Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google, where advertisers bid to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listings, or videos to web users.
About call ads
Call ads are designed to encourage people to call your business, and can appear only on devices that make phone calls. When a potential customer clicks your ad, the ad places a call to you from their device.
How it works
Call reporting-which is available only on the Search Network-uses Google forwarding numbers (GFNs) to measure the performance of your call extension or call ad. When you turn on call reporting, we’ll assign a Google forwarding phone number to your ad. That way, you’ll be able to see the details of your calls, and count them as conversions.
How a call ad works
Your ad wins an auction and is shown on the Search Network.
Someone taps the ad.
That person’s mobile phone dialer opens with the number set (either your own number or a GFN, depending on your settings).
The person taps the call button to place the call.
Calls using a GFN should be counted as a phone call in your reporting. Calls where the duration meets the minimum requirement set in your account for a conversion will be reported as a conversion on the date the ad was shown. For example, someone is shown your ad on August 5 and writes down the GFN, but doesn’t call until August 10 and has a 2-minute call with your business. On August 10, you would have one phone call reported and a call conversion reported on August 5 because the call met your 30-second requirement.
When you create your ads, you'll be asked to enter the following information:
Two headlines (optional, but recommended)
Your business name
Your phone number
Two lines of description text
A display path (optional)
A Final URL (optional, but recommended. If provided, will show a user-facing link to the webpage)
A verification URL, which is the URL of a webpage that includes your business phone number.
These fields are eligible to show when your ad appears on mobile devices, but some may be omitted in order to make the most of the smaller screen space on these devices.
Select extensions, including location extensions, structured snippet extensions, and callout extensions, are also eligible to show with your ad. Extensions expand your ad with more information and can give your ad greater visibility and prominence on the search results page. Clicks on location extensions will send people to your location page. There's no cost to add them, and it is recommended that you add all extensions that are relevant to your business. Clicks on your ad (including your extension) will be charged as usual. To learn more about extensions, skip to About extensions.
Headline clicks on call ads initiate calls directly to your business and don't send customers to your website landing page. When you enter your verification URL, which can be the landing page URL for your business, that's only to verify your ad and phone number. It will not be directly displayed on your ad.

I mispoke at 33:40 I should have said "The bigger the ad the more likely it is to be seen. The more likely it is to be seen the higher the ctr. The higher the ctr the higher the expected CTR. This leads to increased quaility scores, a lower cost per lead and more leads, which equals more account success".
Fantastic video, thank you so much.
Can i set my budget lower? i was aiming at 800 a month, or do you suggest another form of ad?
Yeah man I've shared your video to a couple of other contractors. I've got an electrical license and I'm super small just me so your videos are extremely helpful for my business.
Thanks and glad to here it :)
Thanks for video very helpful
Honest and straight to the point on each critical area I'm usually confused about. Thank you so much for this, real thoughtful.
Thanks man, this a real in depth video about call Ads and better than some of the paid training I’ve seen recently!
Crushing it, so much value here. Thank you
Fantastic class mate! Thanks for sharing so much value

Bless your heart. Thank you for making this
No problem :)
Amazing tutorial keep shining
Thank you, I am really hoping to get more phone calls after watching your video. It was very informative!
Thanks Brother
OUTSTANDING
Good Job, Thanks!
Great video, thanks!
Good point on location and presence, but what would you suggest as a good strategy to target medical tourism from U.S. to Mexico? Our Target audience is not in my client's location, but we are falling into this loop where the ad shows up for people that have shown interest in the location but are not necessarily our target audience.
Tons of value here, thanks for doing it!
I have a campaign that I am working on optimizing and having a hard time for a home restoration company. I think the issue is that most of the keywords in the target area have 10-20 results per month. What would be the best way to optimize? Search partners? Adding more keywords (still in phrase match)? What would you recommend?
Thanks for this video. It really helps
This is amazing
Thank you for such a crisp tutorial. I have followed your instructions and I have a question for you. My campaign ran for about a 10 days and I got 70 clicks on my call only ads - but only 5 actual phone calls. Is that par for the course or did I screw up somewhere. Should I keep running the campaign, I have already spent $500 so its getting difficult for a small TH-camr like me. Appreciate what you are doing - I try to do the same for my solar customers.
Really useful and deep dive video
Bro I have seen so many tutorials on the google ads and because there are too many things in Google Ads people are unable to communicate it in a good way and it seemed to me a lot complex. But the way you have explained all of it bro you saved my day. I am really really thankful to you and usually I don't subscribe to people but I think you earned that subscribe. Stay Blessed
hows your google ads currently running?
Hello, hope you are well. Wanted to know if this method would work well for real estate?
Wouldn’t segmenting by conversion action effectively split call conversions up between call ads and calls from extensions for you because the default Call from Ads action will aggregate the call data under call-ads and RSAs respectively?
Also what’s your take on a) mixing RSAs and call ads? and b) adding Sales actions as campaign goals?
I have them in consolidated ad groups (and have seen success with the sales action included as a campaign goal) but have always wanted to test them segmented - the worry tho is wouldn’t segmenting be counterintuitively duplicating kws across more than 1 ad group/campaign ?
Appreciate any feedback and thx so much for your video!
I have followed many videos on youtube. Even paid for it setting up professionaly and didnt get 1 call it Just cost me a ton of money... how long does the add need to be up for to start getting results?..
Conversion action not appearing in the buttom of my ad setup, not the options below you choose
Have you seen the new Ads for Call Only campaigns? what do you think of it. It seems the number is not longer at the top. Great video btw!
I’m also interested in that. Because so many times I’m getting clicks but no calls
Can you make an advertisement (making process) for taxi services? in my opinion, it is best with the option without a target, to be played only on mobile phones, microlocation, users of taxi services. we in Croatia do not have the option of tracking the conversion. for example, I'm from Makarska and I want it to be displayed only there.
Does this work with real estate photography?
If I'm operating an GoogleAds agency from India (or any non-American country), and verify my agency account my entering the actual location, that'll change the currency for the entire account. It's a total nightmare to see "Bid-amounts" in local currency and not USD.
How should I go about it?
How much the cost when we generate the call through the Google add ?
My Ad definitely ranked and got a ton of clicks and impressions but the “clicks” didn’t covert to actual calls. Can you explain this?
Why do you need to have a different ad group for each service? Why not put everything 1 ad group?
I tried on what you teach on your courses. And still no success. Not sure on what I am missing.
1. High CPC
2. Less leads
I am in AC niche.
It entirely depends on what you are selling. If you sell expensive products in a competitive market then expect to pay more for a lead. Please be sure to calculate your expected performance from clicks, impressions and all the way down to sales. In the beginning you have to spend money to gather data and learn what works so be comfortable with that aspect of running ads.
Completely agree with @Prosris . If the market is super competitive you can be amazing at google ads and still see little success unfortunately. I would definitely check to make sure all the basics are covered, using landing pages, conversion tracking is set up correctly, focusing on high intent keywords, etc.
But then again there are tons of other companies that succeed with Google ads in these competitive markets so how do they do it?
Iv heard so many different opinions on these ads from professionals. Why is there not a consensus? Some companies say that these type of ads perform well some say they barley run even if they try.
Lots of different variables, but a lot of it depends on the vertical itself.
Very strange, as I was going through this tutorial and hit publish, the ads platform froze, lost all of my work.. Don't you hate it when that happens.
very much! i've only had that happen to me once or twice fortunately
19$ for one call ahhhhhhh i dont know bro
Thanks man is a lifesaver
Thanks for video very helpful
Great video, thanks!
You bet!
