    One thing - there is an option for 25mm rotors (MG ZR/ZS), but typically it's 1kg more. Plus more weight on caliper brackets.

    • @Gripworkz
      @Gripworkz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting 🤔 I wonder if thinner or modified brake pads are required.

    • @psemeq
      @psemeq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Gripworkz not the pads - different rotor thickness require different brackets. For 282 rotors you have 3 different brackets 22t, 25t and 28t - each corresponding with rotor thickness. I got Mini r56 rotors that are 22mm, brackets from CRV - 22t and 2 pot calipers from Accord v6. You can go with MG ZR/ZS rotors that are 25mm but you need t25 bracket.
      28t bracket is used in 4x114.4 and 5x100 rotors. Higher mass in brackets come from more metal for different rotor sizes.

    Good video, I did this upgrade many times myself and all your information is correct. The only thing that didn’t make sense to me is why you took off the hub to get the studs out? • @anthonylusano6906
      @anthonylusano6906 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lug-centric rings aren’t necessary. The pressure from the wheel clamps the rotor on with ample pressure.

    • @Gripworkz
      @Gripworkz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I still haven’t installed them and have not found them necessary. They’re more of a “piece of mind” item if you deem it necessary. But I’ve put plenty of street/highway/track miles on the car since that upgrade and haven’t had a single issue.

    • @herranton
      @herranton 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anthonylusano6906which is great if you get the rotor centered when you clamp it down. But if the rotor is off center when you clamp it down, your rotor is offset by 1mm, which could lead to shaking similar to a wheel that isn't balanced.
      Your wheel isn't going to fall off. Your rotor isn't going to spin while braking. It's a balance issue. If you don't have that problem, that's great!
      But the shims are $14.

      Oh it’s quite a big upgrade, that’s why it’s so popular. And B series or not, better brakes will always make a big difference on a track. Larger caliper, larger piston size, larger brake pad surface, larger rotor, much more thermal capacity, well worth it.

    • @Gripworkz
      @Gripworkz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well there’s the price of the EX spindles (which isn’t a lot) but there are other things to factor in depending on how much work you want to do. Take this white civic for example: I did remove the spindle and replaced the wheel bearings and ball joints, there are tools you’ll need to either buy or rent to do that or you’ll need to pay a shop to do it. So the cost kind of balances out. Also if you’re using just replacement parts or upgrading to say roll center correction ball joints.

      If you got the spindles off an EX, the bearings will be the same size as an integra. If your bearing seems too big, you’re probably trying to use DX or base model bearings. Also keep in mind that bearings and hubs have to be pressed in.
