what i love about thomas is that he is never trying to impress you. he is always singularly trying to impress himself by challenging himself and taking everything he does to another level. This quality even by itself could be the reason you are now watching a thomas pridgen video on youtube.
Before watching the clip (and knowing both Gadd and Pridgen's styles), I thought "WTF is he talking about", and was gonna rag on your for it. Luckily, I stopped myself and watched the video first - and you totally nailed it. This solo is both Gadd and Pridgen in equal portions. Kudos!
dave grohl has been known to use double kick. theres a vid of dave and taylor hawkins with the guy from bad brains all soloing, he uses one there and on the probot album
We all know Thomas is a great drummer and can do unbelievable things on a drum set. But I love this solo because it's so free and kind of sloppy. You can really tell he's just playing what comes to him, he's really 'in the moment'. Yet another example of how the importance of Imperfection, musical personality and feel greatly outweighs being perfect all the time and having awesome technique (not that Thomas doesnt have that either).
Whenever he yells because he "messes up"; it doesn't bother me. He always seems to be trying new ideas to excite himself; which, right in front of a crowd, excuses any flubs in my book. He's getting better and better.

1:02 amazing left hand control
tomas prigel master master master
I've noticed he likes tomes that are mounted on the kick. I know its probably a quicker set up, but chances are he's not always setting them up.
he has a very interesting left hand technique when he does ghost note sometimes lol
Rorschach test of the impressionist era. ...deep man deep
Single kick genius

Don't forget he is probably wearing shoes too.
this guy dont need a double pedal for the bass. holy crap. thats old school there. no need no double pedal.
did you even watch the video? because he's clearly not...
I love this. Not his usual. Bo Jackson-esque.
The hi hat stuff ? Are you serious ?
His right foot at 3:12. DAYUM!!
haha yeah kinda
do you know why? because as much you watch them better you understand that they are faar from you . sorry
he's like the black morgan agren, but more aggressive
what kind of a person dislikes this? ew
He is the king on single kick, but maybe John Blackwell was the God (check him out, and pass the torch for this legend)
that snare is fatter than a sumo wrestler
That snare drum is killing me! I’m sure it’s a good drum but needs tuned bad!!!
Pot and drum solo's don't mix clearly this guy is high and his eratic leaps in tempo and co ordination make this solo really hard to understand
Perfectly said
Those gospel drummers are becoming boring.
