Brush Lettering with Akashiya Sai Watercolor Pens

- Today I have a lettering video featuring Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens and a quote from Deepak Chopra.
The quote "Do not try to steer the river," has really spoken to me lately. To me it means multiple things... Do not force things to happen. That there are powerful forces and currents runing through our lives (like a river), and we should not try to control them. But rather move with the current and find strength in it.
Sometimes we chase dreams or fantasies that aren't meant to be. We try to "strong arm" them into happening. "Do not try to steer the river" tells me to find the direction of what's meant to be and to work along side it.

Hi! Love your videos. I've been working on my handletterling and your videos have helped me a lot. Have you tryed a distress ink background and then writing over with a water brush, and then picking up the color with a paper towel?? Would it work? I have only tombow pens and I use them for watercolor backgrounds, but I don't know if they are the same reactive qith water as distress inks
Compare to towbow brushes pens and akashiya brushes pens ,which one do u highly recommend?

How did you get so good with lettering?
Loved this so much! You are so talented. I have a question for you. Are Tombow Dual Tip markers different from the old Stampin Up Markers? The reason I ask is that I have ALL the SU! Markers (they are pretty old) and I can't do the lettering technique with any of them. So I'm not sure if I'm just not capable of brush lettering or if I'm using the wrong tools. Thanks so much!
+TJ ATL They are similar, but the Tombow brush tip is a bit more flexible and don't fray as easily. I find that the ink flows better, too.

What kind of paper did you use to pick up the purple? Also does that ruin the other brush?? It's such a lovely effect
Daisy Su it was a plastic sheet,you can use any insoluble material or plastic material for blending brush markers.

so beautiful. You have inspired me to give brush lettering a try :) I do have a question, however. while I was at jet pens, I came across the Sakura Koi Coloring Brush Pen set. Have you given these a try? They look interesting and wanted to get your opinion if you have. Thank you !!!

Are these arteza watercolor brush pens?
No, not in this video. I used the Akashiya Sai pens in this one.

Yes, very similarly.
Would the color blending still work if I use Zig Clean Color brush pens or no?
Yes, I believe so.
