cute collection though missing E.T. lol, little bit of advice...get some protective wraps for your steelbooks. i put everything in pochettes.
I've seen people do this, but I don't think it's for me-I'm not a dan of plastic on my stuff. Yes, the special packaging is nice, but I'm generally very careful, and in the end it's the movie that matters anyways. It's not a big deal to me if there is some shelf wear eventually.
your channel is definitely one of the better ones for movie reviews out there. i don't know one advice maybe a little bit more spoiler review in the future?

I've joined Letterboxd last month because I loved the layout and overall style of the website whenever I watched one of your monthly movie summmaries. I even became a Pro member because the statistic feature provided is the coolest gimmick. "Get Out" was one of the first movies I logged into my diary, I am so glad I watched it and I know I wouldn't have if it wasn't for your review video. I guess I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to Letterboxd and increasing my obsessive movie logging pleasure and list making. :o)

I also didn't get The Cabin in the Woods when I first saw it, but I watched it again a few months ago and, trying to keep this spoiler-free, I think watching it after the backlash of films like It Follows and The Witch made it 1000 times funnier. This is the first video of yours I came across and it was well done! Btw, Steven Spielberg himself dislikes temple of doom more than the kingdom of the crystal skull, you should just watch that one. People hate on it but it has some funny moments and it's older Harrison Ford, who is awesome haha.

I try not to buy too many because I'm just concerned that things will go the same way as DVDs and they'll become obsolete... so I keep it to my favourites. So of course I've FINALLY just purchased a Hitchcock collection after watching this :D
Thank you! I actually used to have a lot of DVDs, but that was back when I kind of just bought whatever was on sale and/or looked good. Sold all of them, and started over with blu-rays a few years ago, much more selective this time around :)

If you liked About Time and Love Actually, you should check out Pirate Radio. Same director. Also I noticed a couple of movies (The Game and Llewyn Davis) you own have Criterion releases. Especially The Game, the Criterion release has better picture quality. Not a videophile enough to care?

Army of Darkness was my introduction to the world of The Evil Dead and the horror-comedy genre, so I'll always enjoy it, but Evil Dead 2 is the best. Have you watched the Starz series? Bruce Campbell is still great playing an older Ash.

You need to watch Middle east movies. I suggest you Children of Heaven (1997) an Iranian movie, it's so good. A story about 2 little siblings struggle in life because they're so poor but they never give up, such an inspirational movie, you would appreciate your life after watching this. A Separation (2011) probably the best Iranian movie ever, won oscar for best foreign movie. And if you done with those we can talk about Bollywood 😋
I have 3 Blue Ray films. The reason I don´t buy more for now is because the Blue Ray players are the most primitive ones in my book. I like their other features such as their ability to play DVDs. Why have I not bought any new Blue Ray film? Here is why. Hoarding Blue Ray films is not a good idea. Dumping them is an environmental waste. No one denies that it is much harder to scratch a Blue Ray than a DVD. Keep your films. Eventually I will decide if I want to buy another one.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. 28 Days Later is absolutely NOT a zombie movie. Even director Danny Boyle has gone on record to say that it is not a zombie film. Reason being, is no one that attacks others throughout the film are “undead.” They are living/breathing people who have become infected with a virus then attack others. Once the infected kill another person, the person killed does not come back to life to attack others. They stay dead. 28 Days Later is a “post apocalyptic/horror movie. But nope, not a movie about zombies.

Too expensive, tbh. I bought a couple the other day on sale, but they're still $20 even at 50% off, and that adds up quickly. I rarely spend more than $15 per blu-ray-I look for good deals :)

Watching No Country for Old Men first, and then reading the book last, I would actually recommend. The reason being is because Javier Bardem's take on the villain in the movie is so damn legendary that it's more haunting having his character in your head when reading the parts his character has within the novel.

Have you seen/read The Remains of the Day? I really liked Never Let Me Go as well, but with Remains I feel like it's still Ishiguro's finest and hits roughly the same emotional notes even better. Don't know why, but the story somehow feels more real and poignant.

all my friends/family think it's funny that I have three (yes, only *3*) "chick flicks" -- Steel Magnolias, Beaches (makes me cry) and Fried Green Tomatoes
There is only one movie that actually scares me and it is OLD! I'm talking about "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane" with Betty Davis and Joan Woodward The situation is realistic enough that I could imagine myself in a similar perdicament.
You & I really love buying fantastic movies. I assume you have plenty more and this is just a collection you've recently added. We both have alot of the same movies.
I'm going out on a limb here assuming you or your lucky husband earn a great sum amount each, because obviously blurays/ steelbooks aren't cheap lol. I'm a poor orphan boy from Oregon, not agrabah, but yet I still buy them anyway. Life is too short to not enjoy the little things😉
P.s. I assume you don't yet own Logan bluray steelbook, Split, or Get out. Which I believe are some of the best movies this year. Your always corky and marvelous. Keep rockin mariana😎

If you own all the other Evil Dead movies you are obligated to own "Army of Darkness". Its a funny action packed film and highly quotable.
I really like your collection but it sucks you don't have the Star Wars prequels. I am one of the biggest Star Wars fans. Nevertheless I love your collection!
Please check out the movie about the football strike called "The Replacements". The first DVD movie I've ever gotten and so glad.

Interstellar is one of my favorite movies of all time and the ending was epic as hell. Honestly don’t get people sometimes. I feel like people listen to critics way to much and then they go to a movie thinking it’s bad and a part of its bad and then that’s their opinion.
