    that moment when a Buick has a better interior than most of Acura's and Lincolns line up. man, Buick has come a long way.

      Acura screwed up their interiors ever since they went with that double screen bs. The only Acura that has a good interior is the NSX

    Had one as a rental a while back. A silky smooth, quiet, unobtrusive, and gentle road car. If you drive a lot of highway miles, it's a great choice.

    I just wanna say, I love the passion and joy you have when "lets take this out on this back road here and see how it does" comes through. I feel like if I had the privledge to drive the cars you do, I would react the same way with a smile on my face everytime too. You are genuine for sure. Good reviews, keep up the good work!

    Matt, great review, I don't think you realize how many people watch your reviews on "normal" cars that are a few years old. I love the enthusiast stuff, but I am happy you still do car reviews on a car like this Buick LaCrosse. My neighbor who is elderly, bought one brand new in 2018 is thinking about selling, I never thought I would consider a Buick, but every time he rolls down the block I say wow GM made a real nice car, it just catches my eye and the interior to me is very well done.. Anyway this review is helping me make a decision, if he decides to really sell it. His is loaded and even has All Wheel Drive. Like you I live in PA so All Wheel Drive is nice to have. I also watched your Buick Regal GS review, I know they are different cars, but How would you compare the LaCrosse to the Regal GS. I know the GS obviously handles better, but what about ride, comfort, and interior quality., sound insulation?? Reason I ask another neighbor just got a Lincoln and the Regal GS is just sitting, said he is thinking of selling it. Both of these Buick are impressive in my opinion, LaCrosse looks a bit better, The Regal you can tell sporty, plus has the hatch design instead of a trunk. Anyway, Great reviews, well done.

    Best used car for the money. Florida is FULL of them as the elderns love em'. You can pick up a 5 year old LaCross with 15,000 miles for around $12,000 from the original owner. You can get a 10 year old Buick for $4000 in immaculate condition. Almost like off the showroom floor.

    Nice review. Crazy that it's 200 lbs. lighter than ATS-V. Would really like to know how you rank against some direct compares? Kia Cadenza, Lexus ES, Chrysler 300, Hyundai Azera, Toyota Avalon, Maxima, any others?

      +mfmf100 haven't driven any of those other than the Lexus ES which was a long time ago so hard for me to compare it with those unfortunately. I was impressed by the weight too, which I think would give it an edge over the competition.

    This is what I posted on Buick's FB page:"Leased a new 2017 Lacrosse with everything including 20" wheels and tires. The car rides like a go kart and won't track in a straight line either. I replaced tires at 500 miles, from the OEM Bridgestsone RE97s to the Continental Extreme Contact DSW 06. Although ride and directional stability improved with the Continentals, the car is still darty and brittle. Folks say it's the 20" wheels with 40 series tires. I still have a Pontiac G8 GT with 19" wheels and 40 series tires, far more aggressive tires, and the G8 rides far far better. Other than this major engineering flaw, the car is fine. There's not a thing the dealer car do either as its in the design. First drove the 18" base and it's a floater so something in between would be nice."

    Matt, I earlier asked you about my first car, and you recommended the CTS, which is a great car. But, I can get an amazing deal on a 2014 XTS V-Sport. It's in beautiful condition, but it'll be obviously heavier than the CTS. Do you think I should get it?

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Jordan Sloan I haven't driven an XTS but it's not on the amazing Alpha platform like the ATS and CTS so I'm not sure it would feel sporty. I'd wait for a deal on a CTS personally. But I've never driven an XTS so maybe I'm wrong.

    I was tracking along well right up until the handling conversation when the fact that along with 20" wheels this car comes with an active suspension. Yeah, it absorbs bumps well but not because "its a Buick". It does it because it has the same tech that's used in a Z51 Vette and the Caddy CTS-Vs etc. The standard suspension, sans active suspension, I understand to ride more "like a Buick". Also... why no mention that it shares the platform with the Impala? The aforementioned suspension being one of the key differentiators.

    I know what Buick is trying to do and it's great and all but it is still a elder cruiser at heart. Cadillac it seems is the only one that sets itself apart from the rest of GM in terms of models, design and the que system which is different from GMC, Buick and Chevrolet systems.

    With 20's and the pano sunroof make this car a bit slower than it could be. I firmly believe you can get a cheaper '17 lacrosse that can put up close to '18 lacrosse (with the 9 speed) numbers with no sunroof and the 18's.

    The auto start stop is predicated on your braking. Don't slam to a stop then take off. Or, lay off the brake. It's way easy to keep it from dying.
    Furthermore, stop saying but. For a family wagon that has a subtle ride, a 6.0 second car is awesome. You contradict yourself a-lot, remember what you're reviewing. Damn!

      Jason Reyes how boring you're life must be, how stupid do you feel right now? because lexus changed that a long time ago, please elaborate on your stupid comment because im having a hard time, theres no way in hell a lexus looks like a toyota inside or out, olease tell me how pushing 306hp out the is350 anything from a camry, or the is-f 416hp anything from slow, people that own those don't wanna let them go and it's for a damm good reason, please find me any other m3 or c63 or cts-v that hold they're value like the is-f do even a 2007 will ring you 27thousand dollars easily, find any german brand or american caddy that hold theure value, they're practiclly free why because they full of miles and people wanna let them go because theyre value is atrocious and those engines are about to call it quits. you're stupidity is through the roof on this one, if you know nothing about lexus please stop talking out of you're ass and go drive them, or own a is350 or atleast an is-f or you can't afford one? i mean seriously step into a lexus please not the lower end models the one's that are actually sporty.

    • @luigynkaren062011
      @luigynkaren062011 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Reyes dude talk to me when you can actually afford any of the spoken car's here, yes 20 years ago you could of said that, and i would of agreed. There's no way in hell lexus and toyota look alike anymore the company has done a great job to differentiate themselves from toyota product. I would of understand that lexus dont make enough "HP" for yourself, but don't come here saying is not sporty and it's a rebadged toyota because your just making yourself look idiotic and a fanboy, if you need more power put a damn supercharger on a is-f and you can spank any mustang or german garbage, and have the most reliable fastest car ever. Don't come in here talking all this crap that comes out your mouth brother. For the average people that don't take they're car to the track "306HP to 416HP" is more than enough power to satisfie anyone. And like i said if you want more power and reliability just slap a supercharger on it and you'll have the best of both world's.

      As a Lexus owner, I must say... eh. Btw, I worked for mine, and I don't have a rich father. I understand you have a differing opinion of how good Lexus is, and that is fine. However, if all you are going to do is call people idiots for disagreeing with you then get out.

      +1, don't recall any recent Lexus reviews here. It would be nice to see how they stack up, given that he has recently reviewed the Q50 and ATS-V.

    Sounds like Buick needs to quell engine noise. A near 50K Buick shouldn't sound like a 30K Impala and for gods sake GM quit being so arrogant and put a stop/start defeat switch in this car!

    "Cheap plastic"
    This is a nicely designed car, but as usual, there are the typical GM shortcomings. It seems GM can never catch a break when it comes to interior material! They just can't get the details right...And some people say "Buick is now on Lincoln and Acura's level". Puh-Lease! Buick's about a step above Chevrolet in terms of quality and content! Good review by the way!

    There are very few large sedans on the market that are DIRECT competitors for the Hyundai Genesis.
    The Buick Lacrosse is a DIRECT competitor for the Genesis/G80/HTRAC: available with AWD and nice luxury features such as a HUD, massage seats, Forward/ Side Collision alerts and other technology based safety features.
    Both the Lacrosse and Genesis are excellent large, retiree cars without the flash and bling of the Continental, CT6 or other $60,000 - $70,000 cars.
    It has the size of the CT6 inside, but lacks to optional power and sportiness of the Chevy SS.
    GM isn't serious about their cars because they should have made an AWD version with an optional V8. They are simply offering "just enough" to stay afloat - taking no chances.
    This car is a perfect geriatric cruiser for Grandma and Grandpa but it's BORING.

    Uhhhhh... why do I want this at 29? I just wish Buick would go full Chinese already and shred it's old-hat image. Average age buyer in USA is almost 60, in china.. 34. Put magnetic ride control and make it a Caddy-lite, and let the pensioners with bad backs buy something else. Also bring back a full GSX and/or Grand National.
