i’ve recently found myself so relaxed and fascinated with book binding, and book binding ASMR has really helped me fall asleep! thank you for being a part of that!
I just made one of these 2 nights ago but mine was only a mini 5x5" I have made larger ones before, I love making books, its so much fun when its done and you can say, "I made that". Nice work❤

I've come across videos that are more ASMR but male hands/ males doing electronic repairs but this resonates more as a Woman and it feels more feminine and relatable. I never knew how mesmerising binding is, I actually want to look into it as a hobby!

Excellent. Very much how I bind books. If I could offer something it would be to use baking parchment when putting your book in the press then you wouldn’t have the problem of your book sticking to the press. Also after glueing the fabric cover I place a sheet of parchment inside the covers and outside over the fabric then put the book back in the press for a few hours while the glue sets. Also some steel washers under your book press bolts will enable you to tighten the press easier. Thanks I really enjoyed your film.
It's very relaxing to watch you at work! Near the beginning of your video, you use a dark blue tin for your binding materials. What kind of tin is it, and where did you get it? It looks like a good quality tin!

Its likely a combination of issues. The biggest problem is some people pull too hard on the thread. You might be doing that. The next problem could be your holes are too small for the thread you're using. Make bigger holes. But next, your paper may be too weak for sewing. If you're using like... 50 lb newsprint, the paper will be too weak to handle sewing. She's using cotton thread. But she listed her materials in the description. There are pretty good bookbinding tutorials elsewhere on TH-cam.

Then you should see The red turtle by Studio Ghibli, it's a film without dialogues. It is really beautiful, I recommend it.

My grandfather used to bind his favorite books if was one of my favorite memory sitting there and watch him always doing something creative best days
With the internet today you can download your favorite books for free then bind them and put leather on them.

I made a notebook a few months ago, but some of the paper was torn because of the thread I used.... What kind of thread does not tear the paper?
