@@NepheneeGyattRizz i know its not a bad thing. and ive experimented with it my self. its not typically a popular choice. overall yes the guy did an amazing job. and no dissonance isnt bad. but it can be if used incorrectly
@@ThePinkRebel the C# used in the melody is over an amaj. he's playing the third which is one of the least dissonant notes in that chord scale. the dissonance is probably due to the instrument he's using having a chorus type effect, but dissonance is very popular in almost every style of music (if you look at any dominant chord they have a b5 interval which is seen as one of the most dissonant). Even when looking at how our instruments are tuned in western music, because of just intonation, every note is out of key by at least a few cents, just for the sake of making all 12 keys retain similar relationships to each other regardless of your root.

This was so cool!! The song sounds amazing! I love watching these type of videos they’re so interesting! It was so cool to see you break it down! This artist that I like, Dayglow, used to make similar videos breaking down how me made the music for his own songs so this type of stuff is so cool and interesting to watch!
Wow, this was really inspirational. I myself don’t know much about music theory or how to make music in general but I was able to create 2 original songs (they were bops, according to friends and subscribers). I had my sound engineer friend master them but all everything else took was effort by experimenting in Logic Pro and my crappy little toy piano I had at the time. I don’t know why I quit after that, maybe self esteem issues, I dunno. Watching this reminded me of that process and I think I wanna learn FL Studio now and start making music again. Congrats on getting it in one of my favorite games and thank you for the encouragement!
This is an absolute banger. I want to learn how to compose music like this… i love it, i see it being an emotional boss battle in an indie story game (close enough to what it’s actually for ig) Too bad i cant afford the equipment to start practicing so that dream is gonna have to wait a while. I used to be hella into music but my single mum was going through a rough time and couldnt stand the sound, forced me to stop and later couldnt afford it anymore so i ended up losing that interest for all the years until this year where ive all of sudden decided i want to make a heartwarming dark fantasy rpg indie game with an OST similar to this style all by myself because im a crazy socially anxious buffoon. I do hope i can commit to this dream of mine and somehow learn all the skills and create the game and OST before i turn 30 (im an unemployed 17yo so that gives me a little over 12 years. Im assuming the game may take 5 years of development, my art skills probably 1 more year before im happy with it, game design can be learnt in less than 1, story writing i can do during development but music i assume will take the longest to learn as it’s the second most important thing after story writing, music is what gives it life and emotion. Knowing me though i will probably crumble under the stress of working an never achieve my one goal in life) Anyway, keep up the good work! You’re an inspiration!
everything you need for music production is a laptop capable of running a DAW like FL Studio and headphones. thats it a reccomandation for rlly good but cheap headphones is Superlux HD 681's if you are okay with using open backs, they leak a little more sound than the usual closed backs but sound rlly wide and clear (also they cost like 30 dollars max). if u want more info reply to this comment im happy to answer any questions u may have
this is so satisfying and encouraging to watch. you’re doing so well making your own music without professional tools and knowledge on music theory. keep up the great work!
honestly the part after the melody comes in genuinely sounds like it could be from something like undertale!! this was super great and i hope you get to make music for more projects
Yo this SLAPSSSSSS Spotify and/or separate TH-cam release when?? I'd love to be able to listen to this on loop!! Real talk though: this is really inspiring!! I really hope you make more music content in the future! Gonna go back and watch your other music-related videos now :D
I'm totally in love with this song! I hope you make more music because this is really amazing and belongs in my playlist. I hope people will enjoy this content, I would love to see more.
A tip from someone who also makes they're music with only free stuff is soundfonts, they're very useful. One called sgm has many realistic sounding instruments, you can also find soundfonts that have all the instruments from video games too
as someone who also makes music for fun, also uses it for games (although, i make my own games), and also doesn't know the music theory, this was a really fun video to watch! also personally i think that boss songs are a lot more fun to make than other stuff
Thanks for sharing this with us. Not only is it a fun look into some of the behind the scenes of this aspect of one of the biggest community projects for this game, but it's also really encouraging to hear that you don't need professional music experience to make a banger. It gives me a little confidence boost to go play around and try make something that sounds cool.

I love it!! Your process was so amazing to me, I don't know anything about making music so to me it seems like you know a lot ^^ You're so multitalented, would love more music content on the channel, and congrats Therm!! 💜
Absolutely love your vibe! You can really tell how passionate you are about making (game) music. Could honestly listen to you talk about it for hours! I subbed ( duh. )
Been getting into game dev myself lately, so remind me to hit you up if I ever need a dope soundtrack!
i absolutely love the music-related videos!! it's awe-inspiring to see the process behind it and the magic of all the parts coming together in the end. you truly have a gift, and i'm here for it all the way
however, i love all your video, and no matter what topic it is, it always brightens my day!! so really, just make whatever content you want to! i know a lot of people will love really anything you make, so there's no need to fear how people will react!! can't wait for the next video my dude ^^
AAAAAA, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
And oh my god, that bridge 😩👌✨
I honestly wish i could make music, well i have never really tried to learn, might be something Ill try to learn in a few years. It is one of those skills which I want to have, but just dont.
20:27 was relatable and had me dying laughing for a few minutes! This video makes me want to try making music again
Also 22:30 def makes me think of "holy" noises from binding of isaac (and other games I can't think of atm lol). Great work, and thanks for posting!!
I suck so bad at making music that this was pretty much a tutorial for me. Love it!
This is so good, you really have a talent for this Therm! On another note, my 4 year old daughter is bopping around the room to the song and has asked me to replay it more than once!
whaaatttt? the song is actually fire nice job bro
Holy bonk!!! That is legitimately so so cool! Your music content is always so great 💚
I like how this whole video is so chill and then he sprinkles a bit of chaos in at 16:05 and I lost it. I’ve been laughing about it for too long. Awesome video and honestly super informative too
I could honestly listen to this on repeat for DAYS it's so good
Thanks so much for this content! At school I'm having a Composer Competition and we need to use FL Studio and this is helping me get used to the mechanics AND its by my favorite TH-camr!
Noticed that that you asked about making music for the bosses, plural. Will we be seeing more of these? 👀 Looking forward to hearing more absolute bops from you!!! You have yet to make a song that I don’t love
This was so cool!! The song sounds amazing! I love watching these type of videos they’re so interesting! It was so cool to see you break it down! This artist that I like, Dayglow, used to make similar videos breaking down how me made the music for his own songs so this type of stuff is so cool and interesting to watch!
Therm: "I'm not an expert at making music
also Therm: *proceeds to make an absolute amazing song*
You are way to humble your melodies and chord progressions are always fire and i truly belive you got some talent when it comes to music production.
My toxic trait is thinking i could do this. On another note, this is really cool, and it taught me a lot of things
I know so much about music theory, yet your music is way better than what I can do, keep up the great work!
This video is a masterpiece I’m so glad it was recommended to me
Wow, this was really inspirational.
I want to learn how to compose music like this… i love it, i see it being an emotional boss battle in an indie story game (close enough to what it’s actually for ig)
Too bad i cant afford the equipment to start practicing so that dream is gonna have to wait a while.
Knowing me though i will probably crumble under the stress of working an never achieve my one goal in life)
Anyway, keep up the good work! You’re an inspiration!
everything you need for music production is a laptop capable of running a DAW like FL Studio and headphones. thats it
a reccomandation for rlly good but cheap headphones is Superlux HD 681's if you are okay with using open backs, they leak a little more sound than the usual closed backs but sound rlly wide and clear (also they cost like 30 dollars max). if u want more info reply to this comment im happy to answer any questions u may have
@@ari333prod yo this comment is awesome thanks
this is so satisfying and encouraging to watch. you’re doing so well making your own music without professional tools and knowledge on music theory. keep up the great work!
holy crap therm is over here casually making some of the best music I’ve heard for a mod and this guy says “I’m not good at this” dude cmon
honestly the part after the melody comes in genuinely sounds like it could be from something like undertale!! this was super great and i hope you get to make music for more projects
Yo this SLAPSSSSSS
Spotify and/or separate TH-cam release when?? I'd love to be able to listen to this on loop!!
Real talk though: this is really inspiring!! I've always thought making music was really interesting, but all the music theory stuff is very intimidating to get into, especially as someone who's not really musically-inclined -- you really make it seem a lot more accessible with how you explain your process! I really hope you make more music content in the future! Gonna go back and watch your other music-related videos now :D
I'm totally in love with this song! I hope you make more music because this is really amazing and belongs in my playlist. I hope people will enjoy this content, I would love to see more.
I kinda need Haboo’s reaction to this, considering he said no at first and this is genius
A tip from someone who also makes they're music with only free stuff is soundfonts, they're very useful. One called sgm has many realistic sounding instruments, you can also find soundfonts that have all the instruments from video games too
You may say ur not good at music but you'd be suprised of the quality you just made.
as someone who also makes music for fun, also uses it for games (although, i make my own games), and also doesn't know the music theory, this was a really fun video to watch! also personally i think that boss songs are a lot more fun to make than other stuff
Still so impressive even though you don't have professional training! You would fool me.
