In the video you mounted the rods to the fascia alone, is that the conventional way to mount them? I’d always thought they were mounted to metal
I needed this because I run a rsx Mugen Lip with a Sti Lip splitter which makes my car LLOOOWWWW.....one finger inch so I’m swapping to another OEM bumper with a universal carbon fiber Lip splitter with push in buttons and the tie rod XD
Thought these were supposed to be mounted to a solid surface due to the fact plastic flexes unless your intention is not to be functional but instead have it for looks?

I’d imagine the angled rods are meant to prevent the splitter from warping over time by applying outward force?
angled is just for aesthetic. it definitely still provides support but straight is best for function

Is it necessary to remove the bumper before installing or is there a way around that?
I highly recommend it. Don’t just run screws or no backing securing it as it’ll just rip out

It’s made for the bumper. Designed with the owner for the owner. But They are more for aesthetics unless I do everything to make a functional one.

They should be if you have a functional splitter. Most people just have them for looks "because racecar"

As long as the middle doesn’t need the support I don’t see why not. But if it’s long I’d recommend using it to support the front
I love the look on my car but fuck mine came off I had to order a shit ton of pairs on eBay just in case
