  • Did you know Daniel Radcliffe was in movies other than Harry Potter? Well, a couple, at least. Here we find him in another modern horror film that is just a little too fond of jump-scares. Let the sin count begin!
    Thursday, to kick off your new year... more sins!
    Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins do YOU want to see recounted?

    You know how Daniel says "You look just like your mother" to the kid? I just wish that they made him say "You have your mother's eyes".

    Overall I enjoyed this movie, but I was so unbelievably pissed that he just obliviously lets his kid wander around a train station at the end. Ridiculous.

      Arlie Daniel I love historical films. I HATE jump shots when this film oculd have been edited to be a really horrific thriller. Instead, I just sat there, ticked off at every burst of loud music meant to scare me. Startling me is not the same thing.
      Also, I hated how everyone had perfect costumes- except for the hats! NO one in 1900 would ever go outside without a hat- really! As a historical costumer it was really annoying to see.

    Number one sin of this movie: how the hell did Alice Drablow manage to live out her days, alone, in the house that her sister's vengeful ghost haunts? How was she not driven to madness -- or at least driven out of the house -- by Jennet's ghost? At one point we see notes that Alice has written saying stuff like, "Get thee to hell, evil harlot...she will never stop...she will never leave me in peace." WHY THE HELL DIDN'T SHE MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE?

      lol. I didn't know there is a book as well - though a lot of plays get published as books. Sadly, on school trips, you're not allowed to drink alcohol - but what was even worse was the bunch of scaredy-cat-girls behind me, who would start screaming anytime something scary would happen - so they almost screamed non-stop.

    • @AdirondackRuby
      @AdirondackRuby 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was in the balcony, but there were some teenagers up in the front rows who were screaming a lot too. Not sure, but I think the book came first and then the play. But either way, it's worth a read. Very short and quick.

    The second I heard that little girls voice literally the first thing that popped into my head was the "look mummy, there's an airplane up in the sky". When the actual "sins" part of the episode was over and the hilarious audio replacement stuff started, I was shocked to hear that clip. It's incredibly obscure, and I bet if you asked people on the street, 9/10 of them would have absolutely no idea where it came from. Even if they'd heard the album a dozen times before, it's not really super memorable. Hell, it's not even on par with "IF YEH DONT EAT..." as far as a take away memory. I don't know. It just made me an even bigger fan of your show, and I already LOVED it, so you know, keep doing what you're doing. It's fucking awesome!

    • @Jenacide

      Or it's a gothic horror. I haven't seen the film but if there's jump scares and shit that implies horror to me. Many different genres can use gothic elements including horror movies.

    Easily one of the worst actors of this generation, lol I watched this with my mother, even she noticed how the protagonist don't even flinch, don't change facial expressions, don't react like a normal human being, etc. Radcliffe is basically a robot.

    • @RRRRRRRRR33
      @RRRRRRRRR33 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      louis tomlinson
      Even in Harry Potter his performance was not that great. When you got stupid novice child actors working alongside with know british actors, famous in theaters and etc... It's hard for them to stand out. Emma Watson was the only child actor who kind did that. Radcliffe's best performance happened in his most recent movie. He plays a dead body, lol Literally, a actor without any emotional range plays a corpse. This is similar to Arnold playing emotionless Robots, the guy have no acting range whatsoever, that's why they succeed in souless roles.

    I think the biggest flaw in this movie, like the majority of movies, THE GOD DAMN SOUND!!! It gets so loud and then instantly cuts to a fucking whisper conversation that no one can hear. Then if you want to crank it up to actually listen, then a fucking sonic boom nuclear explosion event jump scare happens and you are deafened. How is this a problem in so many movies? It really doesn't matter what sound setup you have, I have always have this issue.

    I wonder if people saying "YEAAA F This" is the reason we do not have a plethora of horror occurrences in the real world lol. A ghost is waiting in a house, a new person walks in, they slam some doors, do the creepy person in the shadows and the tenant just says FUUUUUUU*******K this and leaves and the ghost just sits there all rejected and no one to kill.

    5:34 - I just happen to be reading a history book about this! Chloroform replaced ether as the seditive/anaesthetic of choice in the Civil War era, and it's tendancy to kill one out of every 3,000 sedated patients didn't ruin it's popularity until the 1920s.
    The book is called The Poisoner's Handbook.

    The thing I never understood about this movie was why was he constantly going towards the ghost? I mean... The moment he sees a ghost you run away. If you consider that is a hallucination, at least you run away after seeing the rocking chair! He was constantly like, "meh, so what there is a ghost in the room..." He even came back for his candle. What epic disappointment.

    I know this video was 4 years ago, and in the long run it doesn't matter, but you listed the hierarchy of needs in the wrong order. You're supposed to start with the base of the pyramid. Physiological needs come first because without those you die. Then it's safety, love, esteem, and finally self actualization. But I understand your point
