  • www.autobytel.com/buick/lacros... The 2017 Buick LaCrosse has changes outside and in. This luxury sedan is a wonderfully smooth and quiet cruiser. The 2017 model marks the 3rd generation and is all new and redesigned with 4 trim levels offered ranging in price from $32,065 for the base FWD to $43,265 for the Premium AWD model. The trim tested in this video is the Premium FWD model. The LaCrosse shares its platform with the Chevy Impala.
    Under the hood is a 3.6 liter direct injected V-6 engine that makes 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is helped via a start-stop system and cylinder deactivation. Numbers comes in at 21 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
    The 2017 Buick LaCrosse provides a smooth ride, composed handling, and an extremely quiet cabin. The roomy and nicely appointed interior really helps sell the car. This car is one of the best large sedans on the market.

    Buick has come a long way. for the price you simply cant match the level of Luxury, hell most of Lincoln and Acura's line up can't even compete.

    I heavily rely on reviews like this to decide what my next car will be. In six months I'll be ready to buy a '17 Lacrosse Premium trim with bose, navigation, and adaptive cruise control.

    Just so you know, this is not based on the Impala. The 2017 Lacrosse rides on GM's P2XX platform (the first GM car to do so) which is a longer and wider version of the E2XX which the 16-17 Malibu uses. The Impala, even the 2017 model, rides on the older Epsilon II platform.

      Good point. As part of their new six sigma testing/quality they start most platforms on smaller brands if possible and then roll them out to the larger brands (Buick is much smaller than Chevy). You are correct - I saw that error as well.

    Cadillac XTS, Buick Lacrosse & Chevrolet Impala... same platform, different levels of refinement. Personally, Buick hits the nail on the head by being well balanced. Cadillac to me doesn't compare to the competition with features & performance, Chevy is pretty basic yet nice & Buick did it well. Although a power trunk, power fold mirrors & rear passenger sunshades would do it some justice.

      No. But you can buy tuning unit to remove it with an ecu flash or you can connect a module under the hood which takes 15 minutes to complete installation.

    One of the big complaints of the last generation LaCrosse was the view out of the rear window when driving. The key question is it improved this generation or still the same bad view? Guess a test drive is in order to find out for myself.

    I have the next level down, and it comes equipped withh about the same level of safety technology as my 2000 LeSabre. Who puts proximity sensors only on the rear? Pay attention. All these nice toys are missing unless you pay the hefty price for the top of the line.

      SterrShow actually GM is starting to lean back towards big cars. When is the last time they put out a big sedan like the impala SS. This car right here is as big if not bigger because everytime i see this car it reminds me of an impala SS. It's big. Now I wish they would bring cars back like the impala SS.

    • @pomonacyclone3876
      @pomonacyclone3876 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because they always have, even since the 1930's. And it always worked well for them. At one time they even had more, when they also had the LaSalle. The Buick has always been considered the lower tier luxury car. For decades, it was called "the doctors car" meaning it was near Cadillac, but without the Cadillac sass and flash. For those who want luxury, but not to look like they're trying to impress. Similar to the way Toyota has it's Lexus brand, but also wants a near luxury status with the big plush Toyota Avalon. At one time, Cadillac, Buick and even Oldsmobile were considered luxury vehicles, if purchased in their top of the line models, such as the Electra 225, Park Avenue in Buick or Oldsmobile in the "98" Toronado or Aurora models with the Cadillac being the the top model. Nissan considers it's Maxima to be a semi-luxury model second to the Infinity.

    • @arlofs
      @arlofs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because Buick focuses on comfort and quietness. Cadillac focuses on performance and power. Oldsmobile serves as a steppingstone between Chevrolet and Buick/Cadillac.

    • @kevinheckeler
      @kevinheckeler 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Except Oldsmobile is gone, and really Buick is the stepping stone from Chevy to Cadillac. That's why Oldsmobile was axed.
      I have a 2017 LaCrosse and it's a great vehicle. Plush for commuting, but fun when/if you want to toss it around.
