- In this video a 260lb wrestler wanted to challenge some of our instructors (some of which he out weighs by 100lbs) Do we have what it takes or are we a McDojo about to be exposed?!?! Watch the video to find out!
"But I'm 260." Where else have we heard this?
but im 260 tho
but im 250 tho
“155 and I just started”
I can't imagine the mindset that it takes to believe that only 8k in the entire world can out-roll you
If you've competed and proved something its easy to imagine. With this guys skillset it's delusional.
For real. I'm a bigger dude than him, been training for a long time, and even I know that there are way more than 8k dudes in the world who can beat me hahaha
And coincidentally 3 of them happened to be that gym. Talk about your bad luck. Lol
I was a "high level" wrestler myself... and, just like this guy, I completely overestimated how much that would translate into BJJ. Fortunately I kept my mouth shut about it, and hence, there are no videos of me getting smashed/humbled on the internet! 🙂
I can’t recount the number of people over the years that told me about their high level wrestling skills when they were 12 😂
This was handled incredibly well by everyone here. Even the guy admiting he was wrong before, and you guys not showing his face and not trying to hurt him.
The last roll was a classic Black belt rolling with White belt leaving tons of space but punishing mistakes, I just hope this guy understands that there are levels to this.
That sequence at 2:11 was as smooth as glass.
I don't know, I appreciate this sort of thing. He was honest with his experience, weight, and size... and honest about what he believed he was capable of. You guys humbled him, and he took it in stride, and his feedback wasn't negative or defeated -- he merely said, "I need to get better."
Kudos to you guys for everything, of course, but kudos to the guy for actually showing up.
Yes I agree. I can't imagine things going better than this. And I think it's cool, the "old school" way people would show up to challenge a gym. So long as egos are in check and waivers are signed...why not have some fun? Cool experience all around.
Wrestled at a high level for 9 years and stopped before highschool. So he wrestled from age 5-14?
If you pause the video and read the messages he actually said he stopped in high-school. Unless there are other messages he didn't show I don't know why he said he quit before high-school
He's a wrestler so most likely he repeated the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade 2-3 times
@@James-xk8dy😂😂😂
It’s not uncommon for kids to be encouraged by their parents to wrestle from a young age and when they get to high school and have more independence quit. I’ve seen some very skilled wrestlers quit around 15-16years old.
This was PERFECT. I'm sick of gyms using this kind of thing as an excuse to humiliate and injure these guys. You just sparred the guy at a regular pace and kept it respectful. Respect 🙏
He was 259 lbs that day. You got lucky. 😂
You can see the skill set difference between student and coach at 2:12.. how flawlessly got the butterfly hook in swept him and immediately took the back.. just beautiful transition
Thanks for acknowledging that this guy isnt actually high level. You even beat him even in the typical wrestling exchanges. This proves that your ego is solid and you have no need to try and shame the sport of wrestling itself. You are great guys and good athletes.
High level pre school wrestler. I love guys like this. Fortunately, these guys come in all flavors, boxing included, and always get tuned up.
This was amazing 😂
On behalf of... everyone, thank you for putting that man and his ego in place.
Bro was doing too much. Just come in and try some classes big dog
right
Preach
But he CBA to do fundamental or novice classes he's not a novice. He's trying to teleport to purple belt to skip warmups.
Big dude has an ego the size of mt everest lolol that mustve been humbling.
Great job setting this up as a demonstration for your gym, I think everyone learned a little something that day.
@@anti_Hype_334 how did he nerf his opposition? Also, early days the gracies were fighting people with literally no rules in their dinky Brazil gyms.
Coach Gannon famous now!!
I've always wanted to see something like this in real time. Had something close but not like this.
White-Belt here.
1:00 what is that move called and what is the proper technique for that?
Shoulder crunch to arm bar
Shoulder Crunch/Ude Gatame, the finishing mechanics require you either extend your opponent using your lower body or use your legs to control the shoulder and press them against the mat while you extend your body. But the guy couldn't control the 'high level' wrestler so he just transitioned to an armbar from bottom/guard.
It's a humbling sport
"wrestled at a high level and stopped before highschool" bruv what? 😂 i mean when someone says theyre a high level wrestler youd assume theyre d1 or d2 at the very least, but bro wasnt even a varsity high school wrestler for 4 years?
@2:26 tackle and grapple 🤼 🥋
I don’t know much about wrestling and I’ve only been doing JiuJitsu for a year… But that big guy does not know much about either
He said only 8k people in the world could out roll him… so 0.0001%?
I'm assuming he didn't become a member
😂😂😂
Damn, I love wrestling, but at least be humble in trying something new, even if you think it’s stupid.
same dude messaged me i told him basically the same thing you did and we basically set the same time! what a weird guy! i wished he picked us
My C-Tier guys would handled this dude. He needs ALL the classes.
Wrestlers 😂
To the unexperienced...they don't understand the phrase 'there are levels to this game' until they actually roll against a black belt in BJJ. Just gotta watch out who he goes against his first year cause he will spaz on the smaller guys and actually injure someone as he gets better but his ego hasn't improved.
I don't think he deserved the statment: HIGH LEVEL honestly... He wrestled couple of years in young age...So please give the right infos...Thanks
That was from him not us
@@NexusAJJ excuse me; you did title the video... So you wrote that
it is in quotes, because he messaged us saying that. You're excused Chris
@@NexusAJJ No worries, appreciate that
This dude doesn’t seem like that good of a wrestler based on what we get to see in this lol
I knew how this was going to go when I saw his face blurred lol.
So did he sign up? Lmao
@@anti_Hype_334 you’re trolling right
We didn’t let him sign up anyways. Not the attitude we are looking for
9 years before high school is experienced but I wouldn't call it high level.
"Insanely good at wrestling"
Eddie bravo's skills are very good for high skilled wrestlers who does not know BJJ well.
@@anti_Hype_334 Brock Lesnar understand Bjj after he tapped out by Frank Mir.
@@anti_Hype_334 Of course Brock Lesnar employed phonomenal BJJ coach ,after his first loss And then He became monster. This is BJJ match but you still talk about MMA. MMA and BJJ is very different. Who don't you mention about Gordon Ryan vs Brock Lesnar. What do you think about it?
Damn, way to tame a spazzy wreslter.
Did the same thing a year ago to a ‘high level’ wrestler
High level wrestling is Division 1 in college or olympic. Ive wrestled for 40 years at every level. You should be ashamed. He didnt even compete in high school.
imagine what old school Gracie Gyms did 😭. Would have been way worse. This was nice compared to back then.
Hahahaha amazing
I think it’s us when someone says they’re been wrestling at a very high level for 9 years and then stop in High School? Is grade school high level wrestling these days?
Nothing better than seeing an overweening ego disintegrate just like that.
Everyone is welcome in my practice room. Its not a competition in practice. Jui Jitsu has no class. Of coarse you beat someone who hasnt competed since he was 13, High level wrestling my ass.
im 260 tho
Get humbled wrestler now see if he actually joins and sticks with Jiu Jitsu getting submitted every practice
Yeah, how dare I defend myself in the comments 😂😂😂
You may also keep your comments to yourself ❤️
We didn’t let him sign up. Not the vibe we are looking for tbh 👍
@@anti_Hype_334 You’re right. The massive positive community reaction is wrong and you are right. Soak it all in
You're not supposed to get submitted in practice? I must be worse than I thought then
There is no such thing as a “high level” wrestler before hogh school.😂😂😂😂😂 what a clown.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 coaches said light work
high level lol
😂😂😂
