Thank you for the awesome shots - those first couple! Knowledge shots. Relatively easy but impossible if you don't know about them. Some require knowledge and skill - I like the impossible 90 degree cut shot where the object ball is frozen on the rail and the cue is directly opposite it and you aim to the rail exactly adjacent to the object ball but spin the cue into the object ball to cut it along the rail or the shot where the object ball is frozen to another one (like two balls were spotted) and you have ball in hand above the headstring - you shoot directly into it from an angle (about halfway from the middle to the side along the headstring) with a lot of draw and the object ball picks up top spin and goes into the corner - I guess it would caroom off the ball it's frozen to and start straight towards the side, but since it has top now it rolls into the corner). The shots you mentioned were even more valuable because (correct me if I'm wrong) they didn't require a lot of skill just, mainly, knowledge. I did have one question to hector you a little bit. How many takes did you have to make to get the shot right after 9:00? I can see you cut to another section of tape. I'm fucking amazed by that shot. So that's a double kiss where the object ball has picked up top spin (is that part of it?) and the kiss deflects it into the pocket. That's fucking ridiculous (that such a thing is possible to make with some chance, but, as you said, you're simultaneously shooting a safety). I don't play anymore but I studied the game for awhile. Super valuable information (for anyone who's interested in the game). Thanks.

🙋🏼♀️HEY EVERYONE, Did anyone else notice that on that the last 3 ball shot (@ 8:55 ) the 3 ball was on the RIGHT side of the side pocket, but when he went to actually shoot the shot (@ 9:06) the 3 ball magically moved to the LEFT side of the side pocket? I guess he couldn’t pocket the 3 ball from that position in the rail. Then if you watched the cue ball after he made the three it looked like he scratched the cue ball. I’m sure we all realize no player is perfect and we all scratch on shots. But that’s a good thing to show in videos and explain what not to do. This is why I also like watching Sharivari and Lil Chris. They are also great at showing you how to make your game better. I like watching his videos, I just wish he would either show on the ball or in a graphic exactly what English he was using.
some nice shots..didnt show the sewer in the side though conveniently cut out,.those tight corner shot sill keep in mind a nifty trick there for those they happen more often than some might think.
I wish u did this on a diamond table. Every time I try any of these shots on a good table I don’t even get close but when I try them on a crappy bar box it works. Your pockets are huge. I Can’t trust most of these. I like your drive. Keep it up.
On the last shot you changed the object ball to the other side of the side pocket. So is that where the object ball HAS to be in order to make the shot, or is it doable from the other side too, but easier from the side you ended up switching to? Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Awesome...but the double kiss set up was from north of the side pocket to the far right corner pocket, but when you actually did it you did the right pocket but from south of the side pocket.

Yeah the negative comments are from bangers looking for a quick way to impress friends at a bar. Serious players want to know the physics to understand how to adapt it to other shots. Good video, but just take that last one out completely, the explanation and demo dont really work together.
He should have cited this shot comes from books, if I recall the 99 critical shots by ray martin. Credit needs to be given where due to original authors of pool shots like this ! Most of all his shots taught in these videos are coming from Bjarnes book of billiards, and Ray Martins 99 critical shots.

I like the nfl balls, and also those exotic looking pool table balls but don't know if I should buy those just to play with friends in garage man cave.. I don't know how they affect playing since we are used to the regular pool table balls.. I just wanted to get something more exciting than the regular cue balls

That first shot was definitely made because of a double hit buy the cue ball on the nine, not due to spin. At least, I'd like to have seen high speed video of it.

Da Bossman you are completely right about it not being for beginners. In fact the title.. the description.. and even channel name.. all give pretty good indication that it wouldn't be for beginners. The channel is after all, not called Dupree Basicshots.. it's called Dupree Trickshots. Instead of criticizing they should use their energy to go find some pool videos suitable to their ability.
I've broke and ran many tables, that doesn't mean these pockets aren't extremely forgiving. Neither of these 1st 2 shots would work on the diamond tables around here.
For people with very short attention spans who don't really want to understand what you're doing / how to do it themselves. This video is probably interminable. For someone who wants the information these are nicely explained. It would be super wild to see them filmed with slow motion from above and have some narration to accompany.
Right or Left spin? That's a perspective issue for viewers. Why not use counter-clockwise/ clockwise so viewers will understand the spin from our view and yours?

Great verbal info. Like your videos. I have a question about English and combos and carom shots. You have a two ball combo shot and you need the cue to end up in another area so you use English, this English is transferred to the first ball, will this throw the combo or the carom shot off now?

Video games aren't even close to being at the table, imho. The way you hit the cue ball is incredibly important, so even if the physics are technically correct for a certain type of shot (which I doubt), it's like simulating a machine that is shooting the shots, not a person. As one example, I'm learning to "get down" on the ball, and change my sight line. Before that, I'll look at the ball from a higher view, then get down, and if my brain agrees that it looks like it will go in from both high and low views, I'll shoot. There are also shots I'll miss if I think about it too much, and "playing by feel" is a thing.
2:27 That's a foul. Cause it's a double hit; cue ball hits the object ball then object ball hits the cue ball back after hitting the rail. Although it may seem fine in normal speed cause it happens so fast, you could detect it in super slow motion.
A double kiss foul usually happens when cue ball and object ball are frozen to each other. A double kiss off of the rail is not a foul shot. The object ball rebounds off the rail first and then kisses the cue ball.

these are both definitely a double kiss...u can even hear the 2 separate noises if you put the video in slow motion for the first one...the 2nd one is also a double kiss but it happens extremely fast so its even hard to hear in slow motion...yes rails do compress...but its impossible for their not to be a double kiss when you hit the cue ball full into a ball on the rail no matter where it is on a rail including like this on the rail...what happens is the object ball compress the rail and when it stops compressing the cue ball is there resulting in a double kiss...
I have tried many times and I am unable to make any of these shots. The closet I can get on the corner shot is having the object ball rattle in opening of the pocket.
Michael Leppelman you can't make it because he doesn't know what he is doing.....he is apparently watching vids and then making his own vids.....I normally don't get involved......to make these shots you must understand these are NOT throw shots.....they are double-kiss shots.....and these are shots that depend on many variables.....this is undoubtedly a nice young man but he is not a top player.....probably a league player but doesnt know what or why ......he's no expert...just have fun and learn.....don't rely on a teacher unless they are a top competitor like Shane or similar....most others are phony
Jay Thomas Reset I sent him a video and he was able to tell me exactly what I was doing wrong. I tried his suggestion and I was able to make the shot everytime afterwards.

2:30. Is it right spin or left spin for the cue ball? I think right spin makes the object ball spinned in clockwise
He wants the ball to go to his left, so it is right spin in order to transfer left spin to the object ball. You're correct.

You first shot, the "spin it into the pocket" shot is actually a double kiss shot. You can tell by where the cue ball goes after the shot.
Mike Harkins a push shot is when the cue is in contact with the cue ball at the same time as the cue ball is in contact with the object ball.
Nakadu since you are trying to be smart, a push shot or push out is also a 9 ball term with another meaning

these are both definitely a double kiss...u can even hear the 2 separate noises if you put the video in slow motion for the first one...the 2nd one is also a double kiss but it happens extremely fast so its even hard to hear in slow motion...yes rails do compress...but its impossible for their not to be a double kiss when you hit the cue ball full into a ball on the rail no matter where it is on a rail including like this on the rail...what happens is the object ball compress the rail and when it stops compressing the cue ball is there resulting in a double kiss...

At 9:00 the 3 ball changes from left of pocket to right of pocket...
I have tried many times and I am unable to make any of these shots. The closet I can get on the corner shot is having the object ball rattle in opening of the pocket.

Michael Leppelman you can't make it because he doesn't know what he is doing.....he is apparently watching vids and then making his own vids.....I normally don't get involved......to make these shots you must understand these are NOT throw shots.....they are double-kiss shots.....and these are shots that depend on many variables.....this is undoubtedly a nice young man but he is not a top player.....probably a league player but doesnt know what or why ......he's no expert...just have fun and learn.....don't rely on a teacher unless they are a top competitor like Shane or similar....most others are phony
Jay Thomas Reset I sent him a video and he was able to tell me exactly what I was doing wrong. I tried his suggestion and I was able to make the shot everytime afterwards.
