Man thank you for all the awesome reviews. I know there’s a lot of guys like me out there who don’t live close to a decent music store and can’t afford to buy everything we want to try out. Your reviews are what I use to decide what I want to spend my money on and you haven’t steered me wrong yet.
Man, what a great pedal! Sounds incredible. Lots of harmonic overtones and complexity. My kinda distortion. The palm mutes roar and pound my eardrums. Fantastic :)
Just like plugins, pedals are getting SO GOOD! Not saying that there hasn't been great pedals in the past. There most definitely have been some iconic pedals in the past. Its just that here in thevlast couple years things have been changing for the better. In my opinion of course.
That actually sounds amazing. I was about to spend $200-400 on a Solar Chug or KSR Ceres. But I’m now seriously considering the 2716. The fact that I’m a big fan of Seth Morrison/Skillet may have something to do with that…
Except that he's playing a 5150 and I'm an idiot. I came into the tube-amp game late, so to me they are all iterations of the 6505. So (revised) 1689+2716+5150= the 9555 tone.
i wonder how different this is to the ‘Dr Boogie’ circuit that’s been floating around for a while 🤔 (both JFET-based dual rec preamp clones with the exact same controls)
I have been looking for the perfect Rect o Box for close to 20 years since I’ve sold My Triple w matching slant. Best highgain I’ve ever had (personally IMHO) . From hotone,Mooer and Nux and Joyo and Valeton and Blackstar and Two notes, Damage Control, Radial, Tech 21,Boss,Korg,Vox,digitech, Zoom, TC, Johnson, uuuughhh I can keep going and going I cannot find one that truly makes Me happy. I get very close to it with Amp sims, and this video sounds amazing and I may sell what I’ve settled with if only You could do a comparison! I have a AMT R2 with a tube screamer clone and 7 band EQ into a Mooer Radar thru a powered speaker cab and monitors. Sounds good. But not the greatness I used to haul everywhere to play live. This may be My next trial. Kyle, I would happily send You the R2 if You could do a shootout or tell Me if this pedal? Or the AMT R3 with the tube and Soldano circuit. Oh shit? Have You sold Yours Yet?
Well.. Always been looking for a rectifier in a box as the amp heads are just crazy expensive in Europe.. Just have to check if this is sold in any store in Europe..
How would you compare this to the Friedman be-od or the revv g3? I'm playing through a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 and need something for heavy Gojira-esque tones
kyle’s got a demo of the G3 if you wanna compare that to this video.. i just recently built a G3 clone… it’s not as scooped as this one. it’s pretty good. sounds like this: th-cam.com/users/shortsq-9QErn21-Q
Have you had the chance to try all the different Master Effect "amp-clones" yet? I remember you've had at least a couple of them on like the Martyr and the Marauder, but which do you like the best out of them?
So… I got one of these and I’m actually very disappointed in it. But let me say that now, after much testing, I think the issue is my amp, not the pedal. I have an ‘89 JCM800 50 watt combo with 1x12 Celestion. I had the opportunity to turn the thing way up the other day. I tried the 2716, I tried a Behringer Ultra Metal, I even tried a vintage Maxon OD-808 overdrive that I bought in Japan in 1980 (basically the first tube screamers as Maxon made that same circuit for those first Ibanez TS pedals). Anyway, I couldn’t get anywhere near the tone that Kyle and everyone else gets with the 2716. I’m using a Jackson JS32 DKA through a Joyo EQ into the 2716 and into the clean channel of the JCM800. The JS32 has the stock Jackson pickups in it which aren’t Duncan’s or Dimarzios but they’re not terrible either. Anyway, I hated every tone I got with that setup. So I’m gonna blame it all on the JCM800. All these years I’ve had it and now I figure out that I e never really liked the sound of it. Well, I can’t afford a real MB Rev F or a 5150. But… Something that was highly recommended to me by my long time guitar guru best friend is the Boss Katana MkII. They come in a 50 watt combo or a 100 watt combo or head. The 100 watt has a ton of cool features and is very affordable for me. So, what does anyone who cares think? Would I be able to get anywhere near this kind of tone with a different amp, namely a Boss Katana MkII… probably the 100 watt head?
I guess you and others had bad experiences. I've been fine there. It still exists and gets packed, from what I remember. I was born and raised in America, but left years ago.
Got this yesterday and running it through my PS2 it sounds glorious 👏

kyle i liked this pedal much more than revv stuff or diezel wh4 preamp pedal. and it costs less. you have saved me literally :)

This dudes upload consistency is just Balls! The playing too;)
That’s killer sound crisp, great lows dialed in impressed
Pretty badass pedal, and at 149 it’s even better
I would LOVE to have heard this into IR's. Sounds like it might be a great direct recording option...
Same!
Nice job! I can admit I love mine! Totally a Rectifier in a box! Tight high gain all day.
Really digging this one! Might be my next pedal.
Totally worth it man, one of the better preamp pedals I've used!
You sold me on this. I just ordered one and was even able to use a 15% off coupon. This pedal for 122 dollars is an absolute steal.

My name is Seth. Hehe. Shalom.
Awesome tone at the intro! The new room color kicks ass too!
This dude sounds AMAZING
1689 into 2716 into 6505 = the 10910 tone!
Right on

Really nice emulation box to be sure.
That pedal sounds really good!!! Super thick and heavy!!!
Love it dude! 🤘 Great video!
That’s an impressive sound from a box
Woooo one of the best preamp pedals iv heard! Nice Kyle.
I'm also named Seth. Shalom. Happy Holidays! :3

Great sounding, complete review ... Nice !
Thank you!
Great another pedal I need to get. Sounds sick!

"Now I want Applebee's..." 😂
awesome demo! How does it compare to amptweaker, amt, revv, friedman, etc?
Sounds really great!
Agreed! Thanks man!
There aren’t any off frequencies which makes this pedal easy to the ears. They did a good job designing it
damn, that sounds good! especially boosted, but it's surpringsly tight even not boosted!

I preordered mine a couple days after the release of this video and it still hasn’t shipped. Hopefully I get it soon

Currently using the Revv G4 to get this Rec tone. Would this do a better job?

You got that thing dialed quick. Didn't take long for you to get that look on your face that's said, Oh Fawk Yeah!
It was easy, pedal sounds great!
Thoughts on the Diezel Herbert pedal vs the amp?
Sounds fantastic.
Sounds brutal 🤘🏻
Sounds good.
If it’s a dual rec pedal, why u not comparin‘ duuuud?? Why u NOT?
Thanks 😂
"Holy Sheep Shit, its Guitar Heaven!"
I play mostly a pod go with a headrush speaker but I have a katana that I would definitely use that with. Looks and sounds pretty awesome
"Now I want applebees" said no one ever lol
I guess you and others had bad experiences. I've been fine there. It still exists and gets packed, from what I remember. I was born and raised in America, but left years ago.
hmmm? Interesting.
Just when I thought I didn't need another distortion pedal......
METAL SOUND MO.UCKERS! I want it please!🖤🖤🖤
Let's get belligerent
Sounds flat to me. Metal zone or metal muff sounds better. The wampler triple wreck is the closest rectifier in a box
spounds a bit unarticulate, so much gain it loses articulation to my ears. Great for thrash.
Wowwe.....🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just cannot get behind this guy.
Sounds fantastic!
Great job.
