      That's probably because we are very unnoticeable. I heard us described as plain vanilla ice cream.
      We don't like to be seen, we only want to be heard and appreciated for what we do for you.
      An example would be how children can seek a parents attention: by being loud, annoying, bad or by being very quiet, obedient, unnoticeable.
      The intp is like the most quiet kid that the parents most of the time even forget it's there because its siblings are causing all kinds of ruckus or problems, drawing their attention.
      Luckily we don't mind that very much, as long as we get enough appreciation. The proverbial headpat Spacey referred to.

    While I don't think I am as articulate as him, when speaking, I can recognize a lot of the thoughts on being really self critical. Also, if a person is praising me but I don't feel like I did my best or made a true accomplishment, I can't take it in.

    I like that Spacey didn't describe Ti as logic.
    I don't believe that Ti = Logic.
    Good logic is an outcome of the ability to use Ti.
    If you see logic as blocks built on top of each other, then a requirement for building a series of blocks is a very acute understanding of each block.
    When you accurately understand the first block you can find another block and add it to the first one.
    Ti might be better viewed as a disposition and insistence on having an acute vision of what things are and what they are not.

    • @JoyceMeng22
      @JoyceMeng22  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! A great way of describing Ti. It's like blocks building on each other. I've had Ti users describe their process to me like it's Jenga, so that's fitting, Jack.

    My INTP take on people is that the number of people who have the exact background knowledge and mood to accept the particular Ti insight I personally am interested in right now is essentially such a small number of people it's a rounding error.
    So I've concluded that I will never push Ti truths anymore unless it's obviously requested, it's just low social skills to try and push a truth the vast majority of the time.

      I find it exhilarating using my Ti. A long time ago I discovered that exercising my Fe only corrupts my Ti, therefore suppressing my natural expression; who I am.
      I let people have it. I let them know I love them, and then let them know they are ignorant and/or hypocrites. And I tell them exactly why.

    • @yustinussetyoyuniarto4816
      @yustinussetyoyuniarto4816 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah yeah i could relate to this. I'm still explore to developing Fe though. Like i'm okay that my Ti doesn't really satisfied because feeling is actually feels meaningful. Like i've been being so robotic avoiding any important feeling, and i just kind of missing one of my important time in my life: what i want?

      @@Bahador_R I express it differently in that I realized that neither me nor others can change much over 20 years old, if we do it takes months, maybe years.
      So telling people they are ignorant in real life provokes otherwise amicable human relationships and sounds like a poor life strategy.
      Anonymous or public debate lets me express Ti without the cost to my few interpersonal relationships.

    It’s interesting how much the xNTPs look like one another. I identified with much of what he said, but I like to go around the block as it were.I wonder how INTP and ENTP fears compare. If some random person called Stephen a bad person, I wonder if he would care at all vs someone he was familiar with. For me, if a random person tries to tell me what I ought to do, I might entertain them a bit, but I am not threatened or fearful. If someone I am familiar with tells me what I ought to do without reasoning, I will start to get very suspicious if I don’t understand where they’re going with it. I almost default to the assumption they are being manipulative. I’m pretty good about teasing out their reasoning now, but it’s still something I struggle with. Doing something for someone just because they want it is difficult.

    Is it possible ENTJ and/or INTP at the same time because one is extroverted and because all the intp stuff makes sense in terms of correlating things like inferiorities like Fe stuff and organizing and gathering data through Ti and Ne and the factor that its to first make a pile of information by gathering knowledge and then forming facts and theories out of it ( which is usually the facts made out of assumptions of the reality).
    One big common reason (as mentioned above) is i think is lack of communicating skills as INTPs donot prefer to defend themselves because of one valid reason, i think is that:" the concequences maybe throughly thought of however, due to this ability they may know the outcomes of what is going to be presented later as truth", and because of the lack of comunication skills they maybe disrespected.
    I like the content of the videos, that you are making because it makes me think that i am not alone in repeatative cycle of people hating.

    First time taking the test, my result was INTP. I relate to his description. I then took the test two times and got INTJ. After watching a couple of videos of INTJs, there are things I can relate to them too, feeling like time is scarce, wanting to be as efficient as possible, wearing dark clothes, being very consistent with a goal, strategist...
    Is it possible that maybe there’s suppose to be a 17 personality type that has characteristics of both INTP and INTJ?
    Honestly, I’m confused.

    I feel like listening to music to match your mood is an enneagram 4w5, 5w4 thing. I'm INFP 4w5 and I can't stand listening to music that doesn't match my mood and I also do that thing where I try to find the most depressing music I can when I'm really depressed. I think it comes from 4 desire for self knowledge, and the 5 search for truth, (even if that's a subjective emotional truth in this case). I just can't stand to sugarcoat what I've got going on inside me no matter how dark or disturbing it may feel. Not sure what enneagram Spacey is, but I'd guess 5 wing 4 based on what he said there.

    • @Slippernips
      @Slippernips 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I thought I was 5w4 for quite a while after getting into enneagram. I am actually 9w1, and the two (5w4 and 9w1) are often confused, as it turns out. Both can have sort of a "dreamy/disconnected/detached" quality. My tritype is 954 (9w1-5w6-4w5) sp/so

    Isn' Einstein considered an INTP because he was very theoretical in his work? He's famous for being a mathematician and his thought experiments.
    That would be contrasted with someone like Marie Curie who actually worked in a lab testing shit.

    • @Slippernips
      @Slippernips 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally agree with Auburn over at cognitivetype.com that Ne+Te is the optimal function pair for something like theoretical physics, especially with Ne leading, and that einstein is ironically more like an ENFP, albeit a brilliant example of one. Please check out his website as there is some great information on the wiki and I think he's doing the best work in terms of vultology as well. Here's an excerpt I took from a conversation on his old forums:
      "It appears that standard-development Ne-lead will most often type as an mbti "I" type, and your average real ENTP will type as an INTP. The original hypothesis was that only the ENTPs with conscious Ti development would type as INTP but it appears that the psychological attributes of Ne on their own are more than capable of providing an ego association with INxx. This is, no doubt, doubly aided by the fact that the MBTI often falsely defines "introversion" as "social introversion"
      As the NeTi profile thus far confirms, the NeTi is "lost in their head" often, daydreaming, losing track of "the real world" and all of those phrases often affiliated with introversion. The disconnect that Ne feels from sensory reality is sufficient to cause these effects. But the cognitive extroversion is seen in how Ne is "always active" and "unable to shut off their thoughts". It is prone to restlessness and often gets diagnosed as ADHD. These markers are usually not highlighted in the MBTI as indicators of cognitive extroversion, but instead one measures whether or not the subject gets along with crowds, likes to go out/etc, to gauge the I-vs-E axis.
      As we've discussed in many places, it is a form of Te (not Ti) that is more stereotypically predisposed to science/technology/engineering/math (areas highlighted for the INTP type). Contrary to common belief, Te is not confined only to the logistical but has an overall understanding of (mechanical) "causal relationships" between objects, whether abstract or concrete. Ti on the other hand is more lacking in a comprehension of mechanical causal relationships, being more prone to discover and quantify the in-itself-ness of ideas and gravitates more to philosophy/epistemology.
      Given this, it's no surprise that ENFPs would type as T types often. And we've also discussed how the INFP with Te ego is essentially the INTP stereotype; the nobel prize winning theoretical physicist/etc. But this appears to extend also to ENFP's (particularly males) due to the aforementioned proclivity to associate oneself to introversion."

      @@Slippernips what sources do cognitivetype.com have to state that te is "the more optimal function for theoretical physics"?

    • @Slippernips
      @Slippernips 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LarsGuerra Well considering there is no empirical evidence for this stuff it's hard to point to "sources" in the way you seem to be requesting. But I would say it's fairly common knowledge across multiple jungian-based typological systems that Te is the most "scientific" function in its methodology, being concerned with finding empirical evidence for its (Ni/Si) hypotheses. Ti users are not as concerned with PROVING things. You will see this nature of the Ti-Fe vs Te-Fi axes bear out in reality where, for example, an INFP is far more likely to be a biologist than an INTP.
      But again, I'm actually rather confused about what sort of "source" would be considered reputable to you.

      @dreamland and that is as much the intp credo then anything ever can be...
      It depends: ergo what are the starting parameters you base your conclusion on.
      A 3d printer can create a whole range of things, and in different sizes even. So the end result of the very same system can widely differ depending on your input, is the design with all its parameters you tell it to print.

    I also feel like Ti is mostly subconscious.
    I like to compare it with a computer in a room for several reasons, or rather in different situations:
    ‐ it is always processing even if others don't notice it, like a computer that is on but with its screen turned off
    ‐ when there are lots of things (or people) going on you will seldom actually hear it, because it's easilly drowned out by other sounds
    ‐ when it is quiet it's sounds first become noticeable as a kind of humming/droning/ in the back of your mind
    ‐ when there is nothing to distract you it can become extremely irritating, because you can't seem to escape or ignore it, because you always carry it with you
    ‐ when you are pushing a computer to its limits it can make a lot of noise, because of the fans blowing to keep the components cool, a similar thing happens when the Ti goes in overdrive: the gentle subconscious/ back of your mind humming becomes a heavy droning almost, sometimes it's even like you feel your mind actually heating up

    • @Pietrosavr
      @Pietrosavr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thinking is literally the most conscious thing there is, whether introverted or extraverted. If you are unaware of it then it's likely Ni not Ti.

    • @som31ne57
      @som31ne57 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Pietrosavr when thinking about it I guess what I described is more the continuous Si scanning of my past experiences and knowledge.
      Ofc some of is also related to the rest of our function stack: Ti Ne Si Fe.
      But in that stack Ti and Si continuously loop over in each other, in worst cases leading to a Ti-Si loop , pretty much analysis paralysis caused by pushing the same input time after time through the same system (Ti) which ofc leads to the same result/conclusion.
      Err basically, there are different possible explanations beside Ni for what I described, which in itself was a ( maybe not precise enough) analogy.
      Edit, yes my original premise was idd prob wrong, and what I described is indeed more likely the Si scanning/ data indexing and gathering preceding the actual computing..
