    Another myth that needs debunking is, students fail because of teachers. A teacher can be excellent but if students don't read on their own, they won't pass. Likewise, students who read on their own don't need a teacher that much for learning, except for grading papers

    I disagree with 2 points, that mother tongue education is irrelevant and that teachers in public school are not qualified. There has been strict requirements to become a teacher for decades now. Number 2, many countries outside Africa teach in mother tongue and a black child here struggles to learn in 2nd language. Everyone knows academic English is full of unnecessarily difficult words
