So the breathing out is what lengthens it? It's weird because when I hang and I breathe out it sends a tearing sensation into my triceps, perhaps the tight lats are impinging nerves going to the triceps?
For the first stretch, how do you prevent the left arm from rotating inwards? I have to exert strength to maintain its position like as shown in the vid, else my hand will almost be touching the ground.
I have no idea whether my right lat is "tight" or not. All I know is that I'm have pain with activity and want to make it stop. I have no idea what "releasing" a muscle means. All I know is that I want some pain relief.
@@retiredmenace Please get some help. I'm alarmed by your comment. You should be on controlled pain medication. I'm not a doctor - but when you say you want to "go out" I'm concerned. I don't know you, you don't know me, but I honestly feel for you. I'll say it again: please get some help; there are pain clinics. I wish you the best.
@@aronszabo8689 gotta strech while listening to your body and the tissue you're streching, to not fight them but engage them in the movement, even slight then it becomes streching, pully a muscle real hard just work with a proper mindset, find your set then youll be good with streching
The first stretch is the most effective lat stretch I’ve ever done. Thank you, Conor!
Such awesome content you put out Conor. Top notch mate. Love your work.
Thank you very much. It's good to know people are getting value out of it!

Is there a simple self-test to find out if one has tight lats or not?
Also when you say big back arch at 0:34, does that mean an arch in the thoracic spine or lumbar spine?
0:41 to skip
Thx mate
Pure gold Conor, keep it up!
Thanks Alberto! Will do :)
Thank you!!!

If you have tight Lats, should you also do light resistance band training to stretch them? I heard full range light weights is better than stretching
I find stretching them without strengthening them just irritates them more and they become tighter
