I enjoy listening to your videos when I'm doing tasks that leave my mind active to think of other things, like house work, updating my Etsy store and such. This one I'm definitely going to listen to again when I'm able to write things down so I can remember them and actually put them into practice

First off, guilt is not a feeling. Shame is a feeling.
Secondly, I don't see anything wrong with procrastination. It is simply a sign that people don't really want to do something. That's not always bad. It just might give someone the chance to think things through and find something more important to do.
Lastly, I was glad to see that importance was placed on making a plan. A goal without a plan usually never gets achieved. That's all that really needs to be said about being productive or just doing things that we want to do. There is no sense in trying to look at this from the perspective of making people feel bad because they procrastinate.

There might be a lot of viewers with ADHD here given the topic, and I just wanted to leave a comment I wish someone had left for me to discover. A lot of these productivity methods do NOT work for people with ADHD. Many of these methods assume that the user has a typical capacity for motivation and organization, which we all know ADHD brains do not. Eat the frog? You mean stare at the problem all day knowing that you have to do it, but somehow your brain is paralyzed and all of the sudden it's 5PM and you are overwhelmed by a spiral of self doubt and guilt? If you have ADHD, you gotta understand that these methods for so called "normal" people sometimes can actually be worse for you. When I started researching productivity methods specifically designed for people with ADHD, I finally feel like something clicked.

    • @Burnthestigma420
      @Burnthestigma420 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

What methods do you recommend for people with ADHD?

    • @kokuamedia7946
      @kokuamedia7946 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Burnthestigma420I haven't found a one size fits all method or program from one source, but just knowing that classic motivation/productivity methods often don't work for us is a big step in the right direction.
You can search for "ADHD productivity" or "ADHD motivation" and start to figure out what works for you. The methods themselves aren't crazy different from normal methods, but I find that they are more tailored to the short attention span ADHD brain that is always looking for dopamine. Pomodoro timer method is a good one, changing your environment of work, playing video game music with no lyrics, using a body double (real or virtual) , making games out of your task list.. there's a lot of content out there that talks about these methods. Good luck!

00:00 🐸 Introduction to "Eat That Frog" by Brian Tracy
The video introduces the concept of "eating the frog" as a metaphor for tackling the most important task first.
01:08 📝 Rule 1 and Rule 2 of Frog Eating
Rule 1: Prioritize and tackle the biggest, hardest, and most important task first.
Rule 2: Avoid procrastination by promptly taking action; don't spend too much time contemplating the task.
    02:16 🔍 Seven-Step Formula for Goal Setting
Clarity is crucial for personal productivity; setting clear goals helps overcome procrastination.
Seven-step formula for setting clear goals includes deciding what you want, writing it down, setting deadlines, listing necessary actions, organizing tasks, taking immediate action, and doing something daily towards the goal.
06:11 📅 Plan Every Day in Advance (10/90 Rule)
Spend 10% of your time planning to save 90% in execution time.
Plan tasks the night before to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Differentiate between important and unimportant tasks using the ABCDE method.
    08:57 ⏳ Consider the Consequences (Long-Term Perspective)
Long-term thinking is crucial for success and predicting future prosperity.
Get crystal clear on long-term goals to improve short-term decision-making.
Regularly evaluate potential consequences of tasks to prioritize effectively.
    10:33 🔄 Practice Creative Procrastination
    Deliberately procrastinate on low-value tasks.
Continually review tasks to identify those that can be eliminated, automated, delegated, or improved for efficiency.
13:43 🅰🅱🅾 Use the ABCDE Method Continuously
    Prioritize tasks using A, B, C, D, and E categories.
Always start with A1 tasks, the most crucial, and move on sequentially.
Delegate tasks that others can do, freeing up time for high-priority items.
15:49 📈 Focus on Key Result Areas
Break down every job into 5-7 key result areas.
Identify and excel in these key areas to ensure success and growth.
Clarity in key result areas is essential for personal and professional development.
19:00 🎯 Apply the Pareto Principle
The Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) emphasizes focusing on tasks that yield the most significant results.
Identify tasks in the top 20% and prioritize them to maximize productivity.
Avoid the temptation to clear up small, less important tasks first.
21:18 💼 Apply the Law of Three
Identify the three most important tasks contributing the greatest value to your job or life.
Focus exclusively on these top three tasks for increased productivity.
Communicate with superiors about your focus and seek support for delegating or outsourcing less critical responsibilities.
23:24 🍲 Prepare Thoroughly Before You Begin
Preparing thoroughly before starting a task is akin to gathering ingredients before cooking a meal.
Organize, plan, and gather resources to enhance task execution efficiency.
Proper preparation sets the stage for successful task completion.
    23:38 🗃 Workspace Organization
An organized and tidy workspace enhances focus and productivity.
Clear your desk, collect necessary materials, and resolve to keep your workspace neat.
24:46 🌍 Taking Goals One Step at a Time
Break down significant goals into smaller steps for manageable progress.
Choose a goal, list its steps, and immediately take the first one.
    26:11 📚 Upgrade Your Skills
Mastering new skills is crucial for productivity.
Read daily, convert travel time into learning time, and attend courses and seminars.
27:16 🔍 Identify Your Key Constraints
Identify and focus on the primary constraint hindering goal achievement.
Constraints are often internal; dedicate time to resolve the limiting factor.
29:34 🏋 Put the Pressure on Yourself
Develop self-discipline and set deadlines to enhance productivity.
Set strict deadlines, plan tasks, and increase self-esteem through achievement.
31:50 💡 Motivate Yourself into Action
Your mindset and interpretation of events determine motivation.
Cultivate optimism, refrain from complaining, and seek solutions to problems.
    35:13 ⏰ Develop a Sense of Urgency
Create urgency to boost focus and productivity.
Set deadlines, ignite a sense of urgency, and gain momentum.
    36:50 🎯 Focus Your Attention
Multitasking is an illusion; concentrate on one task at a time.
Plan your day, eliminate distractions, and work nonstop for focused periods.
38:40 🍰 Slice and Dice the Task
Overcome task overwhelm with salami slice and Swiss cheese methods.
Break tasks into smaller steps or work for short periods with breaks.
40:28 🛠 Single Handle Every Task
Persistently focus on a task until it's 100% complete.
Reducing interruptions and maintaining focus increases efficiency.
42:04 ⏳ Create Large Chunks of Time
Concentrate energy on limited targets in focused time blocks.
Plan fixed time slots for specific tasks and treat them as appointments.
    42:45 📴 Technology Management
Take control of technology to prevent time wastage.
Turn off devices, unplug periodically, and manage digital workspace.
44:21 🧹 Clear Your Digital Workspace
Enhance productivity by organizing and clearing digital space.
Disable unnecessary notifications and segment communication channels.
