Subhanallah, what Abu Amina Elias has done here was very courageous indeed. True to the spirit of Tawheed and with Allah SWT as our Protector, we make dua and supplications that He safeguards and protects us from the fitna of these woke phenomena and its pervasive harm, and as he pointed out, that has far reaching afflictions worldwide. Wallahualam, Only God knows best.

I listen to this after seeing a horrific incident in West London where a 17 year old girl stabbed her Mum to death last week. I cannot confirm all the details, but a video was going around of the aftermath showing the girl holding a knife covered in blood, and the story is in the newspapers. The further the society goes from revelation, the more it erodes, and the worst part of it, none of these so called justice warriors who defend everything LGBT, they do not stand up against the decay of society exemplified by the story mentioned above. I guess like the joker in batman said: "these civilised people are only as good as the world allows them to be."
Allahul Mustaan, may Allah guide us all to what is pleasing to Him. Ameen

Salaams, thank you very much for your work brother Paul and for bringing Abu Ameena, a wonderful guest. Just few comments that I hope might help the discussion:
    1. As you mentioned brother Paul the roots of the problem go back to the " Enlightenment ". The political right is thankfully fighting back this extreme leftist ideology but here in the US their dream is to get back to the 50 ies to the beautiful time they say which in fact was when white supremacy was ruling. There are two obvious problems with this:
    A. By dubbling down on racism they are antagonizing the minorities and pushing them towards the left
    B. The root of the problem is not addressed, they think they get to pick and choose which Commands they will follow. Fornication is okay, abortion is not ( only an example).
These two things will prevent healing and the deterioration of the society will continue. Muslims have to stay firm on their religion protecting themselves and giving refuge to other citizens that are looking for safety from this chaos.
    2. RT ( Russian TV) is a weapon of the Kremlin not more trustworthy than the CNN or any other channel. Instead of looking between those two sources of disinformation we better look for and support independent journalism. Your work is a good example of content we can not see on CNN nor RT.
    3. Yes it is correctly explained in the interview how the left gets to define what an individual from a particular group should think and if not, will be labeled as a trator. So a Hispanic or African American that votes Republican will be described as somebody that wants to be white. Again true, but there are people like that and they are historically given some names by their own communities. Historically, not connected to this left movement. Malcolm X calls them " house negros " and there is more.
    4. Connected to this is the expression " multiracial whiteness" mentioned in the interview . Yes, this is a clear attempt to label everyone from the racial minorities that goes Republican. But this is more complex. Whiteness in the US is historically not a stable term. In the beginning Irish and Italians were not considered to be white. That makes whiteness a more complex social structure. More like group of people holding a particular culture and belief. Nowadays Irish and Italians are considered white and there is an attempt to attract Eastern Europeans and Middle Easterners in the group. US whites now have a significantly lower percentage of light eyes and hair individuals then say 100 years ago. Many self identified whites in their family trees have native American, Middle Eastern and African American components.

As a Democrat, the left, I must disagree with a great deal of your statement. The views you attributed to left are not any that are held by party members that I know. The enlightenment is the period from which our founders came and is not far left extremism. The right is the party wishing to return to the 50 s and white supremacy. I see the Democrats as, yes somewhat extreme on some issues, but generally supportive of our constitution and rights of all Americans and workers. The right pushes voter suppression and see all non white humans as not true Americans. Where is your basis for seeing the parties in this manner?

Great interview. Gonna have to disagree with Shaykh Abu Aamina Elias’s article in this instance. I don’t think he’s presenting the view he is describing in an accurate manner.
Post-modernists don’t reject *truth,* such as 2+2=4. Rather they argue that how we understand, describe and interpret reality is a reflection of our identities, values, and socioeconomic conditions rather than having intrinsic properties that can be understood in isolation.
For example, one’s definition of a chair maybe a seat for one person with four legs. Travel to a different part of the world and their image or definition of a chair may look completely different because of their culture and history.
Another example would be the word **woke.** Initially, being woke was an African American vernacular adjective that referred to being aware of systemic inequality and injustice (particularly the legacy of racial discrimination which has been a big problem for decades there).
Now, the word is used almost exclusively by conservative western politicians and their supporters to signal their disdain for any person or organisation that has socially progressive ideas.
Essentially, post-modernist scholars argued that our understanding of the terms we use change depending on the social and cultural context, and thus cannot be used to refer to universal, timeless and unchanging truths.

Here’s a dissident voice: I support wokism (the idea) and post-modernism. Why? Because selected Western « Enlightment » theories have set up standards and imposed them on the whole planet, not allowing any alternative thinking. That’s what led to extreme secular movements, atheism etc. The reason why we, as muslims, are having such a hard time today is that extreme rationalism outside of which nothing exists. What post-modernism brings is the possibility for diversity of thought in which islamic thinking can play a fully/fledged role.
Whatever the words « objective » « truth » « morality » meant under the modernist era in the West, they certainly dod not have the islam meaning, in fact, they mostly meant to be the exact opposite.
I will add this: I remember my history classes on evolution. As a muslim and thanks to my parents’ education, I did not take what was taught as the absolute truth. At best, I thought, well, even if this were true, fact is, God has created the first form of humans.
I don’t see why, children today, wouldn’t make the same reasoning. It's up to the parents to teach them about THE truth and tell them, anything that contradicts the faith, is, at best, transitionary.
Conclusion: as muslims, let’s take this opportunity to add new standards and establish them as alternatives rather than spending all this valuable time fighting those new voices, let's give them room to express themselves and work on what battles we can fight together.

So, no, we are polar opposite on the fundamental level.

This came up while i was driving so I listened, to just be part of the conversation. I feel understanding of one another is the key to peaceful existence. I want to pushback against a few things. I am a Democrat, fairly liberal, and I am an atheist. I had never heard of the group you mentioned but i am in a rural area in midwest so not a surprise. The very rst point i wish to address was the claim that my party did not support religous liberty. That could not be further from the truth. We are doing all possible to prevent the right from erasing church state seperation. That is what protects religous liberty. Even as an atheist I would stand to support your right to worship in your way , most i know would. I study the founders and am very familiar with the understanding they had on this subject and just as free speech, this is essential . Do I believe in any supernatural claims made by any religion, no. Religous liberty is one of our most precious rights. The Christian right Nationalists and white Supremacy groups are the threat to all religous belief or disbelief in America today. Andrew Torba, has put out a statement warning all people in America that we will be under Christian rule soon. So please do some more investigation on this , you are somehow misinformed.
The second issue is with my atheism. You mentioned Stalin, yes he was an atheist, but Stalin was also beaten as a child by an alcoholic father and met criteria for psychopathic and sociopathic diagnosis. These issues would be the basis of his murder of so many. He could have and would have committed these acts regardless of the ideology. There is nothing in atheism that leads any person to commit violence. Actually almost all atheists I know are considerably more likely to show empathy and tolerance toward other beings, human or not. We do rile against the truth of religion but as a general practice we seek to reduce suffering and care for and be kind to our fellow humans. We are all equal.and deserving of respect and dignity, not just a specific chosen group. That is just a quick pushback on what I heard. Please respond if you wish as to allow us to address these issues if you disagree.

I think the discussion here is that while there are several strands to the liberal party, (some you represent and others you dont), there is an underlying movement that is slowly pushing in a particular direction we should all be cognizant off.
Where you stand now and the atheistic movement you talk about will most likely not be the norm 10 years from now. I do see a greater and greater push against religion, which trends indicate will only escalate.
I actually posit that even though you are an atheist with strong morals, your moral values are actually either a direct or an indirect influence of religion. Generally atheists tend not to believe in objective morality, which I think tends to manifest in the likes of Stalin, Pol Pot, Mussolini, Castro, Milosevic and others in the absence of self correcting mechanism/governing principle (but please correct me if I’m mistaken).

@@faisalwho I do not agree with the part about the dem party. I guarantee the christian nationalists if allowed to be in control, they actually already have a 6-3 SCOTUS will be the threat to nonbelievers as well as other religions. This group is very intolerant and inslmaphobic.
The morality part is hard to say for sure. I was once a christian but i see myself as holding a higher set of morals than before. I stand up against racism, hate and persecution. I am far more likely to volunteer or donate to charity than when i was a believer. I actually originally left over those christian nationalists. They are a mob just waiting for a victim. I see some christians with high morals and some seem to have none. i know nothing about those regimes you mentioned but i do network with a large group of non believers and they are highly ethical and moral as pertaining to humanity.

    • @faisalwho
      @faisalwho 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@robinhood20253 I agree with you. I actually identify as a democrat, even though I am a conservative Muslim, because there is an emphasis in the Democratic Party to help the poor and needy while minimizing the war industry. I think it’s ironic that the christians identify as gun-toting nationalist big on free market run-amok capitalism no regulation, build a wall keep immigrants out, when it is safe to assume Jesus (peace be upon him) was a “socialist” (in a sense) and would have very likely voted for Bernie.
As per the direction of the liberals, one only needs to look at France to see how a overly liberal government can move to oppress Muslims, especially women, and I think that is the fear we try to tackle. This isn’t to say there aren’t predominantly liberal countries that are welcoming and provide the freedom to practice, but just like Muslims, christians and other groups, atheists to have bad apples who will ruin it for the rest of us if we aren’t careful.
