May You And Your Family have a Great and Merry Christmas May It Be A Beautiful Blessing From Above Where Lots of Love Abounds!
I have to say, your demeanor and the way you are with your little doggo companion, just everything about your presentation is so warm, inviting and friendly. I really enjoy listening to you and sharing these adventures with you vicariously. Thank you!
I own a 20X20 foot wax canvas tent & every winter I put it up along with my big pot belly stove . It sits right in the center of my tent , it heats up the tent very well using 2 small fans , the guys mostly come over every weekend & use it , it’s there place away from home .
That brings back memories from 50 years ago when as kids, at some point during the summer, we used to camp out in front of our house in my dad’s old canvas tent exactly like this one. Fun times.
Dog, tent, fire in the stove, being in nature, time with family…never apologize for taking time and attention for the most important people in your life. We love spending time with you and Jaxx. Wishing you a Happy Christmas from me and mine to you and yours. We are all family here. :)
I found an interesting video a while back about a guy creating statues by soaking cotton clothing in concrete.I wondered if permanent shelters could be made by soaking cotton tents in concrete, then setting them up and letting them dry.similar, larger "instant inflatable bunkers" are constructed pretty much the same way.Just a thought.
My father had 12 kids, some of my favorite memories are camping in his old WW2 platoon tent. Fit us all including the dogs and a cat ? Once in awhile. Keep on keeping on.
Every guy who owns a male dog was cracking up throughout this video LOL. I lost my 14 year old Fur buddy this last summer and your videos bring back nice memories. : ) Keep up the great content and definitely spend time with the family. They are only young once.
Back in the 70s we used those old tents in the boy scouts. We'd throw some plastic sheets on the bottom. I can still smell it. 😂 During the winter they were not very comfortable and most of us spent the nights around the fire dozing off between steel cups of cocoa.
Reminds me of being in the scouts early 70’s. Cold sleeping on the ground without a decent mat and no stove. Definitely scary deliberately putting holes in a tent.
Thank you for another great video and please give thanks to your dad for his commitment to the craft..his videos on your channel are excellent...you and your family have a nice holiday including Jack..from across the pond thanks again
I have a Viking tent with the same Canadian-type structure, completely in natural materials, for philological reenactments, but I also use it every now and then for bushcraft camps, instead I made the hole for the chimney on the vertical rear door almost near the top! Naturally I use a flexible rod that passes through the hole, so I can make a double curve comfortably and keep it more stable with a bracket on the external frame!
I do Historical Reenacting and have come to realize that the 2 basic tent styles, the Cabin style like this and the A-frame style (better known as the Pup Tent), really didn't change much from the late 17th century until the advent of the lightweight synthetics in the 1960s. I guess it goes back to the old saying - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Found a World War 2 Indonesian/ British A frame tent. The thickness of the heavy canvas, the stitching, ... simply perfect! If it wasn't for the huge English writing on the side i could have used it for my Wehrmacht reenacting :)
Merry Christmas Mike and family from my family much love to you all so really glad how your channel has boomed up well deserved. Can i say you have the most amazing DAD awesome humor thank you 🏴🇬🇧♥️🤘
Gets blanket out Pats blanket “Lay Down Jax” Jax is too excited and does everything but 🤣 Thanks for sharing a brilliant camp Mike. Love seeing Jax out with you. Have a nice Christmas 😁
Thanks Mike and Jax for a nice camp. Good to spend time with your family 😊 I love the tent. Spent a good amount of time in canvas Army tents. Also we used nice canvas tents for Civil War and Mt Man re-enactments. Take care😊
We can watch allllll your other older videos while you spend awesome time with your whanau ( family ) We love you mate And your wee doggo Have the best Christmas And blessings to you all
Thanks Mike/Jax. with a Window to the Fire, I could fall asleep to that... A friend and I had a permanent seasonal site and I would sleep outside in a Tent/Cot facing the fire and I'd fall asleep to that...
Great video, as always, Mike. I remember borrowing an old Scouting tent from the '60s, similar to the one you used, and you're right; they are incredibly heavy. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Another great video and I was on the edge just watching you cut a hole in the side of the tent. Also I was lucky enough to get one of your hatchets from the first batch and it is wonderful! I highly recommend buying one! Many blessings to you and your family during this holiday season. Cheers mate!
Suggestion, based on experience. It's always preferable to ensure that the doors are done up before you pitch, as it makes it easier to ensure you can do them up later.
I've been watching for years. Since the first Bushcraft camp. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas to your family. Say hi to your dad for me. That guy is great!
Yes sir! Raw feeding is the best! Good job at controlling food aggression. It has to be maintained. Even smaller breeds. I've been raw feeding my dogs for about 12 years. It's the way to go, especially if you do your own hunting. It's Definitely a science to it. But once you figure out the best options and how to cut down on cost it becomes second nature. You will save so much on vet bills and your beloved fur child will live longer, healthier, happier lives. Without a doubt. Ive got a 9 yr old pitbull/amstaff mix that acts like a puppy and is the healthiest dog in the vets office.
Really enjoyed that Mike cheers. Always family 1st buddy we have so little time with our kids as youngters. That said my lad Cam is my bushcraft buddy so we still spend a lot of time together. Have a great christmas buddy and hope to see you again at the bushcraft show. Laters ⛺️🔥🙂
Great video, You know we would never know if Jax broke some wind, we can't smell through video recordings yet !!!, but it was funny !!!! Have a great day, also while you were cutting the stove vent hole, if you would have at least put 3 opposite bolts through to anchor the ring it would have a made a guide to safely cut out the circle.
Looks exactly like the scouts wall tents..( or military surplus is where they came from.) Hint... you can prop the eave lines with a piece of wood to reduce the length.
The first video of yours I ever watched you were hot tenting and made fajitas. I borrowed the recipe (had mushroom and capsicum atc) and have made it regularly ever since.
Another Totally Awesome video Mike, with Totally Awesome Jaxx in a Totally Awesome tent, with a Totally Awesome stove, cooking Totally Awesome food. Have a fantastic Xmas holidays with lots of fun and laughter shared with family and friends. All the very best always Johnny 🤩🌟🤩
Esta muy buena la idea del coso de silicona para pasar la chimenea de la estufa!! Ojala se vendieran de esos aca para tener para salir bien comodos en invierno!!
The coat of shame 😂. Our mutt a quarter Jack Russel will run and hide if we bring the coat of shame out! Just need to get through the 20 minute whinge barrier then she’s happy. Camping with the dog is a real pleasure

@scottmurray8679… Well said!
Could not have said it any better
It's sad that this isn't how more people think. I actually have to explain to people that I have responsibilities as a father...
Yeah. When lying on your deathbed spending too much time with family is unlikely to be among your regrets...
Exactly hope you'll all have a great 2025
I have to say, your demeanor and the way you are with your little doggo companion, just everything about your presentation is so warm, inviting and friendly. I really enjoy listening to you and sharing these adventures with you vicariously. Thank you!
0:33 love how the dog is just like "oh ok, you're doing your thing again, see you in a bit m8" ❤
That tent hole cut was the most tense I've ever been watching your videos!
Squeeky bum time!
I totally agree lol!! Sooo stressful!! x

Hey Mike, was good to meet you at my Uncles cafe on Saturday. Keep up the good work! Sam.
Great to meet you too! Thanks for coming over and saying hello. Might see you there again sometime 👍🏻
That brings back memories from 50 years ago when as kids, at some point during the summer, we used to camp out in front of our house in my dad’s old canvas tent exactly like this one. Fun times.
Nice tent. My grandpa had one just like that, we used to camp out in it in the back yard at his house during the summer.
Good times were had!
Nice tent for meeting blokes on grindr😂

Merry Christmas, Mike! Best to you and yours...thanks for all the great vids!
Bless up, thanks so much for the video. I can't wait until the kids are old enough to help dad with his camping videos :D

Great video 😊
Cutting hole, chimney rolling.... I must say that you know how to raise the viewer's blood pressure.
Best Regards to your family and yourself Sir! Thanks as always for your hard work ❤
I would have cleared the debris under and around that stove. Nice tent and great video.
Our U.S. Army tents had stovepipe holes for diesel stoves, which could also be used for wood stoves if you can find a used U.S. military tent.
Was in cubs, scouts and venture scouts in 70s to early eighties..always a sad feeling when you let the frame drop and the camp is over.loved this.
It's awesome to be able to take time with the family.

Stabilizing the chimney is a challenge!
Thanks mike 👍. Jacks is so freaking cute!
I remember being in the scouts and still using those tents in the early 2000’s
Same we use to sleep 12 of us in one haha
Same, and having to raise the hessian at the bottom sides after it rained to dry off!
Same we were still using them in 2018 for scout jamboree
Have a great Christmas and New Year. Thanks for all the great content and enjoy time with your family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year title you and your Family and Jacks.

So We knew who did it. HAHAHAHAHA.
مرحبا ياصاحبي نتابعكم من الوطن العربي اشكرك على نشر المعلومات والفوائد دمتم بخير
Similar to the bog standard ridge tents we used with the Scouts back in the 60s. No wood burner then, just a Primus stove.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!🎄🙏
Merry Christmas dude and thanks for all the awesome videos.
Really enjoyed all your video's this year, have a wonderful christmas and a happy new year. Dave
Good job bro, i from Indonesia 🇮🇩

Monty would have been quite comfy. Merry christmas to you. To Jacks woof woof woofy woof

I have the same tent from 1960 boy sxout trips. Has original wood poles. I may install a pipe hole but in the rear door up high - not in the roof.
Looks like a major expedition with heavy gear! :)
Yooo Love the Videos man keepem coming. Have probably watched almost all of the videos from three years ago and even earlier.
Thanks for all of the support!
