Because of the breakneck pace of the movie, I recommend people watch it a couple of times to fully grasp the mythology of the film.
Fun Fact: The interior of Egg Chen's garage/office is Fire Station 23, the same building used as the business interior in Ghostbusters.
Bonus Fact: Although Kurt Russell was John Carpenter's only choice for the lead role, the studio suggested Jack Nicholson or Clint Eastwood. Once they proved unavailable, Carpenter was able to cast Russell.
Absolutely agree with the first part. Multiple viewings are needed to follow along properly.

#2 - Really? I haven't seen anything with Clint Eastwood in it but with I still can't imagine him playing this role.
John Carpenter sought to create the first non hero, hero, which is the character Jack Burton that Kurt Russell played. Carpenter sets trends even when nobody else recognizes it. Other Carpenter movies you may want to check out that are mind bending are, "Prince of Darkness" and "They Live".
He certainly does that. I have Prince Of Darkness on my list already but I’ll add They Live.

Kurt is great in this, his character is the complete antithesis of his character MacReady in The Thing. In this he's basically just the sidekick. I knew you'd love this film.
Yes he was great. After the poster and the opening scene talked him up, I was expecting to see him as a serious hero. But I'm not complaining, I really enjoy him as an actor.
@@inbedwithmovies3228 Thing with Kurt is, he's very versatile. He has great comic timing. I think you'd also enjoy "Overboard" with him form 1987 .. Not to mention "escape from New York" ;)

A great movie. Like I told you in the chat this movie was one of the inspirations for The Mortal Kombat video game (The Three Storm inspired the character Raiden in the game and David Loo Pan Inspired the character Shang Tsung). You should see The Golden Child a Eddie Murphy movie that came out at the same time with the same ideas (There is even one actor who plays in both movies). Other great Kurt Russel movies you should see are Overboard (A rom com I think you like), Stargate, Breakdown , Executive Decision
Another is SOLDIER. Where it's actual training and tactics vs cloning the perfect soldier.

Excited for the upcoming Duel reaction. That was a very early Spielberg release. Dennis Weaver at his best. I would also recommend another early Spielberg film which starred Kurt Russell. It is called Used Cars.

Out of all of them, I've only seen Die Hard.
@@inbedwithmovies3228 being you said your a Kurt Russell fan your definitely will like Overboard and Tango and Cash. He also did Escape LA and Escape NY but I personally don't consider them a favorite. But Stallone and Kurt in the same movie is super awesome to me still.

sadly, i did find out mr griffith died just a few years ago 😥. so overall, a waste of time and mildly depressing. but only 15 minutes, including typing 🙃
