Exploring Baschurch Railway Station Site - abandoned disused closed - Shrewsbury Oswestry Gobowen

  • A look around the remains of the former Baschurch Station which served the village of Baschurch near Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
    The station was open between 1848 and 1960 (passengers) / 1965 (freight).
    Today the station building, crossing keepers cottage, signal box and water tower all remain while the line between Shrewsbury and Wrexham still operates. There is a campaign to reopen the station as the village has grown since it's closure.

    What a beautiful station building. In nice condition it would be worth a fair sum of money and anyone would be proud to live there. Sadly it would need lots spending on it and somehow if the station site was reopened I don't suppose they would want to bother with it.

      It's such a shame how it's been left. Other buildings there such as the cottage and the unused signal box are really well looked after. Hopefully the building will be brought into use again sometime
