Solo time with each kid between you and Kelly is a great ideal I have four grown children, and we would take turns spending time doing something with each of them They all loved being together, but it was special when it was a one on one and they really get a kick out of it.
One-on-one time really does create those special memories. I can see how it would be meaningful for each of them, and it’s something we’re definitely aiming for as they get older. Thanks for sharing that-it’s great to hear how much your kids enjoyed those moments! 😊
How cool doing a solo trip, Jonathan! I will never be not fascinated by the view of the mountains in the background ❤! I’m excited for upcoming family trips! I just went to Japan this summer with my family and think you guys would enjoy Japan as well! Wherever y’all go will always be eventful ❤!
I enjoyed this video and I think it will be fun to see Kelly’s solo trip and the trips you guys do with each child.❤❤❤.my vote is roll out daily video of your overseas trip so we can see your Alaska like too and not get to far behind on what you all are doing.❤
Thank you so much for the support and great suggestion! 😊 We’re definitely excited about Kelly’s solo trip and the one-on-one adventures with each kid-it’ll be a fun way to experience things from different perspectives. We’ll keep your idea in mind about daily videos for our overseas trips, so you can keep up with everything! Thanks again for being part of our journey! ❤️
This is amazing! Solo camping in Alaska but I probably won't survive that temperature 😂 No doubt we would be so happy if we could see your new uploads everyday but then you will be so busy editing and putting out. Hence, just upload them at your comfortable time and pace. Really appreciate what you and Kelly had been doing all these times. This not easy as many might think. Looking forward to your videos in 2025! Sending my warm tropical hugs to all of you! ❤
Keeping the same schedule of twice a week would be lovely. Im Having withdrawal symptoms if I don't get to see a new video lol😂 But I guess whatever you guys choose, we will still be there watching ❤
Traveling to Alaska many times from May to September I truly love it but cannot imagine the idea of extreme cold you survived! Wow! Thankful my husband and I agreed our idea of camping is a hotel near the river!
Haha, I totally get that-camping with room service sounds pretty great too! Alaska’s extreme cold definitely takes some getting used to, but it makes the adventure that much more exciting (and cozy blankets a necessity). Glad you’ve been able to enjoy the beauty of Alaska your way! 😊❄️
My family and I Iook forward to watch Bags Packed Family every week! Your family is an inspiration! For your South East Asia trip I recommend visiting Manado, Indonesia (North Sulawesi) and try Tinutuan and Ikan Cakalang (Smoked, Cured Skipjack Tuna). Bunaken is one of the tourist spot as well.that of course if you are planning to visit Indonesia again ◡̈ Amazing content, amazing family! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Your solo or whole family video is as interesting as always! One thing I wouldn't wanna miss out on any videos of you guys so please post as often as you can! Haha is that too much to ask? I definitely miss the family this trip but thanks for sharing. What great information about everything. Thanks & Merry Christmas to all of you ❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re glad you’re enjoying both the solo and family videos! 😊 We’ll definitely keep the content coming as often as we can-it’s always a fun adventure to share with you all. And we totally get missing the family vibe; we’ll be back together in future videos! Thanks again for the support, and Merry Christmas to you too! 🎄❤
I have a question. You said that bears are not usually a problem this time of the year, but what about wolves?🐺 Won’t the smell of your meat 🥩 cooking attract them?
We took a cross country trip years ago and used a collapsible JavaDrip from REI for making coffee in the trip. It was nice to be able to use it with higher quality beans.
I would love to see a video of how you and Kelly met and then began your family with pictures. I think this will be an interesting video but know I will miss seeing her and the kids! Like there could be a “meanwhile” segment that features what they are up to while you are camping. Totally though about that green moss, best fire starter ever. I love that crunching sound of the snow/ice. That’s so cool though you want the kids to have one on one time.
@@BagsPackedFamily omg thank you! I thought I had watched most videos but must have missed this one. Love how you and Kelly are different but also so meeting in the middle and together. It’s really relationship goals.
I enjoyed the content with you solo camping and giving the gear a test run. I could see myself doing that one day as well. Definitely missed the rest of the family! The scenery around where you set up camp was breathtaking and that tea definitely looked tasty. I'd like to see y'all maybe go visit Combodia. I've seen videos of that place recently and the people seem so welcoming and kind. Can't wait for another adventure soon. Was worth the wait!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the solo camping video-it was a fun challenge, but I definitely missed the family too. The scenery was stunning, and that tea was just the perfect touch! Cambodia sounds like an amazing idea-I've heard the same about the welcoming people there, so we’ll definitely keep that in mind for future adventures. Can’t wait to share more with you soon-thanks for being patient and sticking with us! 😊
We hope to start skiing soon! A family ski vacation sounds like such a fun adventure, and we’d love to share the experience with you when we hit the slopes! Stay tuned! ⛷️❄️
Jonathan, try to watch winter camping in turkey with inflatable tent. That's super amazing and super enjoyable especially with kids. Hope you get inspired by that. Check Atik family.
Thank you so much for the kind words! ❤️ We love making videos with the whole family too, and we’re glad you enjoy them! Merry Christmas from Alaska to Mississippi! 🎄🎅🎁
Hi, thanks for sharing your next update, great to see you out and about still. Firearm should be an essential for you and the family when out in the wild. At the very least, a 10mm semi auto is something that you'd both be able to shoot, and can be loaded with hard casts for bear etc if you choose not to take a shotgun with you. Whatever you choose will be no use if you don't have it with you and don't both practice with it though. Stay safe and have fun!
For the gun..I grew up in AK so my experience just says make sure the kids take it very seriously. What it is as a tool. Teach gun safety but don’t force them to shoot it unless they are ready (traumatized me.) Don’t glorify killing animals (also traumatized me) but that it is a tool for protection or sustenance. Don’t pretend shoot others. Don’t let others in your home handle your guns if you don’t completely trust them with your life (my mom was almost shot when my other parent was selling a gun and the purchaser pulled the trigger aiming it downstairs where she was not knowing it was loaded. It hit the kitchen sink 1cm next to her.) Just mindfulness I guess of that type of power to end another beings life so easily. But yeah being out there camping alone cooking yummy smelling steak I would want a gun.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and perspective-it’s a valuable reminder of how important gun safety and mindfulness are. I completely agree that teaching kids to respect a gun as a tool, not a toy, is critical, and they should only engage with it when they’re ready. Your story about the near accident is a powerful lesson in trust and caution when handling firearms. I appreciate your insight, and I’ll definitely keep these principles in mind as we navigate this topic. Safety and responsibility are always the top priority.
Aw thank you! You guys are awesome. For me, the first principle of gun safety was always treat it like it’s loaded. So when that happened it was terrifying. My parent didn’t treat it that way and accidentally left a bullet in there. I think you are great parents though, admire you are teachers, and know you will make everything safe and comfortable around that for your kids.
As per your question of how to make your videos in se Asia, I’d suggest rapid fire. Have you ever visited Brunei? That might be an interesting place. God Bless. Merry Christmas to you all.
Rapid fire videos. otherwise, we will miss the Alaskan adventures unless you make the asia videos longer( maybe an hr) . I could watch your family every day. ❤ Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Thank you so much for the love! ❤️ We’re glad you’re enjoying the Alaskan adventures and Asia videos! We’ll definitely consider making them longer. 😊 Merry Christmas to you too! 🎄🎅
I would only consider camping by myself in a friend's backyard! Otherwise, only with a friend or two - I'd be useless camping alone even if i had a packet of matches and all the food drink and camping gear that I'd need. I'm a city/urban boy through and through. 😮
Merry Christmas Mr Jonathan and to your family I can't wait for your international adventure next yr 🌲⛄ I think you should go back to Philippines you must visit boracay and biggest IKEA in South East Asia in Mall Of Asia ,If you love a Venice Italy Philippines has a Italy looklike place in Venice Grand Canal in Taguig and for the last i would like to recommend to your family going to Baguio or Tagaytay you gonna enjoy the cold temperature there and so much stuff
Absolutely love watching you guys , love the adventure /new learning experiences, we absolutely love Alaska life my son 6yesrs old ,can’t stop asking can we visit soon , where in Ireland so expensive trip but its definitely top of list to visit Alaska soon also home education is in our home , so the freedom to travel & learn is amazing 🫶🏻 wishing you guys a merry Xmas 🎅🏼🎄 & amazing 2025 from Ireland 🇮🇪
Southeast Asia definitely a must to open the algorithm and boost views as well as subscribers. Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia are to consider and I know you like these countries. Yes!!
Freeze dried instant coffee is a little better but you can buy ground coffee in filter bags, it looks like a large tea bag.
Good to know! Thanks for the tip!
I like the 2 videos a week, maybe do say wednesdays overseas videos and saturdays at home in alaska?

We hope to start skiing soon! A family ski vacation sounds like such a fun adventure, and we’d love to share the experience with you when we hit the slopes! Stay tuned! ⛷️❄️

I would never go diving at night in the ocean!
I totally get that! Night diving in the ocean definitely isn’t for everyone. There’s something about the unknown that makes it a bit intimidating, but for those who do it, it’s an incredible experience! Would you ever try daytime diving?
@BagsPackedFamily maybe...would you? Kelly?
@ We both had the unique experience of going night diving and loved it! 😄
@BagsPackedFamily OMG y'all are so brave.
Why don't you use a cot? It gets you off the ground.
Great suggestion! A cot definitely would make things more comfortable and get us off the ground. We’ll definitely keep that in mind for future trips-thanks for the tip!

Yes!!
Italy
That would be great! 🇮🇹
Post daily content 💯💞
Got it! That's what we are thinking too.
Plz give update on your safety (firearms) while camping outside
I don’t think you’ve been to Vietnam, Hanoi is awesome..
Ha Long Bay would be a great side trip from there as well.
Check it out, may need to get a visa ahead of time, but I think they may have changed that earlier in the year….
Also I would say, Don’t Rush through your content.
I think a lot of people have set days that they usually post on.
Unless it’s something important, otherwise post your days in your description area
14will be good enough for you :)
PLEASE GO BACK TO PHILIPPINES
