Great video man! I love these electronic upgrades to older cars to bring them up to date. It’s a market that other radio head-unit makers should get into.
If u swipe down on the top of the screen, a bar will pop up and u can reboot it there. Along with night vision and a few more settings. Love this radio, easy to install.
You know I always forget about that. Lol I have everything set, so I just get in my car and use Apple CarPlay. Don’t really use a lot of the features on this radio.
I actually got this radio awhile back after stumbling across your videos maybe 8 months ago. I’m with you totally worth it. Idk if you’ve experienced it before but when I was on maps I noticed that over a few minutes that it started to get grainy/ pink. It was odd and it happens every so often but I will say that was weird
This head unit specifically has a lot of different sellers at different prices. I found this exact same head unit for my 09 corolla that was $113 with all of the same items included as this one.
The radio I had before this was also very similar, and I paid a little over $100 for it. Yeah I bought that almost 3 years ago, and when I did it didn’t come with Apple CarPlay. So that was the biggest selling point on this unit. Even though I’m pretty sure the cheap ones have it now too. But one thing I notice on this radio versus the cheap one, is how much smoother everything runs. As well as the screen quality is very crisp from the cheap one. So there are some things that are a little better. But I would say the extra money that this radio cost, doesn’t out weigh the benefits.
Just purchased this radio. Two questions: -I plan to use Android auto since I have a Samsung phone. Can you connect the phone directly to the radio for a faster response time or is it the response time wirelessly good enough. -How's the mic quality on this radio? Thanks for the review!
Yes you can plug in to use Apple CarPlay/ android auto. It probably might be a little quicker. But honestly this wireless is pretty responsive. The mic is decent, it’s not the best. I am using the mic that is built into the unit. But they do supply a external mic that you can run and put for better quality.
I completely understand. I have been using Idoing radios for the past 4-5 years and have not had any issues with them. They use much higher quality materials and electronics like the name brand radios!

1. I had one radio. It had HIFI. Which has amp. Turning on would boost up the music. It was in sound setting... does it have tht thing too? 2. Do idoing give you the frame with it too? The frame in which this tablet fixes and can be installed. 3. On amazon, there are many black window tints but the reviews are bad. Which one would you recommend?
Yes this has the option to boost up the music level. The idoing radio come with the bezel, so you do not need to buy anything else. And I have never bought window tint online, I have always had other people do it. So it’s hard to tell what is good or not online.
Hey B can you link a similar unit for a 2009 Corolla. The one in the description is no longer available and if I go to the Idoing website it’s confusing as hell

Do you have an issue watching TH-cam on it? The video plays but no image shows. At the bottom a small message pops up saying something about can’t watch a video while driving but I’m not even driving..
Does the screen have auto dimming? Can it detect that it's night time and then dim the screen appropriately so you're not blinded? Another question is how did you connect the steering wheel controls to the stereo? Did you have to connect wires or buy separate parts?
Yes the screen will dim when your headlights come on automatically. And the steering wheel controls were plug and play. You will have to go to the SW control settings to learn each one of it doesn’t lock it up automatically.
I know it works for the JBL system. But the few people who have done it, had to contact idoing for support when installing it. I would contact them and ask if it’s plug and play and see what they say!
There should be a menu to link the steering wheel controls, and you will need to press the corresponding buttons that you want on the screen. If you have already done that, make sure all the connections behind the radio are good.
Yeah they make them look nice by fitting hood with the car. But if your someone who is really into the audio. These are probably not the best for that. But they are great for general music listening!
The one on Amazon is still good. But you can tell that the quality is not the best. I had the Amazon one for almost a year and it still worked good, is much slower then the iDoing one.

Thank you!
And I agree it turns an old car into a nice daily driver!
@@BrandonStellmach indeed! I hope you’ll still do videos like this. I love them!

Yeah it’s been working great for me.
And as for the maps problem I have not seen that or had that happen to me. Seems very strange.
Nice to have a review of product after using it a year.
👍 😎 👍
Yeah it’s been a great radio so far! No problems!

Car play is legit!
CarPlay is the best part of this radio!
Thank you brother 🙏
No problem!
Brandon is the goat
Thank you! 👍

Contemplating this myself. The kicker is the cost. Its a no name brand that is nearly the same price as Kenwood or similar (in my country at least).
I completely understand. I have been using Idoing radios for the past 4-5 years and have not had any issues with them. They use much higher quality materials and electronics like the name brand radios!
Wassup Brandon how's the camera after a rainy day in your new corolla?
The camera looks good. If there is water on it, it will make the video quality hard to see, but usually will dry off quickly.
can you please update the link

Yes you can of course but its gonna be costly try to find someone giving you a discount fam for the installation fam
It’s a pretty easy process to do by yourself! Maybe have a buddy and you tackle the project on the weekend, should only take about an hour!
I'm trying to buy this radio and I can't get it. Could you tell me where I can buy it?

I guess my question would be how much are the RMS and watts peak?
I am not sure, maybe that information might be on the website for the radio!
Are those seat covers or new seats?
They are seat covers from clazzio!

Any Audio problems ?I planning to buy one for mines
No problems at all! It’s been a great radio and I have had it for about a year now!
Do you have an issue watching TH-cam on it? The video plays but no image shows. At the bottom a small message pops up saying something about can’t watch a video while driving but I’m not even driving..
There is typically a setting that will allow you to watch videos while driving. Forgot exactly where it is located.
i have it with android auto on my Android head unit
How does it work with android auto? You like it?
Does the screen have auto dimming? Can it detect that it's night time and then dim the screen appropriately so you're not blinded?

Still plug and play with corrola s that comes with jbl amp?
I know it works for the JBL system. But the few people who have done it, had to contact idoing for support when installing it.
I would contact them and ask if it’s plug and play and see what they say!
How did you get it to say Toyota when it boots up? Mine is just a black screen until it finishes booting up.
Well mine came with it like that. But I believe there should be a factory setting to change the boot logo somewhere.
hey Brandon!, i’m looking into buying some fender flares for the same gen corolla. any recommendations?
The best I could say would have to be universal ones. I have never seen anyone out fender flares on. Except for the Krotov wide body kit.
Where did you get the carbon fiber Toyota logo on your steering wheel?
It was something I bought off of wish.com.
Hey Brandon do you know any places where I can buy the lower dashboard trim for the corolla?
For those pieces. I would either recommend eBay or if you have any local junkyards to get those parts for cheap.
I got an issue with this radio, my steering wheel doesn’t work, I have no idea what to do, if somebody has any idea, I will appreciate
There should be a menu to link the steering wheel controls, and you will need to press the corresponding buttons that you want on the screen. If you have already done that, make sure all the connections behind the radio are good.
Android radios look good, but I just can't. Rather run my Pioneer with the 7 inch screen.
Yeah they make them look nice by fitting hood with the car.
But if your someone who is really into the audio. These are probably not the best for that. But they are great for general music listening!
@@BrandonStellmach yes Sir I agree with you. I'm more into the audio, and video side running four 10s and two amps for bass, Mids, and highs
So the the one frm Amazon no good

I had the Amazon one for almost a year and it still worked good, is much slower then the iDoing one.
If u have it connected to CarPlay can u change the volume with ur phone?
Once you have connected to CarPlay, you can only control the volume with the radio.
