Dan made his stand and presented his case very kindly and valuable for others to consider. Some young men destined for the priesthood leave the church because their questions about the old and new testament are never answered. Not even the priest are drinking the cool-aied.

Not taking anything away from anyone but Dan has so much experience on his side that even if his opponent were to be more intelligent than him and more well read relative to his age it would be hard to counter that depth of experience.

Dan is old enough to be his opponents' father at the very least. Not taking anything away from anyone but Dan has so much experience on his side that even if his opponent were to be more intelligent than him and more well read relative to his age it would be hard to counter that depth of experience.

Nobody can make a strong argument for that because it’s impossible - there will always be ample reasonable doubt. It doesn’t take decades of experience to understand that, and no amount of experience on Tom’s part will change that.
