Great video, Jeff. I fully agree. I like a cotton cardigan for early fall and spring and a wool cardigan for winter. Like you, I leave the top button and bottom two buttons unbuttoned, which allows my belt buckle to show. Style, as you know, is in the details. Excellent and timely content!

Hey, glad you did a video on this all-time classic men's clothing item. I have always loved Cardigans, but somehow they got stigmatized somewhere along the way as being nerdy, jive, etc. I have always found them to be classy and give a guy a distinguished look, because they are at once both casual & dressy. I have them now in black, charcoal grey, navy, hunter green, and even off white. When I was younger I also loved them in baby blue, camel, and canary yellow. Keep-up the good-work!

When I was in high school, I watched the movie Rocky. While Rocky has a good style of his own, it was his manager Mickey that I thought had it together.
To this day, I still wear dark shawl cardigans with watchcaps all thanks to Mickey.

When I was in HS in NY( 77-81) cardigans with a mock neck and a pair of Lees or plaids was cool.I was watching Leave it to Beaver the other day and I just fell in love with the cardigan again.I ordered a navy blue and a brown/ beige cardigan.Now all I gotta do is lose 25lbs of belly fat to pull off the look lovely.
Great video. My favorite cardigan style is the more preppy look with the blue one. But I’m also a fan of the shawl cardigan, as I own one myself. I like how versatile a cardigan can be

My girlfriend just bought me one as a surprise for fall it's all black and made of polyester and spandex only thing I don't like is it doesn't have buttons on it but it is really nice and comfy

Lightweight cotton or lightweight wool cardigan but stay away from synthetics like acrylic for New Orleans weather. Cotton is very breathable but looses its insulation value while wet and builds odor. Wool is cool in summer, warm in winter, moisture wicking, anti-microbial but cost far more, harder to maintain, to wash and a magnate for moths for a free meal.

Late last night I had notice there exist a cotton/performance blend fabric sweaters called Awearness Kenneth Cole AWEARTECH at the Men's Wearhouse. I don't how this type of sweater's fabric does compared to wool or cotton but I did buy for the spring-summer two aweartech polo shirts. I'll start wearing them today under a heavy shirt jacket to see how its does. Hopefully it will give me a hint on how an aweartech sweater performes. I'll post an update in a few days. Update: the aweartech polo preformed well as a performance shirt. It might be worth it as a sweater going from cold outdoors to a very warm indoors.
I love the cardigan!! I just wore a gray light weight one Monday!! I only button the top button and leave the others undone, I feel it looks best that way with my body type. Another great Vid OG!

Jos A Banks and Men's Wearshouse are having a sale on sweaters. Just be certain it is a sweater you want and not because it is an item on sale. Sometimes people are allured to the sale price itself and not the item. Rather than getting deals on items they are looking for on sale they waste money buying items not needed just because it is on sale. I was tempted in the spring on a taupe wool dress pant on sale that I had no need for. I had resisted and when summer came a pair of grey and navy wool dress pants I was in need for was on sale for a fraction of the full price. The combined discount price of the grey and navy pants was a few dollars less than the discount price of the single taupe pant. I had saved money in what I wanted and avoided wasting it on an Item I did not want.

You can also think of the cardigan in more practical terms the buttons allow to control over core temperature better than no button sweaters.
Stop overthinking it ppl just be comfortable in your clothes.
The Navy preppy cardigan was phenomenal. I've seen you wear it other look books, G. I've got to get one of those. I love navy preppy cardigans and dark charcoal shawl cardigans in particular. Just one question, Jeff: I'm wondering when approximately is the the last day that the white sneakers can be worn. I'm guessing Thanksgiving is about the end of the year for those unless you live in warmer climates. They do look great with the cardigans, big time. Thanks.

hey jeff! i’ve been looking for some all white shoes, alternatives to the common projects. there’s a lot out there around $200, but college is expensive so i’ve been looking at the New Republic Kurt’s for a while now. Are they worth the $89? do they last?

For white leather sneakers you can try Vans Classic Tumble Old Skool for $65 or for canvas alternate Vans Canvas Old Skool for $60. You can latter expand your footwear collection with some Vans Slip-Ons in a variety of colors for more of a shoe rather than lace-sneaker look.

White, black, and grey are very neutral colors making them very versatile. It should be possible to wear the sweater with a black or grey tee as long as there is enough of a color difference. No black sweater with a black tee.
@asantos128 The trick to me is one light color and one dark color.So you can rock a black tee with a white or light grey.
