    I agree with your mod list. As for some of the mods, that personal preference. Most of the ones you selected are performance related and thats awesome.

    Nice list, but a few other Dinan mods that are worth considering for a "phase 2" are - short shifter, underdrive pulley, front camber plates, rear toe links & ECU software.

    I'm grown to like the wheel lug bolts on my volkwagen as opposed to a stud with a nut. The tool Volkswagen gives you to install your wheel makes it very easy. It's basically a long plastic rod that you thread in to the top hole and it holds the wheel well while you are mounting it up. Also the wheel bolt feel very high quality. Def 12.9 strength.

    When you got to Modification #4 and talked about the springs giving your car a better stance I immediately thought "Poser alert!"
    The HRE demo on an autocross course went a ways toward reversing that impression.
    You could do better still if you talk about alignment. What do BMW owners do to make their alignment adjustable?
    When I go to an autocross there are always some BMWs there (almost all 3-series, mostly E36). They tend to have at least -2.0 degrees camber in the front. Except when it's -3.5 degrees. The guy winning my class (STX) is driving an E36 328i and he hasn't told me everything, but I think he's got -3 degrees or more. His front camber isn't terribly obvious because he also has a lot camber in the rear (-2* or so). I'm under the impression -2* in front (and slightly less in the rear) is a good stopping point for cars that mostly drive on the street.
    I've only seen a couple of E9x cars at an autocross (in 8 years), so I don't know what they do for alignment, but I know sticking to factory recommendations is not on their agenda.

  • @993mike
    @993mike 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    To complete the Dinan package I would add the ECU tune, underdrive pulley, front fixed camber plates, & adjustable rear toe links. I don’t think they make them anymore, but the shorter geared differential was magic with the S65 engine, but pricey.

    To me, the only mods that matter on an M3 are ones that enhance performance. Exhaust noise is not performance. Wheels are a matter of taste, unless you change the rubber. Mirror colour is taste not performance (mine are stock AND match my car so don't know why yours weren't ). Lowered stance? again, aesthetics and frankly a recipe for a bad back on potholed UK roads. Short shifter - omg don't get me started on why a DCT makes so much more sense than a manual: faster, smoother, better fuel economy , launch mode.... but.... at least you have the greatest value for money v8 there is :)

    Will have to look up a nice exhaust, wanna stay somewhat economic on price!! whats a good exhaust but somewhat less expensive?? Doing a huge reno to my house next year so money will be directed toward that!!!
    My car already has the Comp pack and Snitzer upgraded software, just going to do exhaust.
    I'm not really looking for better sound as I am looking for some performance gains, honestly will I be wasting my money or is there a substancial difference with exhaust??

    There is no such think as "cold intake" CF. Carbon fiber does not cool the air charge it only makes a useless cosmetic change that you might look at once or twice a year if opening the hood. Any marketing about a piece of plastic that can cool the air is bogus or so small as to be negligible.

    Don't forget the rod bearings and their maintenance....
    Its no secret that the powerful S65 V8 that came in the e90 e92 and e93 BMW M3 (2008-2013) has some known mechanical issues. One of the most troublesome is the premature failure of the connecting rod bearings.
    Research shows that BMW could have added a bit more clearance on the upper shell of the bearing to allow more sufficient oil flow. Some people have tried running thinner than recommended oil as a “band-aid fix” for the issue. Of course, this didn’t help the issue and may even have made it worse, not to mention that a lot of internal components of the engine operate through oil pressure; using a thinner (lighter weight) oil may hinder the overall performance of the engine.

    • @goognamgoognw6637
      @goognamgoognw6637 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you don't even know the surface of that subject. For someone who has years invested in that topic you are only spreading false part of that issue. Not going to waste time with wrong information but : 1) this issue is not due to the RB, RB take the brunt of it, they're the effect, not the cause. The cause is only known by few including myself who won't tell you and i have reasons for it. And 2) only a very small fraction of cars are affected.

    Could it be my ram? Because I could go for a ddr4 kit for my transmission headers steering wheel?
    I tried to ignition but my trunk lid mirrors are shot and my window won't turn on the dash antenna for my battery. Should I use triple A batteries for this? I hear they have goo service when it comes to tire horsepower.

      I'll help & with money also. 4K exhaust?? I can't believe guys pay that for 5 hp & sound. Here is the way to go. Get a DCT m3. They're much faster than the manual transmission. I was hestitant, until I drove one. No need for wheels. My 2010 had the 19 inch BMW wherls. They look awesome. Gio with the cat delete & buy the x pipe. That will be your biggest gain. Get the under drive pulleys. Easy install. Buy the best rated CAI for m3s. Tune?! I couldn't see it fir 1k & getting 12hp. Supercharging the car is 15k. If you decide that route, ess is quality company. I did nitrous 150! Shot for under 1k. That high revving v8 loved it.

    I don't know why people are changing something that has been accurately engineered here in Muenchen... If you are a skilled driver you don't need to waist your money in modifying a state of art that you can't handle anyway. Ende der Durchsage!

    First of all, fake exhaust tip, never. Must have a real, exhaust pushing pipe.
    Second, Eventuri has the best intake for this engine. There is very little needed for the breathing on this motor and they admit this in their video for the intake. Only minor tweaks with the flow of air.
    I have a '11 E92 ZCP, and it sits low and mean from Germany, simple wheel spacers work beautifully.

    short throw stick = useless unless you're still learning to shift. HRE wheels uglier than the ZCP, CF intake completely useless, exhaust, ok that is better than without, OEM CF spoiler, good pick.
