Spot on nose description. When I went at the nose the first time, my first thought was "Hospital" it was weird.. It almost turned me off. Then when I tasted that first sip of my first dram.. WOW! an explosion of flavor I've never experienced with a whisk(e)y before. Amazing. I was bombarded with the flavors of smoke, sweet clementine, and vanilla. I had to put the bottle up, and save it for winter. It just seems like a great winter whisky to me.
This one is definitely a "sip by the fireplace on Christmas Eve" scotch if you ask me.

My god. This whisky is by far the best I've tried. To me, it's easier to nose than the normal 10 for some reason.

Just finished a bottle of regular 10 year last week, was my first bottle I ever bought. To me it reminded of something like sitting next to a camp fire at the beach with a lot of salt air while having something like a cream soda.

Well you should always see how it tastes undiluted if your tasting cask strength the first time for the expeiance. After that do what you want

Unless you are Superman or have the tongue of a camel, you cannot really pick up the subtle (or even main) notes at real cask strength. If you are drinking neat cask strength, you are just wasting good whisky and fooling yourself along the way.

It is cask strength. You need to add water to dilute it to a lower ABV so you can distinguish the main and subtle notes in the whisky.

I had to stop watching the moment water went into the whiskey. I am sipping Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength while watching, and the flavors will be vastly different since I do not like to dilute my whiskey. I believe every whiskey should be tasted at least once at full strength before adding any water.

I love whisky although I seldom drink. Watched many of your videos. But verbally relating any drink and food flavour with hospital is really not so nice :/
