Nah, maybe create a new fast moving character that can move fast by sliding on their heels using ice powers or something. Personality wise, they could have a calm yet cocky demeanor, kinda like Shadow and Sonic's personalities combined, and since they can maintain their speed using ice, they could be kind of a show off by sliding on their heels backwards or spinning around with a grin similar to Sonic's cocky grin.
and to ever have them back they go when you need to pay for soap advertisement or anything all they have to do is just put them on Sonic they don't even need any information since they don't aren't called soap shoes and game they're actually called high speed shoes
As true as that is, I do like his regular shoes. They have this classic feel to it. Now, if SEGA were to add character customization sort of like how they did for Colors Ultimate and Forces... Maybe we'd see Sonic wearing these bad boys again. It's just a thought.

I actually own a few pairs of SOAP shoes, and I started getting into it around 2011, so it wasn't easy finding pairs, but some websites still sold them brand new. Unfortunately, a couple of pairs have gone missing somehow, I don't know if I threw them out accidently, or I left them at a skate park or something. One of the cool features of some of them was being able to replace the plastic grind plates if they got worn out, the problem though was that when I bought new plates, the rubber from the shoes were so worn down that the plastic would stick out, making it nearly impossible to walk from being all slippery. But yeah, I have an interesting history with SOAP shoes, and I definitely stood out in my school at the time, more so than usual being a weeb lol.
I remember back when I was in 3rd grade, one kid showed up with a pair of soaps and we all stared in amazement, it got to the point that most of our parents refused to buy us a pair so what we would do in the bathroom at school is take some of the hand soap and put that on our shoes so we could grind on this box platform that was to help the younger kids to stand at level with some of the urinals, boy the 90's were sure a trip.

This is honestly why didn’t mind sonic riders much, like I remember people complaining that “sonic RUNS! He doesn’t need a hoverboard!” But like come on, you’re trying to tell me sonic wouldn’t use a hoverboard for fun?
My problem is that Sonic leaned that hard into 90s rebel culture with soap shoes and heelies but they never actually tried to make Sonic control like a skateboard, Skate 3 is a perfect example of the kind of high-speed freedom I expect from Sonic
Sonic Adventure 2 was one of if not the first sonic game I ever played so imagine my confusion when I learned that those shoes were the exception and not the standard

Dope video, my guy! SA2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I always loved the way Sonic looked in the SOAP shoes! By the way, were some of those music tracks remixes or something?
I thought SOAP shoes were a fake brand when I played the game as a kid too. I love love love the style of these shoes and would love for them to return, both in-game and in real life.
I bought a pair of Soap Shoes in 2008 at a Ross. however, they were one size too small but I then bought a pair of Soap shoes in 2015 in my actual size from a store that had found a tiny bit of inventory. I refused to admit they were all but gone. That and I was really stubborn. When I ourchased them and came in the mail. They had its original packaging and warning tag included. on the bottom of the shoe there was a patent pending label on the plastic plate. I still own the shoes i can't remember if i have the box somewhere since they stay in storage.
I'm gonna be completely honest. Up until literally this video I had thought SOAP was a completely fictional brand in the Sonic universe. Like Chao in Space and all that. SOAP is such an unknown and irrelevant company that it honestly just blends right in with the rest of the in-game fake ads.
Let me know your opinions about the SOAP shoes! Do you think they’ll ever return in some major way? Or are they a dead fad lost to time?

The Shoes are also in Sunset overdrive, one of the major gameplay mechanic is grinding and the main character pretty much has metal soap shoes
the classic shoes are iconic
but i will always associate modern sonic with the SOAP shoes
Talking about Heelys took me back to 2004, really was a missed opportunity not to have that product placement in '06.
Im so grad they're back
I remember in elementary school a few kids had soaps and would grind the railings all over the playground. After a kid broke his arm, they were banned along with Pokémon cards.
I feel like whenever people bring up Tony Hawk in relation to sonic grinding they forget that JSR exists and the grind mechanic is basically exactly the same as in JSR
Heelys never stopped being hot, they keep selling out every holiday where I live.
Dope video, my guy! SA2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I always loved the way Sonic looked in the SOAP shoes! By the way, were some of those music tracks remixes or something?
well done my guy!🙌
Of course a Sonic fan would watch a ten minute video explaining soap.
I thought SOAP shoes were a fake brand when I played the game as a kid too. I love love love the style of these shoes and would love for them to return, both in-game and in real life.
Now splatoon has unofficial soap shoes
And now they’re back in Frontiers
I had a pair of SOAPS. They were really uncomfortable and added about an extra inch in height.
