You can tell the producers knew how young and naive the fans were back then, they didn’t even try to match the sound of Ashlee’s voice in the scene with Kendall yelling. It’s SO obvious it was edited. 😂
A lot of the new people said they liked the producers and a lot of the older people the OGs plus Kendall and Jill and other people that came a little later said they hated the producers because the difference between being on the reality show with the behind the scenes toxic drama like what Maddie and Chloe called it for 4 to 6 or 7 years compared to 1 to 2 years you have a different perspective and a different experience. I award Nia for staying the longest. Like Kendall was portrayed as a little drama queen and a brat on the show cause they always used her emotional or jealous or angry takes that's why people didn't like Kendall these kids felt the pressure with the cameras and showing that Abby only cared 1 girl and the producers and Abby manipulating them and their friendships so it's understandable.... Brynn was my favorite too!! And I’m the same age as kalani so I was old enough to know that a lot of the drama around her mom was heavily produced. Also I knew that Jess and jill tag teamed her mom to take her down and as soon as jess left the drama chilled out so she was the obvious source. I’m also an advanced competitive dancer and to me she just seemed really jealous of brynns potential and talent. There’s no other reason why a mom would act that way to intentionally hurt a child. Just saying. Doesn’t matter if it’s for good tv or not, there was def an intention behind her hate and she did bully Brynn and Ashlee. When Brynn cried over her duo with a boy she was the first one to say something to brynns face but what about jojo crying over a ballet duet?! That’s okay then? Hypocrisy if you ask me!!
I just finished re watching season 6 after a while and Ashlee is definitely right about realizing how poorly you guys were treated. It’s crazy how much producers twist things and make it seem real!!

I never knew who Sia was she wore a lot of wigs and weird outfits and made the the weirdest music videos. I wasn't into that kind of music platform that's why I disliked Lady Gaga but I still knew of her because she's big like Britney Spears but Sia wasn't as big and some people still aren't into those wacky vids so I never knew who Maddie was and she was only on a few movies and they were lower films just like Chloe but everyone has to start somewhere. A lot of reality stars find it hard to get into real acting because their known for reality television it takes a long time to Land the bigger roles that's why she finally got to be on a film people are familiar with Westside Story Remake.... I would say during and after the show their not big except Jojo their no Selena Gomez even Mackenzie the singer yet in terms out of all the girls I would say the biggest success stories with the most successful careers post show is Jojo, Chloe, Maddie and Kenzie but Abby won't talk about the other girls because Abby only booked Maddie and Kenzie Jobs. Chloe also made her own success like Jojo. Abby barely talks about Kenzie though. Those 4 girls made the most money and fans at the competitions there was tons of Chloe signs and yet the producers told the interviewers to only talk about Maddie. In the future after what Maddie said about Abby what does she think about that now? She shouldn't of manipulated the girls against each other ruining the girls friendships even Maddie realized that later which is why she called it a "Toxic Environment." However Brynn and Kalani both only cared about Dancing they could care less about Acting or Singing even though Brynn started in Theater and they both became amazing dancers the two girls that Abby constantly pressured to be like Maddie cause they both were the closest to her dancing level just like Chloe only Abby didn't like Christi so she'd never acknowledge it even though she beat Maddie at Nationals but even though they don't make as much money as the other 4 because acting and singing makes more Kalani and Brynn both became dancers and their own choreographers so they were successful in the dance world....❤❤❤❤

When watching dance moms I sided with Ashlee, I could see right through the other moms they were solely jealous of your daughters skill. Instead of focusing making their daughters better dancers, they’d tried to tear both you and your daughter down so she wouldn’t act out as a threat. Crazy.
I think perhaps Jessalyn was insecure because Brynn and Jojo had a similar look and at the time similar body types so she thought maybe it was one or the other? Not an excuse at all and I'm SO sorry she treated you guys poorly, just kind of maybe a possible reason she acted SO aggressive towards you guys.
Definitely I remember one time brynn wore a bow and Jess threw a fit. But also they were two different dancers, like brynn was a lyrical dancer, while Jojo was a jazz dancer. Jess was just overall jealous because they were both blonde

I remember binge watching dance moms again about 2 years ago (I’m 27 now) and I had to stop watching around the season when you guys came in because the “drama” was just so much for me and I was so upset that they were ganging up on you guys that it gave me actual anxiety. No.1 the girls did look like strippers. No.2 Jesslyn is awful and JoJo is a natural born BULLY, as well as her mum! I loved Ashley all the way through. She shouldn’t regret anything, the other mums were awful to Bryn, and Kendal really seemed to hate Bryn at one point, so I really enjoyed when Ashley pointed out Kendals flaws, and Kendal not being able to cope with getting it back screamed in Ashley’s face…to this day, I can’t stand Kendal and JoJo, they have never proven that they were not actually brats. Elliana was cool too, deserved more credit for her talent, just as Bryn did.

Loved this podcast! Ashlee was by far my favorite mom on dances moms, despite how insensitive the producers made her seem! Ashlee reminded me a lot of my mom and Brynn reminded me of myself, so that’s probably why you two were my faves. You guys got so deep into the dance moms drama and fakeness! I wonder if the producers "fixed" the winning results for Maddie bc Chloe and Brynn were as good and often better than Maddie was. Maddie and Melissa expected a win each and every time; you can see the disbelief on their faces when it doesn't happen

Yeah no Kalani was. She was the second most and she actually beat Maddie and was better

@kit except when you say it that way you’re doing it in a way that puts down the other dancers and wasn’t true. Brynn and Kalani came from the same studio, so they were the best. Kalani won more times at the dance awards it’s a legit fact that they were 1 and 2. but whatever.

When watching dance moms I sided with Ashlee, I could see right through the other moms they were solely jealous of your daughters skill. Instead of focusing making their daughters better dancers, they’d tried to tear both you and your daughter down so she wouldn’t act out as a threat. Crazy.

I think perhaps Jessalyn was insecure because Brynn and Jojo had a similar look and at the time similar body types so she thought maybe it was one or the other? Not an excuse at all and I'm SO sorry she treated you guys poorly, just kind of maybe a possible reason she acted SO aggressive towards you guys.
Definitely I remember one time brynn wore a bow and Jess threw a fit. But also they were two different dancers, like brynn was a lyrical dancer, while Jojo was a jazz dancer. Jess was just overall jealous because they were both blonde
@emmahawk9339 yeah that bow/outfit thing WAS kind of a big deal because apparently it was an outfit Jojo designed and they couldn't lash out at production without breaking the fourth wall so they had to make it about Brynn which was just obnoxious. They could've directed it at Abby at least

I feel like they just wanted to show that the girls were getting older (even though that was probably not the best way to do it). As for what Abby made them dance, the girls were much younger which made it creepier. They could’ve taken the last dance in a different direction and i do agree with you on the moms trying to justify it BUT also trying to “compare” what the moms did to what Abby did by them “stooping up” to her level is a bit much lol. I never thought that Ashlee and I would have so much in common, but she seems really nice. I’m currently in college for animation, but am curious in doing more painting (mainly just drawn). I’d love to see Ashlee give some painting advice or share her work. It’s really impressive that she was able to teach herself all those different mediums.

Christi and Kelly have a podcast and they never mention anything about being fed lines or prompted to play this persona.. i think producers stuck gold with the first season bc the drama was more real and there was already history between the moms and Abby.
There's something so similar about Brynn and Kenzie now that they're older.. especially in photos. I would love to see them go on one another's podcasts. I know they're still friends per say.. but it would be awesome seeing them really rekindle their beautiful friendship.. because I really think that would make their inner child's so happy 💕

Ashley was my favorite Mom ever from Dance Mom’s? She was the least dramatic and argumentative, she was so supportive of Brynn and she’s so pretty!!! IMO, Brynn, Maddie and Lilliana are the top 3 dancers from the show !!!

No.1 the girls did look like strippers. No.2 Jesslyn is awful and JoJo is a natural born BULLY, as well as her mum! I loved Ashley all the way through. She shouldn’t regret anything, the other mums were awful to Bryn, and Kendal really seemed to hate Bryn at one point, so I really enjoyed when Ashley pointed out Kendals flaws, and Kendal not being able to cope with getting it back screamed in Ashley’s face…to this day, I can’t stand Kendal and JoJo, they have never proven that they were not actually brats. Elliana was cool too, deserved more credit for her talent, just as Bryn did.

Omg I love your mom. Ashlee, I have always been on your side! Some of us were able to see through the BS they put you through. Jessalynn was obviously extremely jealous and didnt want Brynn to take the spotlight off of JoJo. JoJo was an obvious star whom we love! But yes Brynn was an insanely talented dancer. Loved this podcast! Ashlee was by far my favorite mom on dances moms, despite how insensitive the producers made her seem! Ashlee reminded me a lot of my mom and Brynn reminded me of myself, so that’s probably why you two were my faves. You guys got so deep into the dance moms drama and fakeness! Definitely one of my favorite podcasts so far, I love it when you guys talk about dance moms and your experiences on the show and afterwards :)

Ashley was one of the best dance moms. If I was your mom, Kendall’s mother would have been knocked out and I’d be in jail. I give her credit for putting up with those nut job mothers. Especially Jill and Jo Jo’s rude mother. She was the most in control mother in my opinion.
As I European, I can say it would have been equally distasteful in Europe.
