Holiday Trash aka White Trash! Yummy recipe!!!

- White Trash is a holiday favorite in our house. This recipe makes A TON!!! It’s great for gifts and for just eating with some hot chocolate on cold nights.
Ingredients:
2 boxes different flavors Chex cereal
1 box Golden Grahams cereal
1 can cashews
1 bag pretzels
2 packs Almond Bark-melting chocolate
I buy a disposable plastic tablecloth from the dollar tree when I make big mixes like this! It doesn’t shift around like strips of wax paper and I can just toss it afterwards.

I make the same thing only I do had the m &m’s . Plus I make the spicy ones to. I use a rubber spatula or a silicone one to really scrap out the chocolate from the bowl.
Great recipe, could add anything you like or leave out what you don’t!
I use a silicone spatula to get all the chocolate out and even toss a little cereal in the melting bowl to get that last bit!

Instead of throwing the liners that the cereals are in. Carefully pull apart at the seams so the waxed paper lays flat, then you have a liner for the table, put in a container to separate sticky treats. You have already paid for them so use them and save $$$$!!!.

@@paulagathings7050 yes! I do so many things with this pan. I make the white trash, my husband makes sausage, we mix large quantities of anything in it…it comes in handy!

No, only with the white chocolate not with a milk, chocolate or a dark chocolate.
How long will it last for
If you seal it in ziploc or airtight containers…weeks.

@@carolynlaird8534 no problem! I was driving but I wanted to say it never lasts long enough to go stale lol! I used to make a batch beginning of December then another mid month. Now that I’m semi retired I only did one batch.
I think I would put on gloves and really get into it!

Maybe make half at a time - then it would be easier to stir.
I’m a little too ocd for that!!! Like I’m afraid I won’t split the ingredients evenly 🤦♀️. I just take the plunge and do it all at one time!!!!! Good suggestion tho!!
What is a junk journal?
A book you either make or alter an existing book and fill with pockets and tuck spots and tags and pieces of paper from days gone by…. Originally like junk paper but now anything. The decorations (ephemera) could be pretty, something that means something to you, or both. Traditionally it was meant as a writing/keepsake journal. Some people use only vintage items, others new pieces that are vintage themed or both of those…or neither lol. The paper that the journal is constructed with can be regular paper, book pages, various types of paper, doilies, rice paper, wall paper scraps, scrapbook paper all mixed together.
