Desk looks great as it is, would probably have sanded it but if it's soft already then no need, great colour

Keep the top natural. no sanding. if you get any scrtches over time, then sand a bit.

Alright mate looks good that - can I ask did you cut down the worktop to fit inbetween the walls or is it a 2m wide desk.? looking to do a similar set up with a kitchen top. i have a wall which is 1.7m wide so would need cutting down, or i could leave it 2m wide on top of the alex drawers on a different wall which is longer than 2m.
Sorry for the late reply. Originally it was just as it came but because I had to move it to a different part of the room I cut it down at that point.

Nice set up, im looking to order a oak top from the same place- did you have the depth cut to size? Or do you have an overhang on the alex drawers, thanks
Hi mate. There is a roughly 2 or 3 cm overhang but that is at the rear so it can’t be seen. The desk butts up against the wall too as a snug fit.

how do u attach the countertop to the alex drawers did the drawers came with the rubber think or u just set it on top without anything
The countertop is very heavy so I just sat it on the Alex drawers and it really doesn’t move. There is no need for anything else to be used
If you buy a top from Ikea some of them have holes for screws to attach to the drawers
But they aren’t as good quality. Find a good kitchen oak worktop from a independent supplier and you have something that lasts

I bought the untreated one. It’s natural
Any bending on the desk?
None at all. It’s solid oak and was an absolute pig to get upstairs due to the weight. Once it’s on, you could stand on it and have zero bend
How high are your Alex drawers? In my Ikea Store they are 70cm high. In your video it looks a lot higher, unless you sit very low😂

They do two versions. A normal height one and one that is quite high. My desk is at normal height 😏

It’s solid wood mate and very heavy. I’ve stood on it, no bend

The desk itself isn’t from ikea. It’s a kitchen worktop from house of worktops. Solid wood. Very heavy
