Absolutely brother and love watching you killing it at lock and lean. Good luck with your practice sessions. I hope you record them. Ride safe brother.
As a person that owns a Goldwing, R1250 GSA and a M1000R, I have to say I love all bikes. If you're interested in a different bike and it fits in your budget, go for it. Life is short. Enjoy the ride.
Absolutely agree Craig. It’s going to come down to my purpose and my budget. If I can afford it I would have a stable of different bike and brands. Thanks for watching.
Awesome. The key thing there is that you’re happy brother. They are beautiful bikes. Congratulations on your purchase, thanks for watching and ride safe.
Robert I can’t disagree. But for what I want that price is steep. Road Glide said it’s just money and we can’t take it with us when we’re gone but those prices might be the reason I go. Lol
Been on side of the road 5 hrs using H.O.G. member services also after hours taking to dealership doesn't work very well and enjoy my Harleys 21 RKS, 05 Sportster and GW's 06 Navi, 83 Standard and as you said Get out and ride. Thanks for sharing
I don't knock anyone for what they ride. H-D's are expensive, but hold resale value like nothing else. Sometimes new bikes are cheaper than used. H-D is definitely easier to work on yourself, if that's your thing. Same with customization. If you do dip your toe in the Harley pond, be patient. A lot of dealers add bogus up charges, but there's a bunch of MSRP dealers out there, many of which will ship a bake anywhere in the lower 48.
You should have seen the looks when we (All GWs) pulled into an HD dealership in Sturgis. You know I was acting a fool with the slow skills. Everyone got it wrong...there are over 900+ powersports dealers.HD has 600+ dealerships. We have never had a problem finding at least 3 wherever we are. Although we don't need them as much as other brands, it's nice to know that they are there. The problem we have with Powersports dealers is that they never have any fun events. We see a tent at HD, and it is on, we will stop in a heartbeat.
Great stuff. Don’t know Rich if Kake mentioned it to you. When we were in Flagler I brought this topic up with her. She can tell you what she said to me. The Powersports are there but seems not to be able to work on the new Gen6. Great info guys. No one better to educate me than you guys. Rich with those slow speed skills they have to take another look. They can’t believe what a GW can do. Love it.
There's Nothing Like A Harley, And There's Nothing Like A Goldwing... I Just Feel I Get More Of A Hot Rod Experience From The My Harley, My Road Glide Looks Good, Sounds Great And Is Very Comfy... I'm A 6'5" Rider And I Feel More Cramped On The Goldwing... But The Wing Is A Very Reliable Bike... The Craftsmanship Of A Harley Is Amazing ... That Wing Is A Helluva Bike But HD All Day For Me.
I can see that happening. Robert Simmons and the whole Harley vibe is truly getting into your blood. Harley Davidson dealerships are fun places. It’s culture is huge. I also am smitten with the Harley look and vibe. Quality paint and persona. I have been spoiled by the Gold Wing’s smoothness. It is quick and sublime. Until I have an issue not satisfied fully to my liking by any dealership, I won’t be jumping ship or hypothecating the “what if’s”. You can do that until your numb. There are riders jumping from one brand to another and back again. Choices are great. Furthermore, you can just as easily walk into to go a HD Dealership anywhere and have a negative experience. Trust that. Yes, their network hands down is plentiful. No question. Indian, another great product. Dealership network not nearly as expansive as HD nor are it’s service levels proven like Harley. I think it might be time for you Rich. You would look good on one. It’s only money. You can’t take it with you and life is terribly short.
RG again great comment.I Agree with most except for the Simmons and the whole Harley vibe part. Believe me I have heard the Harley service horror stories. Dealership from my experience is not what they use to be. They would be no hasty decision to trade Ruby but if I traveled distances dealership availability would be a consideration. This journey back is about learning and exploring. I do believe the Goldwing is golden but at this point it’s all I know. You’re absolutely right. We must enjoy it while we’re here. Can’t take it with us. Thank again brother. Ride safe.
Why,,,,, as a goldwing guy,,,,,,,,,,, Would You, ever consider a Stateside bike ???????, the dealer network,,,, or the support,,,, having lived in the Honda World ?
I am a motorcycle guy. I like all bikes. Along with the GW I also own a Suzuki M109R. If affordable I would own HD, Indian, BMW, Ducati etc. Never rode a bike I didn’t like. Very few I wouldn’t own. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Been riding HD's for over 30 years. I love 'em. Still own 3 of them. Even worked for HD. But pound for pound, the Goldwing is a BETTER bike for reliability, handling, acceleration, & more "creature comforts" on the bike. However, there is always something about a Harley Davidson.
Always said, "If Harley would have built the Goldwing, I'd be riding a Harley." I like bikes too. I like mostly the different "looks". The shape the line the art of different bikes. (Absolutely in love with Ducati. Also $$$) If big Honda wants only superstores, they need to give their dealers better incentives to past along to the customer and be forced to hire and pay decent mechanics. Rough.
Ok. Got you. I do like the variety of bikes and HD have that. The Ducati is also a great brand. Recently Rode the X Diavel. What a blast. Great stuff. Thanks for commenting and watching.
2009 GL1800... AIRBAG, cruise control, heavenly seats, heated seat, heated grips, ONboard GPS. zero mechanical issues 130k kms on the clock. easy maintenance, No "heat" problems. was a hardcore harley owner... got snubbed at the "dealership" over my Evo Big twin never stepped back in... found nicer people on my Honda
Nice. I have been snubbed by HD riders. Don’t understand that. Still I ride on with my head held high. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Ride safe.
Wow! Like you’re lawn mower. That’s harsh. The Goldwing is silky smooth. Like the sound, smooth as Tennessee Whiskey. Thanks for watching. Ride safe and smooth.
The only reason I'd get back into an Indian or HD is the "coolness factor"... My Wing is an awesome machine and touring bike but its just not as cool as an American V-Twin 😎
Ok. That’s subjective. Some folks would agree. I think the Gen 6 GW looks cooler than any HD tourer. I believe some of the HD cruisers are cool looking bikes. V-Rod, Fatboys Break outs etc… thanks for watching. 6
Goodluck your going to need lot's of it rich perhaps as a spair bike the Harley would be good. But I don't think your main bike but ok. I can't tell you what not to buy god bless you on the road . Personally I rather take the Indian b4 I do a Harley.. I think it's a mistake.
Can’t agree or disagree. No hasty decisions to be made here. A Road King might be added if I decide to use it for slow speed challenges but not to replace my Wing. Thanks for a great comment. Ride safe.
I know that Harley has some beautiful bikes. There is a Harley dealer on I-75 in Tifton, Ga. close to my home town, but the problem I keep hearing about is reliability. That and the cost of maintenance if you allow the dealer to do your maintenance for you. If you're like me and don't have a lot of money to play with, a Harley seems to be a lost subject. If you were to ask me which Harley I like, it's the Road Glide 3, that shark nose looks sharp on that bike and besides I have to ride a trike anyway because of health problems. TCRS - Take Care, Ride Safe.
Great video Rich. Life is short, get the Road King! Ride safe brother

Nice progression to the Indian. Your welcome and thanks for watching.
From what I’ve seen, most HD guys who really ride respect the Goldwing. It’s a seriously capable bike.
They do, even though they won’t admit it. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see more of you and your content Rich!
