Jennifer, my husband came up with an easy Smothered Pork Chop recipe. Take boneless pork chops (about 9 per 9x13 pan), dredge in flour/seasoned salt/pepper mixture (eyeball it), fry on each side in oil (1/4 inch deep) in skillet (doesn't have to be cooked through). Mix up 1 can cream of mushroom, one can of Golden mushroom, one can Rotel and water to thin out (appx 3/4 to 1 full soup can). Put a little soup mixture on bottom of 9x13, add the fried pork chops, cover with the rest of the soup mixture, cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes (soup mixture should be bubbling and hot). Serve with or over mashed potatoes, the soup mixture makes an excellent gravy. Note: Our chops are usually about 1/2 inch thick.

More pork because I never buy it besides bacon because I just don’t like it as much as chicken nor do I know what to do with it.

I make a pork chops cassarole. Slice potatoes and put them in the bottom of your dish. Then top with onions then another layer of sliced potatoes. I then flour salt and pepper prkchops and then flour them. Fry just until browned and not fully cooked. Salt and pepper your potatoes. Then add some butter slices on top of the potatoes. Top with can of cream of mushroom and cream of celery soup spread on top of potatoes and place pork chopped on top of soup. Cover and bake 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minites at 350°.

I bake my pork chops..slice onions on top of seasoned pork chops..garlic powder..onions powder..season salt and pepper..
Topped with dices tomatoes..the Italian seasoned one..1 or 2 large cans..cover and bake at 350..the longer the better..till they cut easily..served over buttered noodles or mashed potatoes 👍

A small amount of brown sugar without covering it would make for some nice caramelization. Let the tomato juice thicken into more of a sauce, with more additives or let evaporate some in the oven. Sauerkraut on the side for serving may be more ideal.

Hi Jennifer and Warren.. love you channel... recently some how i got in to you early videos like 5 years ago! Wow have the kids grown i really enjoyed my self watching them again! They were so tiny!.
Ok my mom made her pork chops this way as i grew up!
    Moms Fried Pork Chops
This was passes from Dads Mom "Grandma Mayers and she got it from her mother" Recipe!
    My dad loved it!
In a gallon zip lock bag place:
    2 c flour
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp paprika ( we like smoked paprika)
Now shake bag once sealed so you dont get a flour shower. Please dont ask how i know this happens ...lol
Get a large fry pan heated with 1/4 c Canola oil or bacon fat over medium heat! ( you may need to turn down if you are not quick with the flouring part) add extra oil as needed while frying!
6 to 8 bone in pork chops (we like the dark meat ones they hide behind all the pretty pork chops in the family packs here in Vancouver Washington. I dont know if they do that everywhere!)
Now rinse each pork chop in cold water from running Faucet. And while still wet place each chop by its self in the gallon bag...then shake and transfer to the hot frying pan! (Fill the pan but not to close together!)
Fry each until golden brown on both sides. They will not be fully cooked at this point but Set chops aside by placing in a 9x13 glass baking dish sprayed with pam! Set aside until gravy is ready!
Add 1/4 cup of flour from the ziplock bag to your fry pan and stir to cook the flour some.
    Then
Add 3 small cans of "chicken noodle soup undiluted cans" into fry pan stiring to retrieve all those golden bits. Add 2 cans of water and Continue to stir until it thickens
Pour over pork chops in the glass dish.
Cover tightly with foil. And bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until the chops are fall apart tender!
Serve over cooked rice or boiled egg noodles.. we like the egg noodles best!
And cooked broccoli on the side!
Hot rolls would be good to Sop up your excess gravy!
    Yummy!!

We love sour cream pork chops(low carb, instant pot Pinterest recipe!), Mississippi pot roast but make it with chops instead and we use a slow cooker & put cubes potatoes in the bottom, half a quart of sour kraut and juices over the potatoes then layer up some well seasoned chops and top with the rest of the kraut and let it go. So yummy! I love this type of video and love hearing the family reviews of the recipes it definitely helps us break out of the dinner rut! Hopefully I can get some fresh cabbage here soon and can up some kraut for this year and get some chops on the menu!

Mama made oven pork chops that were so good. Chops in baking dish, cover with a can of crushed or chopped tomatoes, Italian seasoning (or use seasoned tomatoes). Bake covered. Last 10 minutes or so add chopped broccoli or carrots or whatever vegetable or no veg at all. Serve over spaghetti noodles with parmigian.

Our favorite pork chop recipe is this: Sprinkle sides of pork chops (we prefer boneless) and slice a large onion. In cast iron skillet, melt 3 T. bacon grease, cook onions until soft and turning light brown. Sear pork chops in the skillet with the onions on both sides. Preheat oven to 400 F. Keeping chops in cast iron skillet add 1 heaping Tablespoon of brown sugar on each individual pork chop. Use any kind of canned fruit- peaches, pears, mixed fruit, etc. in juice or syrup. I usually use 12-16 ounces of canned fruit and pour over brown sugar and chops, add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of water and stir gently. Put in heated oven uncovered and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until done. I use the oven at the same time to cook roasted white or sweet seasoned potato wedges so the rest of dinner is easy. The cooked fruit is delicious also.

I can not eat store bought ( local grocery store /walmart) pork for some reason. I havent had it in 15 years before i found a farmer and gave it a try now i am re finding my enjoyment with their products. Anyway, this inspires me to try new recipes.
as far as challenges go. Have you ever just thought of having a week of what you and warren ate as children. or as close to those recipes you can get. for example i grew up with stuffed peppers but i dont enjoy the texture of the cooked peppers so i found a way to have it and enjoy it. Or even i know you were low carb at one point maybe making a standard meal but showing us how you Jennifer it up so its close to comfort but aligns with your diet?

I really enjoyed this pork chop challenge. Pork chops and potatoes go together.
I like the first one and third recipes. I love sauerkraut and pork chops, but the brown sugar got me.
I have a recipe where you take potatoes and slice them up to fry, add some onions when they are almost done...I like my fried potatoes crispy and brown.
While your potatoes are frying you fry your pork chops golden brown.
At the end you add sauerkraut, caraway seed and fennel seed to your potato’s and mix together. Add your pork chops on top of the potatoes, onions and kraut, cover and let the flavors meld together, so good.

I am absolutely dying laughing at your complete honesty as you missed step after step making the creamy garlic pork chops. That's so me. Once I had to make boxed scalloped potatoes. First time ever cooking out of a box. It took me twice as long as just making them from scratch.

Thank you so much for the tip with the pork chops! It really helps those of us learning to cook from videos like yours. But yes ma’am that seems weird.

Hi Jennifer (and Warren). Loved this challenge. Maybe it is just me, but I do not think pork chops (store bought) taste as good/the same as they did back in the day when I was a little girl. I prefer bone-in chops but again, they just don't taste the same. Maybe if I got them from a butcher they would taste like I remember. I love pork and sauerkraut-maybe I would mix the sauerkraut, brown sugar and tomato juice together, then place the pork chops on top (plus I never rinse or drain my sauerkraut)! Thanks again and have a blessed day.
