This was very helpful. I have been frequently finding myself with pain and tension in my mid back/latissimus dorsi area, which I think is from a combination of playing piano and guitar daily and then having my arms outstretched all day typing on a keyboard for work, as well as when driving. I’ve also been finding I’m getting a bit of anterior pelvic tilt and my hamstrings are insanely tight - it seems like these issues are all connected from what I’ve researched so far. The foam rolling and stretches have helped to relieve the back pain though.

  • @potentiallyunfunnyguy9716

Thanks for the tip on actually holding the foam-roller on the tense spot. It makes the excercise so much more effective.

You absollute legend. Finally my problem went away and I am no longer cranky. Also, for anyone who doesn't have a foam roller, you can also ask someone to massage you. If you don't have someone to massage you, try rubbing your back against the edge of a doorframe.

Having watched the whole video, I learnt that the only exercise I will be able to do without causing pain elsewhere is the child’s pose. Even that I’m going to attempt it on my bed. No doubt all the exercises are good for what they’re intended for, but would help to include some for people with medical conditions like fibromyalgia/arthritis where mobility is limited. Thank you.

These seem good in theory but if your muscle is strained these exercises may cause pain and further inflame the muscle and delay the recovery. Could you address this or provide alternate moves for those that literally can’t do those moves due to injury?

Just not sure if I have lats pain. This sharp shooting pain comes and goes in the same area and stays 10-15 minutes or so. There is a bit pain left after that but the next day there isn't anything and all of sudden it comes back when I am playing or excercising or reaching something in the back.

Also getting sharp stabbing pains in spine (not during driving , but just leaning back on something/ changing posture/side when lying down. Not sure if it’s related to lats pain. Will follow the exercises and update God willing.

This was very helpful. I am in physical therapy for frozen left shoulder. I have developed so much pain after 2 mo of physical therapy and its occurring at the base of my lattisimus dorsi now. It is so bad I thought I was having a kidney stone that was stuck at the base of my lower back/pelvic area. So after going to emergency room and having a catscan i found out it was not a kidney stone. After watching this you tube video I see that all the exercises I am doing for frozen shoulder could be contributing to my pain at the end of my lattis dorsi. Perhaps I am doing them incorrectly. Your video has been very informative and I am going to try these stretches. Thank you so much
