I'm in the Northern Hemisphere and didn't realize you're not and just thought you were VERY proactive.
These videos are honestly like therapy. Love them so much x
Totally agree
I slept in today but totally agree. I’m usually ready with my morning cuppa and glued to the screen lol.
Aren’t they!!
Aw thank you so much lovelies! I’m so glad you enjoy my content and find it therapeutic 🥰 xx
@@RoseryApparel I bought the Pansy pattern because it was my late mother in-law’s name. I never got to meet her. I thought I would make the dress then show my husband and his siblings what the name is. Maybe I can get good enough to shrink it down to baby size. What do you think?
The smocking on that blouse really looks divine! Giant sleeves are such a 1830s detail, which is grand!
I can't wait to see that last dress with the Hazel pattern hack!
Oh I would love to see that Hazel pattern hack!! That grid fabric is stunning. What a good find
I am most excited to see the puffy sleeved blouse with more than one row of elastic gathering. I just bought a pattern like that last week. Yay!
Beautiful fabrics and plans for them😊 I can’t wait for the blouse from freya pattern and maxi green dress🤍🤍🤍
Lovely plans. I would love to see the green maxi dress and the smocked blouse.
Chocolate brown stitching on your floral print for the smocking would be a good accent.
Oh that green fabric with the keyhole tier dress will be stunning! So love that style ❤️
Me too! I can’t wait to make that one 😍
Smocking is actually really easy - give it a go!
I love maxi dresses so will love to see a maxi dress in the sage rayon fabric.
Love the return of the calico prints & what hippie chic calls granny dresses & baby doll/trapeze dresses! These never really go out of style if you are a hippie chick at heart!
A fabulous video, Janelle. What a beautiful spring collection you have planned. 😀
I look forward to all of them. I love the Freya pattern sleeves.😍
Aren’t they incredible! 😍😍
@@RoseryApparel The sleeves certainly are a beautiful statement in the design. 😍
It’s so exciting to have a stash of fabric with sewing plans…my favourite summer dress that I wear is the Hazel dress, I made it in a vintage blue print that reminds me of a Gainsborough painting, happy sewing ✂️🧵🪡
I’m loving the smocking. I love when old techniques are revived in an interesting beautiful way. I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
Would love a video on your favourite boutique pattern makers!
Looking forward to your new projects, can't wait. Lovely fabrics Janelle. Thank you for sharing. Remain blessed xxx
Can't wait to see the brown dress with pintucks! Ohh I'm inspired now... But I only have 2 m of fabric for this dress that could use pintucks... I'll probably have to make a mockup to see if it's possible ;)
Can't wait to see the Hazel pattern hack! I've been eyeing up that Lazy Oaf dress as well 😍
💕 I love your Spring sewing plans Janelle. I've been feeling like a flowy maxi length dress too, I have some Lavender floral rayon ready to go.
I'm excited for your upcoming videos and seeing your makes ! 🌸 🌱 🌼
Highly suggest a smocking machine, so easy but ALSO extremely satisfying to use
Ooh thanks for the tip! I wasn’t sure if they were worth it but now I might need to get one 😄
@@RoseryApparel by hand is also fun too though!
Love that sage green floral fabric! Can't wait to see all your makes.
Love the future projects!!! I hope this year get one of your patterns and get ready to sew!
Can't WAIT for these coming projects!!! Omg omg omg am so looking forward to them! Thank you for sharing Janelle, you're such an inspiration
The sleeves on the Freya pattern are dreamy! Looking forward to seeing that!
As always - great plan. Excited to see how they all turn out. Especially the knit. Are you making a turtleneck to replace your lost one?
Good morning Janelle, really looking forward to seeing your new creations. I wondered if you might consider that on the green floral pattern you try some subtle smocking on the sleeve as a practice? In a tone of green? Another flight of fancy is that with the burnt orange cotton voile you choose a lining colour; mustard? And smock those sleeves in the same colour as the lining? Keep well, regards from Susan.
Great fabrics with great ideas. Will be anxious to see the tutorials.
I'm excited to see the smocking. Close behind is the green floral dress.
My Mum would make me smocked dresses as a child. I have a whole collection sitting there for my nieces to enjoy. The last smocked dresses she made me was a formal dress when I was 14. I wore it for performances. I think perhaps it's about time she made me a new one!
When I was 12 my Mum made me a smocked bluse, and I loved it so much, that I learnt how to smock by hand, and by 14 I helped to smock a new dress. I loved it and I ve kept it years long I was so proud. I'm happy it's now à la mode. I'm looking forward to see your new dress. Thanks Janelle for all your shares, thanks Sarah for reminding me of this lovely old making.
Excited to see the smocking details.
Oh I can’t wait to see these makes. Those style lines are so lovely.
I love your plans - so inspiring - would you be able to do a video on the top fashion instagrams you follow, you get so much amazing inspiration from there, I just can't seem to find great instagrams like that. Could be a great video from you :)
Can’t wait already 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I’m excited to see the smocking! It’s been years since I’ve done that, but there was a smocking machine that my friend lent me that made the pleats perfectly spaced and made the process so much faster. Perhaps you could find one of those for this project. It will be beautiful either way!
My Mum has one of the smocking machines. They're so great! Perfect for making all of the tiny pleats you need
I have always loved the look of smocking. Can’t wait to see how that one turns out! Beautiful fabrics and plans.
Thank you! I’m excited to give it a try!
We really don’t have a winter. Maybe for a few days to a couple of weeks. Here in West Tennessee, USA we will have all four seasons in a 24 hour period. Never leave your windows down. I have an app that is very accurate and I live by it and my husband plus my brother has learned to call me to check on the weather. Praise those who take the time to study meteorology.
I have been collecting fabric. I do have some that I can use for mock ups. Our new addition will arrive in December but I will see for spring and summer since I doubt they will get out much. I’m getting up my courage to cut into the fabric.
Love them all. Can’t wait to see what you make with the Freya! Ohh and the smocking details!
I love your channel and I live in north qld and its already so warm now 😅 so everything summery us perfect
As usual so exciting to see your plans Janelle. And can’t wait for the to see all the projects 🤩
I always love your seasonal sewing plans videos
Your color palette is so perfect for you. Have you had your colors done?
I’m having a love affair with brown at the moment too! Also, my daughter’s name is Freya! Also, smocking is lots of fun - you’ll need to get the fabric pleated first on a special machine (some craft shops do it as a service) and then select your smocking threads. If you google, you’ll find some great tutorials.
I love your channel! 🧡
Thank you 🧡🧡
I am so excited for the hazel dress hack, this is the exact hack I wanted to try but I didn't know where to start!
Oh yay so glad to hear that! I’m working on that video atm and the dress has turned out soo good! 😍
Can’t wait to see how it comes out. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful color fabrics💕👏🏼
Love all the fabrics and your plans for them. Can't wait to see the process!
OMG i can't wait!!!!
Can't wait to see the Spring makes! 😊
This inspired me to actually organise my plans, and a good reminder that I can do them over a season instead of finishing them today. And I need to get the Hannah pattern! 💕
I bought the Pansy pattern because that was my husband’s late mom’s name. I’m going to surprise him when I make the dress.
I am going to try smocking for the first time soon too - my mum is going to show me, apparently it is easiest on gingham due to the grid pattern :)
Tilly and the buttons just released a dress/top simular to the rust pin tucked dress you wnt to recreate.
Ooh thank you! I’ll check it out x
I immediately thought the same thing 😊.
I have not done any smocking myself. I remember that my aunt made a smocked dress for my little cousin that took more than one attempt to complete. (- The smocking wasn't even enough in her eyes so she would take it out and start again.) I think if you approach it as you did your quilt you will enjoy the process as well as the result. The handwork/finishing part of sewing is my least favorite part. Which doesn't really make sense as I enjoy knitting. But with knitting I don't enjoy assembling or blocking. I guess when I get that close I'm just ready to be done.
Smocking is not hard, but it's very time consuming. I think you'll do great at it!
How would you suggest to practice?
Did a little bit of research this week and it looks soo time consuming! Slow fashion at its finest. I’m excited to give it a try!
To practice get gingham fabric. The grid you need is already there.
I just looked on TH-cam and there are how to videos there using gingham. That's how I was taught waaaaaay back in the 60s in Home Economics class.
Loads to look forward to.
long dress from rayon! 💚
good luck! (don't think you need it)
Just curious if you have a budget or maximum dollar amount you’ll spend per metre of fabric when you are fabric shopping. All the fabrics you choose are beautiful and seem to be intentionally purchased.
I don’t really have a budget, but instead only buy a fabric when I genuinely love it/have a project in mind.
I bought one of your patterns and have lovely fabric. I’m just so scared to mess it up cause I’ve only sewn a costume dress before and it was .. something 🙃
Thanks so much for your support! Honestly I think you will be fine as costumes are usually a lot more complicated/intense to make 😊
I have a particular picture of a smocked crepe dress from a 2017 runway saved on my phone. It's a bit nuch for a beginner smocking project, because the whole shape of the dress comes from smocking (so the waist and underbust is smocked, but tapered, so the smocking increses towards the waist). But the smocked blouse really ignited my spirit to start building up smocking skills. One day I'll make my beautiful smocked crepe dress.
Do you have a pleater for your smocking project? If not, you may need to pay someone to pleat your fabric for you. You pay by the inch, as far as I know. I have a pleater but am Stateside so am no help to you.
:(
I don’t have one no… very tempted to get one though! It’s definitely going to be a very time consuming project which I kind of like 😊
