    It's been a long time since I've invested so many hours (over 40) into the production of a single video. What should have been just a "Two Minute Tuesday" episode in the beginning, turned out to be one of the best produced videos on my channel - at least in my opinion.
    If you're appreciating what I am doing, just leave a like on this video, comment & subscribe to my channel.

      Could have also gotten position to play the 7 into the upper left corner so you would be heading towards the 8.

    You're neglecting the fact that the 7 ball also goes in the top 2 pockets (where the 8 ball is).
    If you take this into consideration, the margin for error becomes much bigger if you try to leave it for the side pocket.

    • @chrisross33
      @chrisross33 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was thinking the same thing. I thought a good plan would be to stun the first shot and come off the bottom rail so that you were shooting up table on the 7 into the opposite corner along the same side where the eight is located. So that you would be headed up table toward the 8 with a follow shot. So was a bit surprised you did not set up for that shot to show us subscribers as you are so good at cue ball control you could have easily done so. And if off a little bit using this strategy you may very well have been headed towards the opposite corner on the rail where the 8 is located. Such that following this shot you could be on the 8 from either Direction with the angle to easily get on the 9. It seemed that your preferred strategy had the propensity to leave one with a very thin cut in order to get up table. Versus a more direct solid follow shot. Nevertheless this was an excellent video. One must absolutely plan ahead and get on the right side of the line that will get them to their next shot. And ideally always be thinking several shots ahead. Nice job as always Sharivari!

    Shoot the 6 ball softer setting your self up for the 7 ball upper corner. Shoot top on cue and roll up for the 8 ball. The shot on the 8 will give natural roll back for 8 in either lower corner pocket. Easer out

  • @shuchengchao
    @shuchengchao 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would still go for the side pocket but shoot on the softer side so if I don't get to the perfect side pocket angle, I may still shoot it to the corner and thus almost always have an angle going down the table

    • @jamesdavis8731
      @jamesdavis8731 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly the way I would play it also. The problem with this video is that he takes one shot for each runout that HE DOES NOT LIKE, gets bad position, then says that is not the way to go. But yet his preferred way also has issues if it is not hit right. It all comes down to what people feel comfortable shooting.
      His way is fine, but there are many players that could run out doing it differently. Getting position for the 7 in the side pocket to get on the 8 is EASY nothing difficult about that.

    Very useful video. But i have some advice for your channel if you want to grow bigger. You are pool channel, and from beginning until this video, every videos are all about tutorial.
    I think from now on, you should try to add some entertainment on your pool videos.
    How about some pool challenges with an amateur and you play using crappy cue? Or some reaction videos to some player's best shot and you try to recreate it?

  • @timmcdaniel1715
    @timmcdaniel1715 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would a straight shot on the 6 with dead stop place the 7 straight in the corner? I see you tried the 7 in the corner position by running to the rail first. Or was the entire scenario planned with the angle position on the 6 to start? As always, a great video.

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The scenario was planned with an angle, so that we have more possible options. If it was dead straight, I would have gone for the upper corner pocket for the seven.

  • @maxlahoud

    So for high speed inside/outside spin, it’s more high than inside/outside? I struggle with this, maybe from going too far out and not high enough on the QB?

    It's hard to tell from the camera angle, was shooting the six to line up a carom to pocket the 9 with the cue ball off the 7 an option?

    • @poolplayer1961
      @poolplayer1961 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No... because that Karam is a high-risk shot... if you're off just a hair you hang the 9-ball in the corner and it's game over... when you have only four balls to run and none of them are locked up with each other it's almost always best to run the four balls

  • @williamwiesand1870
    @williamwiesand1870 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is it when I have the cue ball and object ball "in almost a straight shot", and apply left or right hand english does this happen: left hand english causes object ball to go to right; and visa versa right hand english makes object ball go to left.

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because of "Spin Induced Throw" and "Swerve". After watching this video you will understand it:

    I would just slow roll the 6 and shoot the 7 in the corner with follow.

  • @frytka12345
    @frytka12345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't quite agree with your shot selection from the 6 ball to 7 ball. With the shoot you chose you're basically playing for a single (bottom right) pocket and if you underhit the position you're behind the 9 ball and have no shot on the 7, loosing any chance to run out. If you chose the other option you basically have no chance of getting hooked + you're basically playing for 4 pockets instead of 1. If you take missing the position into account (which is always an option unless you're a very good position player, and IMO the counter spin is easier to misjudge than the running spin) you have way more options with the second option versus the one you chose, not to mention pocketing the ball is easier with the other option. In case you overrun the position you pretty much have the same options for both shots (combination, draw off the 9). If I was playing on the table I don't know I'd actually never choose your option.
    No offence though, I admire and appreciate your work on the channel and all the productions, just disagree on the shot selection here :)

  • @raybrimer4176
    @raybrimer4176 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The way the balls were set the first time the only way to shoot the 7 in the corner was to shoot the 6 bring the cue ball off the bottom rail with low left spin off the side rail across the table to shoot the 7 into E. That is why so many people would shoot the 7 in B or C . After you moved the 6 farther past the 9 then it was obvious E was the best choice

    Why did you go one rail inside to the 7 instead of 2 rails? Wouldn't 2 rail inside give more room speed control wise? Instead of risking getting stuck behind the 9 hitting too soft, or going long hitting too hard.

    • @Sharivari
      @Sharivari  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what I tried to communicate with that small info box. The only con is that you might end up frozen or too close to the rail, and the shot gets at bit more difficult. But if you are feeling comfortable executing it properly, then go for it.

    • @larryl2406
      @larryl2406 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was my thought too. Two rails opens up the angle and takes snookering yourself out of the equation.

  • @beercanbrian1880
    @beercanbrian1880 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good exorcize because this is a fairly common scenario in 9-ball. The location of the 9-ball added a degree of difficulty for getting proper position on the 7 in the corner which is the correct shot for getting down table for the 8. You always want to consider the best angle for getting position on the next ball using natural tanget lines versus having to power the cue ball into position. Not the end of the world for a good player but for the lower level player, powering the cue ball around the table is a no go.

  • @SaveeYT
    @SaveeYT 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    No offense but i really strongly feel not getting position into the side with the 6 to the 7 was a skill issue. The position widow is huge and the execution is easier than using inside spin. And for some magic reason ur speed control with inside forcing forward was perfectly in line. Its amazinf using inside spin yoy have better speed control.

    Why wouldn’t you pinch the 6 ball and play the 7 in the top right corner by the eight with follow? Seems most natural. I think you can hold up the cue ball with a drag shot and there’s the largest position window there. Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them.
