Ok, so I made a batch today and your use of the roasting pan is genius! I always spread them out on several cookie sheets, rotating them in the oven. By using my roasting pan (same model as yours) It was sooooo much easier. Keep up the great videos! The ONLY thing you should "measure carefully" is baking...Bread NEEDS exact ingredients....nothing else does.
I have been buying piecemeal all the lings for my chex mix. I have never seen nor thought about using the roaster -- I just thrifted mine a couple of months ago. I'm totally doing this! (I love the wheat chex - they tend to sop up all the seasonings!) Thanks for sharing - and giving us great ideas!
I KNEW it would be good when you didn't measure a dag-gone thing...Nice version, I am using it instead of the ones that say '1/4 teaspoon of..." I literally look through my spice cabinet and say "oh, celery seed, that might work..Oh, a bit of Soy Sauce might help, LOOK! I have some Smoked paprika!... It should NEVER be the same way twice.
Another great idea for the Christmas baskets! What would I do without you Pook! Lol Pookie is my husband’s nickname for my youngest daughter so your in good company lololilol
We do it a bit differently every year. Always pretty much the same seasoning as yours and usually all three types of Chex or Crispix and Cheerios with fancy mixed nuts. The extras may change a bit each year - Cheezits, Goldfish, pretzels, bagel bites, etc. I like to put it in the holiday ziplock bags to grab out of the freezer for snacking or gifting. Now I am off to find your apple cider syrup. I am thinking it may be part of this year’s goody bag. I made boiled cider - from a gallon down to one pint - and it packs a punch of flavor in recipes.
I lived in Shreveport, LA for about 3 years. My first year there, someone made chex mix with habanero pepper sauce he grew and made. MAN was it spicy. I could only eat 3 or 4 pieces of the mix at a time. But I ate it, and the baggie lasted me WEEKS! :)
I made a sweet version at Thanksgiving. Mix together in a large bowl: 3 cups Rice Chex 3 cups Corn Chex 1 cup cashews (can use mixed nuts) 1 cup mini pretzels In a small saucepan, mix and boil over low to medium heat for 5 minutes: 1/3 cup butter 1/4 cup honey 3/4 cups brown sugar Remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Do not stir. Pour hot mixture over the dry mix and stir to coat. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet. Bake at 225° for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool completely before putting into an airtight container. *You can use 6 cups Crispix cereal instead of the two types of Chex.
Hi! I’m a new subscriber. I made this in my crockpot and most of it turned out rubbery. 😞 Is there a way I can fix it? That might be a dumb question but I don’t want to throw it out. Thank you 😊
Hello and welcome ! I’ve never made Chex mix in a crockpot before. Try laying it on some cookie sheets and roasting it in the oven. Stir it every few minutes . That should crisp it up! I think crockpots hold too much moisture and that may be why you had the results you did. Hope this helps - come back and let me know if it does!

I 💯 percent agree!! Glad you found the roaster helpful! Great way to make a bunch without all the hassle , lol
Glad you are enjoying the videos!!
I've always added the seasonings in with the butter and added soy sauce too--probably with less seasoned salt too because of the salty soy sauce.
I use worchestershire sauce , I bet soy sauce would be really good!!
I love your recipe for your Chex Mix I haven't made it in a few years So yes I need to rember how to make it.Thank you
We love it too! I make it every year at Christmas!
Oh Hell, I haven't had Chex mix forever!! Gotta do it now for sure!!🖤💜💛💜🖤💣💣
LOL , it's addicting! April has eaten a whole freezer bag already!!
My mom used to make it. One of my favorites 😚😚🤣
I make my chex mix part butter and part bacon grease. It has season salt paprika and chili powder. Nice for something different.
Oh my! That sounds amazing!!! Net the bacon grease really makes it! I’m gonna try that next time!!
I think it should be named..Never The Same Way Twice Chex Mix because I agree that everyone makes it a bit different.
There are so many different ways to make it. I think my mom used to add Italian seasoning to hers
My neighbor used to make this but she would use a bottle of Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn oil instead of butter
Wow, never heard of that!!
Genius ! Thank so much ❤🇬🇧❤
You are most welcome!
I love your version of holiday Chex Mix. Lots of goodies going on in Chelsea and April's home this Christmas. That's for sure.
Oh yes! That's why we are chubby LMAO

LOL - I always say measure with your heart - not a recipe! Glad you enjoyed the video!
In all these recipes. people only say "sticks of butter." Is a stick one cup or half cup?
Thank you
@@infiniteexpressions7962 a stick is a half cup 😊
