As someone who's upgraded many speakers in many different vehicles, thanks for posting such a detailed video! I always look for a video on unfamiliar make and model, and I wouldn't have thought about the plastic cover for the lock.

You dont have to unclip the door latch wire. Just carefully rotate the interior door cover to expose the speaker. I use alittle milk crate to rest it on.

I found that out too. Got the door panel off, rotated it, and sat it on a fold-out chair. Started to go looking for some needle-nosed pliers and saw that the speaker was right there and easy to get to. Saved me some time not having to hassle with that cable.

Great video, thanks for posting. There seems to be a step missing around the 3:50 mark, or at the very least, an explanation is missing because suddenly some foil-like material appears attached to the door. What is that and what is its purpose?
The Bert My guess is that its just there to help reduce vibration, rattling and distortion from the speaker. Not necessary.
The Bert its Dynamat it eliminates speaker panel distortion and can stop vibration, rattles and squeaks. I have my whole inside door panel covered in Dynamat.

It is used to reduce rattles and unwanted vibration. Very easy to install and use any mount you want.
Dynamat is essential for a clean sounding system, more so than that though, I'd have done the whole door

YAHYA BAHHARY kicker 6inch speakers are underwhelming unless you purchase the top of the line versions I feel like. Pioneer as well. Just listened to some in Best Buy and I liked the way the kenwoods sounded lower price point but better sounding than kicker and pioneer. I like Rockford however I’ve never listened to any door speaker sizes so I’m not sure about that one.

Can you post a link to exactly what wiring harness adapter you need?
Looks like Metra GM wiring harness adapter. Amazon shows me $5.99 for a set with 2 prongs inside and Best Buy shows $13.99/ pair with 1 prong inside the adapter. That's my problem. Not sure if number if prongs matters

Is it possible to remove the speaker grill/cover in the door and replace it with a newer one?
Yeah definitely. You just take the door apart like the video and bend the tabs the hold the grill in (there is a lot of them) and pop the grill out. Thanks for watching!
