I thought of you and your family as I was making my cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. Thanks for the work your family does to provide those delicious little berries.
I also thought of you as I made my homemade cranberry sauce. Thanks for providing those delicious, vibrant, flavorful, yummy berries. 😋 Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Maria reminds me of my girls when they were her age . * Love of horses and being in the kitchen* We still make horse shaped cookies at Christmas. And they are 18 and 21 now!! ( I still make them lol :) 💕
Jennifer I have our entire family obsessed with your zucchini chocolate chip muffin recipe! This week I've been making it with dried cranberries, walnuts and white chocolate chips instead of the chocolate chips. Absolutely divine!
from UK - my Mum used to mix some flour into leftover mash ( never got measurements - she was a handful of this and a bit of that kind of cook ) anyway enough to bind into a kind of dough - sometimes would add softened onions or bacon scraps - and shape into patties and fry up - bacon fat was nice but it could just be plain lard - plenty of salt and white pepper - and on a good week served with cumberland sausage and gravy ( proper meaty gravy not that milky stuff ) other than that with a fried egg on top - then it was" kiss you Mary Anne" type of day - ( start off good ) x nearest recipe I can think of is tradition English potato cake
Leftover mashed potatoes, browned green pepper, cheese and diced ham make a delicious grilled sandwich...I add a few red pepper flakes as well to mine...I just mix it all and spread thickly on bread and cook as I would a grilled cheese sandwich..
Hey Jen, a fork to open up English muffins works like a charm! I know the struggle 😊 Peter is a big help, nice going kiddo. I’m going to try my Instant pot for mash. Wish me luck Take care guys !❤🇨🇦
Jennifer, freeze your cake shapes. Pour part of batter in your pan. Put them in there side by side like you did. Add rest of batter And bake. Have her try colored sugar cookie shapes and refrigerate. Line them together then wrap in vanilla cookie dough! Refrigerate and slice. Good Luck! Love your adventurous young lady! ❤
I do that cake for christmas with a tree. In Belgium we do not have all these cake mixes. So i make a 4/4 cake with green foodcolor and cut out the trees and then a make another cake. Always a succes!
I definitely love watching meals of the week for ideas. I've got my pen and paper and list of foods I make from time to time in front of me as I watch this. I just sometimes forget about things I could make.
I made your cranberry sauce for thanksgiving- my young children and I were able to talk about the cranberry facts that we’ve learned over the years on your channel! Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving.
I just learned the other day you can cook acorn squash whole in the microwave. Time will very on your microwave. Flip halfway through there cooking process. Cook until soft. Cut in half scoop out seeds and add squash to bowl then add your butter and brown sugar.
Your Fried potatoes are very similar to what we here in New Zealand call --Bubble and Squeak---- our bubble and squeak usually has in with the potato left over cabbage and carrots as well. we cook it just the same way in a heavy cast pan with butter and let get all brown and yummy. I am known to make this after a meal of corned beef as we make that with mash potato, buttered cabbage and carrots. So making a little more vege at that time allows for a yum left over dinner during the week ahead. I love the fun cake idea Maria, dont give up, I would like to see you try again.
Love all your videos. Im this one I love especially when you and Maria baked, your Hoodie, Joe loving Pizza burgers. Iam going to try making Pizza burgers soon. Greetings from Germany
My recent cranberry muffins I baked…. the huge turkey dinner including, whole cranberry sauce, etc …. Made me think of you and your dear family! As I watched the cake cut outs, it reminds me of and some how a kinda tradition? Not sure but I think from my Dad’s German side? Lol maybe Mom too? ( she is Polish and Catholic, he raised Lutheran…. Married Catholic… were were raised Catholic, and My husband, and our children are Catholic… my point is…. my family liked to make and Easter lamb cake (pound cake is best so far)…. Lol, the ears always were/are trouble… lol a few tooth picks helped…. ❤️🙏🏼🕊
The snickerdoodle recipe is wonderful for easy sugar cookies. I use lemon flavoring and roll the balls in sugar. Sanding or gourmet sugar makes them pretty. Loved the cranberry harvest , so interesting, as always.
We love to make our venison roast that way, I use the pickled banana peppers instead of the pepperoncini's. When I have some left over and not enough for everyone I then turn into veggie soup and it is delicious! Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend!
I make pizza burgers too. I just use pizza sauce. I have a gas stove. I don't use the broiler, I just turn the temp up to 500 , I think it browns more even
If you had cut out the horses then put them on a baking tray and into the freezer for 15-20 mins, then put some chocolate mix down, laid the horses upside down as you did, then filled the pan with the rest of the chocolate cake mix....
Hi Jennifer, I shared my cranberry sauce you made with my family. It was a big hit. It was so delicious. Plus I made your lemon blueberry cheesecake, that was delicious as well. You are such an inspiration. Thank you in all you do to make our lives easier with your great recipes and your bounties of your fruits. God Bless
Dinner looks delicious! I like your dinner plates 🍽 Jennifer I cut my acorn squash in half and stuff with apples cranberries and brown sugar 🎉a fork works for English muffins.thank you hope you had a great Thanksgiving 🦃🌈🦃
I married a man with Italian heritage, and boy those Italian names can be hard to figure out, lol! Pepperoncini is pronounced pepper chee nee. Hope this is helpful, but like my last name it's not a big deal! (No key is how my last name is said, most people assume it is like the potato dumpling Gnocchi, but nope!😂) You made some really yummy things, thank you for sharing them with us!
@@acountrylife lol, I'm telling you those Italian names will get you every time! Gnocchi is one of those words where you may need to google the pronounciation as I can't quite figure out how to spell it out. 😆
Ive never sone a curbside order, or however you say it, with Walmart or a grocery store or anywhere. I wouldnt even know how to go about doing so. I imagine it can be very convenient, especially with children or working etc. Your meals looks so good!
Try putting a thin layer of chocolate batter in the pan first. Then the horses then more batter. Use the cake scraps to bake s trifle with some instant pudding and cool whip. Delicious no matter hiw it looks. 👍🏻😊
Hi guys, happy Thanksgiving. A tip for next time making your surprise centre cake....put a layer of the mixture you're putting on top of the base first, this will ensure the surprise is in the centre, but it will help yo stand things up properly. It looked great in the end, great job Maria and mum.
I love the idea with the cake! I wonder if putting a small amount of batter on the bottom would help cake pieces stay in place? Kind of like the glue Maria suggested 😊
I have never noticed That pizza seasoning in my Walmart in Southern Illinois, but I will tell you that Azue Standard has an amazing pizza season. Can't wait to make pizza burgers! Enjoy your videos.
next time with the cake i would line the bottom of the pan with chocolate cake so the horses back is sitting on something maybe?? and i would no doubt make cake pops with the left over yellow cake
Yay!! I’m so glad your video came in my feed, I watched one of your videos long time ago but forgot to subscribe and then I couldn’t find you. It was a video about you teaching your son with DS how to read. I too have a little guy with DS, he is five. How old is your son now if you don’t mind sharing
Walmart messed up on a pickup order for me too! Except I got somebody else's groceries, just a couple things. I called to ask about what to do and they told me to keep it. It was all a quicker quick oatmeal, Dino eggs. I don't eat that so gave to a man at work with little kids.
So many good supper ideas in here, Jennifer. I've seen the pizza burgers in the cookbook and haven't tried them yet but now I'll have to correct that. I think hubby who is very picky will love them. Did you try the cranberry curd tart for your Thanksgiving? (America's Home Test Kitchen recipe for anybody curious.) I made it and we all loved it and it will be a part of all our Thanksgiving dinners from now on. And of course, used wonderful Wisconsin cranberries which were the best quality I've ever had. Hope you have a lovely weekend and a blessed first Sunday of Advent.
Molly, I received the cranberry curd pie recipe from so many people. Emily had planned on making it, but after looking it over thought it seemed a little too much with a 1 and 2 year old at foot. Do you have any tips for us?
@@acountrylife I made the crust a few days ahead and froze it. Made the curd the day before and to dirty less dishes I just strained the curd right over the pie crust instead of doing it into a bowl and then into the pie. It is so rich and yet not terribly sweet, it didn't need any whipped cream at all. We all thought it would be good at Easter with a meringue topping. Edit: and I took the skins and seeds that were in the strainer and used them as 'jam' on toast. Really delicious and no waste!
My family loves mashed potatoes but not the type that's whipped smooth. The mouth feel is nasty. I just mash with a handheld masher adding lots of butter. We actually prefer them a bit lumpy

Maria was a good sport about her cake :) it’s all a learning curve for sure

Next time try doing the horse as brownies (brookies) so that they are yellow and then use chocolate cake batter.
I wonder if you put some of the chocolate cake in the pan and then add the white cake cutouts and then top with the remaining chocolate cake.
