I wish Summon Corpse would summon your thrall back as well so you could save them if you died in a fight.
there is a "rescue thrall" ability in the game already, though it causes them to lose all the stuff they are wearing/carrying and can only be used after both you and the thrall has been out of combat for, like, ten minutes or something. honestly not very useful overall.
but summon corpse should summon the corpse of any of your thralls that died.. that'd be nice
The harvest spell is great when you gather at a place with lots of small hand pickable stuff... Like what you get at the vaults with crystal, gold and silver ore.
Splinter has a use in pvp as well. Outside raid time it still triggers other clans placed pets and thralls. Particularly good if you want to find out if archers are armed with gas, explosive arrows etc...
To drop items out of your inventory faster, just press spacebar. Also, I think icebridge should get an honorable mention. Ive used that to break into many peoples bases when they have an open roof.
The more you have your attributes corrupted, the longer your bat lasts.

If you are at a point that you respec your attributes, max out expertise for the full movement when encumbered and mass cull common stuff till your inventory is full, an hour or two of collecting (depending on travel time out) and you can stock up more than you'll need for a while then return to regular content. I did this with 3 zombies and a horse filled their inventory as well. I know there are other considerations on an aggressive PVP server, but I haven't needed to harvest wood since I did that.
If you corrupt your authority it will increase the Stam and health of the demon bat
This is very cool. Do you have a video of the basics for casting spells? Listing the items needed to craft the spells?
Firespark, for the bat demon.. corrupting your authority increases the demon's stamina. ive got 19 corrupted points in my authority and my bat's stam is 970 (im assuming at 20 points it'll be a flat 1000 stam) so its more powerful if you build for it. with my 970 i can fly from the gravewalker (wight boss in unnamed city) to at least the winged death (albino bat demon boss in unnamed city), possiblly further though i dont remember if i've tried. also, you can fly at the same speed even while encumbered so its great to harvest from multiple areas before you remove your bracelet maximizing the effectiveness of summon corpse as well.
as for the spell you call "splinter" (its real name is "mirror mark" for anyone who is lost as to what firespark meant), human boss enemies (like the arena champion and judge) will focus on the clone so it takes a lot of danger off fighting them. so its extremely useful
I have my authority fully corrupted and my bat is useless. Flies a few feet then drops me. Could be my friends server settings I'm not sure fully. But for me the bat has been useless
@@johnhimes8660 you... you know you have to press jump to pick up elevation.. right? do it at the start of the flight to get good elevation then hit it once when it starts to desend to keep your height up. stay several feet above any ground so it doesnt think your trying to land. (and dont pick up elevation when it has around 60 or less stamina left or you'll drop from too high and maybe die)
@@darcraven01 I didn't know that, thanks so much I'll have to play around with it now. As I said before the bats been useless to me . Hope this helps me round out my arsenal. Since I'm an archer based sorc player. Normally to get up high I just use the double jump glitch and flip my way to the top of cliffs since it uses less stamina.
@@johnhimes8660 yep, np. im sure you'll find out the bat is super amazing once you get the hang of it better. personally, i tend to fly most everywhere now days. with my base hanging off a ledge, ive even put landing pads designed spesifically to take off and attempt to land on. lol

I started playing with keep inventory off because of that spell. Its such a cool mechanic that I had to utilize it

Just got to T3 and made a huge base structure with hardened bricks alot of MotD thralls . Had the top gear i could make and equiped my thrall with the top gear i could make . To get better gear i needed ash and gold so i went to the volcano , for whatever reason a stupid event took place as i went over the cold bridge and got killed together with my lev20 dalinsia good stats , that made me so mad cause i didnt put up a bedroll and lost all my stuff that i rage quited and started a new game . After this vid , i could eat my but ... the body summon would have atleast let me keep my stuff and all the ash i gathered .
Harvest resources doesn't scale with server settings so it's useless if youre on a server with higher harvest rates
It's just a time tradeoff. If you are a big builder and you are intent on keeping a furnace running 24/7 making bricks even on a 2X gather rate with a star metal pick you're doing far more grinding than running mass cull several times in the right places. Of course harder to get stuff you want to harvest with tools, but I cleared out all the brimstone in Shattered Springs in just a few minutes with zombies killing the rocknoses. I used a pick on the brimstone rocknose corpses and skipped the boss. Sure I'd have gotten more hitting every node with a pick, but when I run out I'll go back and mass cull again. I even got enough that I had some to put on my zombies when boss hunting for 9pts/sec of healing to save time there too.
Mass cull also negates the need for explosives to harvest star metal.

summon corpse does not work everytime with dungeons - yesterday i died in a dungeon and the summon spell said "no corpse to summon" went back to dungeon and i did have a corpse.
I use visibility to run in and get the 2 Sabre tiger cubs 😀
The last one is valid, but even that one, all the rest are just nice but useless. If you consider the amount of time to cast the spells (even the resources one), the fact you need to have the right sorcerer bags with you, sometimes corruption level and can not be disturbed while casting, all those fancy spells are just...nice.

As a real PVP player my list is: 5. Invisibility 4. Retrieve corpse 3. Mass cull 2. Call of Nerghal (the bat) 1. Lightning storm.
Other spells are just PVE fluff or simply trash.
2 best spells during base defense in pvp is darkness and call undead if you use both the zombies attack players they get stuck in webs it's useful

that... gathering resources trick actually is insane. lotta ppl disappointed because magic isn't stupidly destructive but why does magic always have to be destructive to be useful?
The really insane part about it is you can use it to get starmetal too, without using explosives.

I was excited to get in to the sorcery, and have been enjoying the utility of it thus far, but I think the fact that it essentially makes me a 'glass cannon' but doesn't actually give me the 'cannon' part is where I find it frustrating. It's useful, no doubt about it, but in a game that's known for PvP and so many of its design/balance choices are built around PvP being a thing, it's just sort of... underwhelming. I think if the corruption side of things weren't so punishing and you didn't have to lug around heavy pouches just to cast some fairly basic utility spells it would be 1000 times better.

10 non-corrupted points into strength to get combo master and 9 corrupted points into strength with the first corrupted strength attribute (Scourge), this way you get a 9% dmg boost base and also 20% dmg for combo finishers (worth the extra 1 point), you also get 50% dmg with strength weapons, and 5% with agility weapons (if you use a strength weapon, then you want to max out corrupted strength all the way, to get a total of 120% dmg boost base with strength weapons, but then don't build agility like I do, I prefer agility weapons for this build so I build strength up to 10 with 9 corrupted to get the 14% base dmg with agility weapons and the 20% combo finisher dmg)
10 non-corrupted points into vitality to get Resurgence and 9 corrupted points into vitality with the first corrupted vitality attribute (Grotesque Excrescence), this way you get a 1.8 hp/sec health regen base and also the resurgence perk which this build requires
20 non-corrupted points into grit, get Tenacity and Endurance, you get 80 extra stamina and 25% stamina regen (that is all that matters in this build) and obviously Steel Thewed which the build is built around.
20 non-corrupted points into agility, get Backstab, Precision Strike, Quickfooted, and Rolling Thrust, this way you get 100% extra dmg with agility based weapons (combined with the strength points, you get a 114% dmg bonus base on agility weapons, which is really good, not as good as the 120% with pure corrupted strength on strength weapons, but in my opinion, better because this build needs the agility skills and the 20% combo finisher dmg is actually nice), you also get 20 extra stamina, amazing reaction times after dodges which pairs with a stamina-free 25% extra armor penetration attack you get from the Rolling Thrust attribute after every dodge, the Precision Strike should always be giving you 10% extra armor pen if you are using a proper light loadout for this build (and you should be since armor makes no difference in this build making remaining below 75% weight very easy), lastly extra dmg when hitting people from behind at any angle and also just faster less stamina intensive movement (sprinting, jumping, the swimming, all the good stuff), the stamina focus of agility helps this build a lot since you have a solid 48% corruption which is good for reducing health but sucks because we lose a lot of stamina, that being said, you still have to remember that stamina is the one thing to play around in this build as you still don't have much even with max grit and max agility.
Lastly, use Derketo religion to get more max stamina by using her potion (cheap and available starting early game.) Yog also gives stamina but gives HP which ruins everything, Derketo with more stamina is much better.
Also, anything you can do to get more stamina is probably worth it, lot of things you can also do to get more dmg, just don't get more health.
This basically makes you a melee glass cannon, built for combat with agility weapons, but with no possibility of 1 shot ever, no serious armor grind (technically, you can operate without armor at all with this build, but you shouldn't because armor can gives great buffs to attacking ability), and amazing self heals that constantly self-refresh, allowing you to never die as long as you get out of damage distance as soon as your heal deploys allowing it to then pop again (takes a fraction of a second), this pairs well with the extra armor pen on first attack after dodge. You take 2 hits, in that time you can usually get 1-3 hits of your own off, then you dodge away, and then re-initiate with a stamina free attack that has 25% extra armor pen (on top of your base 10% extra armor pen and your weapons armor pen, even a weapon with a weak 15% armor pen gets 25% base armor pen with this build and 50% armor pen after each dodge, so dodge attacks really hurt if you are a heavily armored enemy, meanwhile your own build is entirely unaffected by armor pen and status effects like sunder because your build requires no armor and doesn't use armor at all for dmg reduction.)
(This should all still work, but I haven't played for a few months, so it might have some broken aspects, but I doubt it, going to build it again now that I am back.)
@@Christian021R corrupted. Basically, you get down to 200 health with max corruption (since the vitality perk unlocks at 10 points so your base health is 400.) That means at 100 health, you get 85 back, leaving you with only 15 you need to heal up to get to max health at which point the heal chain resets. Meanwhile, any hit can do around 30-35 dmg to you at most, no matter what you get hit with.
Is funcom going to fix the issues with sorcery every time a spell is cast the game crashes. Someone fkced up when they should of left the game alone

Creative Mode in the game, no mods, just admin stuff.
So what I'm getting from this (and a couple other videos) is that playing on a PVE server with "drop nothing" on death, sorcery is not really very useful for anything? Although apparently I still need to progress my sorcery to be able to get zombie thralls. I tried to use ice bridge once, but it only got me half way to where I wanted to go and could not be re-cast from the end of the first bridge.
I'd disagree, mate. Sorcery on a PvE server with drop nothing on death is still super useful. From just the undead followers, to other aspects, it's very useful. Also, I believe they make a philter for that issue with performance on the ice bridges ;)
Lightning too OP
Have you tested summon corpse in all dungeons? Some I have been in have been glitchy and I was unable to recover my corpse. The Cellar Dungeon, for example.
I experienced a bug that wasn't as bad as yours, but it was still pretty unfortunate. I died to the Arena Champion and summoned my corpse. Neither the Inner Sanctum key, the Arena Champion key, nor any Rusted keys came with it. Had to do the whole dungeon again.
Hello, I just wanted to ask this, because I could not find this answer anywhere else. The conceal corruption spell removes only visuals of your character skin, etc., but your corrupted lifebar is still visible to the others, am I right?
To me it's only cosmetics, because any enemy who comes close to you enouh will see your corrupted lifebar. So not that much usefull in PvP, I guess? Especially when someone is in heavy armor, so he is whole covered by his gear. maybe I am wrong, but friend told me he sees my corruption on lifebar, even when my conceal spell is on at the moment.

Nice guide. Thank you. I hope they start to work again maybe on some faster spells for better attacking in solo PVE like flame shots, or Ice bolts , or lightning bolts ect. I mean seriously the magician skills are usefull but for fighting they kindly sux alot. But if they add the right skills I think they can add a real new gaming expierence and alot of players would play as pure mage.
Have you ever read the Conan Stories? Sorcery isn't much use in a fight. Mesmerism is about as good as things get in a straight confrontation.

How do you remove your bracelet? Every time I search for it I only see the end game option to remove not the deathwarp way you mention here. I'm on Xbox if that has any influence and I only started a week ago.
Check the main menu. Might now be under character in the menu.
It's under character in the "pause" menu. The place you go for settings and the like.
It's a shame funcom fudged this update so bad on console. I cannot even bring up the sorcery stones without crashing not just me but any of my clanmates who are nearby effectively we didn't get an update because we can not use the meta.
The same situation for me and my friends. I don't care about the magic but my friend really does andeverytime he uses a spell he crashes someone's game. It's so badly ported

i just saw a big hole in the sky in conan with tentacles coming out in exiled lands what is this about
that would be an event happening and the only spot I can think of that has that happening is along noob river at scavengers berth it has some fly people and some eggs the fly people are pretty tough so if you do go there do it with good thralls or a heap of expendable zombies and kill enough of the flies to get a boss to spawn the flies also ahve a chance to drop fragment papers to make a recipe once you reach a stack of 5 or maybe go with a group to wipe it out
@@Orwrath2010 me and a couple people cleared it out and we got some recipes for weapons but it requires eldarium and as far as I know you can't get eldarium in exiled lands
Splinter at the Arena Champion she ignores you and your thrall completely and you can just stand behind her and beat her down.
Has to be a bug. Every other boss I tested it on just ignored the thing.

There is a build in Conan that uses max corruption. You can’t really die because of 20 grit and first perk of vitality.

I understand sorcery is lore accurate on CE, but STILL isn't very useful in most situations, there is no fighting spells, no a single one if you take the many steps and resources needed to cast a simple lava wall, is far Worth just swing an axe around and kill everything, this apply to every spell, again, I know its based on the lore, BUT, if they put this new mechanic in game, they have to make it worth it, what's the point putting something of little use in the game if most players won't use or find useful? And again, the costs to research and cast are way too high for the results.
This is the draw for people that like Howardian Sorcery. There is a high cost for everything sorcerous. There is a lot of research, risk, study, and time to gain power. Maintaining power is costly and risky. Sorcery is rare and used as a conditional advantage. It is about the experience of extreme challenge and fleeting reward... the drive for more power that ultimately ends with the Outer Dark.
It's not useful for fighting but it's great for raiding. Base defenses become mute

@@Zenny90 I think it's Hosav's UI mod. I installed that mod and got options to display floating damage texts.
I still don't personally like the lightning storm as yea it's seems like it's just for pvp kinda terrible for pve. probs need a video that I can link to people for sorc pages as there have been a few people who I play on a server with find it terribly hard to get the pages since they think the sorcs spawn randomly :/
Any tier sorcerer placed in your thaumatergy bench can craft the pages. There us no difference(thus far) between tiers, so just grab a T1. It takes sacrificial blood, paintbrush, and a papyrus scroll to make 1 page, with a chance at getting a failed page. With a thrall, you can also turn 10 failed pages into 1 successful page.
Honestly conan on console is broken one lightning spell and the whole t3 base is gone
Yeah my friend destroyed a vault with one lightning spell. We also plan on raiding these people who raided us with lightning. They have a super base but oh well. 10 lightnings and it's gone lmao.
Most powerful spell is on a full nudity server and your character runs around fully nude.
You lose sigils from Siptah. The sigil of the fiend is broken, so ya can't just farm that one to keep all of your sigils every time
With Sigils being a big part of Siptah Funcom should not have changed any of them... bad move on their part.
@@kevinh5522 and I'm planning a transfer to the exile lands. Now I have to stay and farm a lot instead of just the sigil of the fiend. There's no way to get any of them again once I leave
omfg...are you telling me that 3.0 actually broke the AI reset mechanic??? I was playing before the update and noticed that the knockout bar didnt reset when they ran back...and now it does. Is this an actual bug, or was it bugged out before 3.0 and is now working as intended.

I used to play on a private PvE server with AoC, and the npc's are super tough..
What I used to do was, put a bedroll in front of the camp, and run in but naked (cuz my armor would get ruined anyway and it's expensive to repair) with a truncheon and start chipping away at it's knockout bar until I'd die, rinse and repeat. (there was no item drop on death)
Guess I can't do that anymore..
Invisible to pick up recipes from steles? Dont you usually have to defeat that boss to learn from the stele? Maybe good for non-boss recipes? Or just a five minute run where you dont want any trash mobs on the run back to a boss that got you. But for reading the steles I see no logic in your highlighting that.

OP spells? None of them. One, the process to cast spells is way to slow. Two, you gotta carry around too many resources to cast spells. Three, by the time im done using these OP spells to do X, the guy who didn’t use spells did X, Y, Z, and ate dinner.
The problem is that if they mess around too much and put spells like Elder Scroll Skyrim, where you shoot lightning and fireballs from your hands, it's going to be a problem in PVP.
And in pve, what's the point of using spells like mass cull or harvest whatever resources, when it costs more time and resources to even cast? The corruption thing is the most annoying. And if there's a way to get corruption easily without capturing thralls, the game should say so somewhere. Anywhere.
@@MrBlk4 Mass cull is great for farming mushrooms, dont know if they patched but you could also get star metal without explosives
and this is why i play on PvE servers....sorce has broken PvP in this game to the point where i dont even want to play PvP.....

Cull resources time can absolutely measured lol and isn't worth it in the long run.
Go on then how do you measure it? Also there is no way you are farming 15 nodes faster than you can cast that spell lmao
@@Firespark81 You cast that spell lets say at 5 great close locations. You get a set amount of resources for those nodes. Now you have to wait for them to respawn when you could have got 5x as much from each node doing it with legendary tools. Now you have to run further out to get more resources, ultimately if you were to farm say 2 hours with that spell and 2 hours with in farm spec you would see the net loss of using the spell over just normal grinding. And you would see it fast by the time you have cast that spell 3 times I will have caught up to you, guarantee it, just need 15 pts into expertise and be agi spec.
He literally said this in the video before explaining it.

In PvP it seems somewhat "useful" BUT also VERY unbalanced and unfair what was expected from Funcom tbh! :D

Anyway...
In PvE (especially in Lategame) ALL the Sorcery is just useless, except the "return Corpse" one, but it is actually not a Spell used with a Wand, it is a Summon from a Building.
If there would be some QOL Spells "ok" but there is not even one that is "needed" anywhere.
The Spell "Collect Resources" is a total WASTE on Multiplayer Servers because the Amount you get from an Area is 10 times lower (or even less) as you would get with just a "Hard Metal" Tool not need to mention a Black Blood Tool!
Sure it will take a bit longer to Harvest the Area but who cares... as the Respawn Time for Resources "should" be 15min by default but on Official Servers some are not even Respawned "completely" after 30min (maybe it's bugged like so much in Conan Exiles?!)
In that time period you can Harvest 2-3 "hotspots" and get about 100-150k Stone and 15-25k Iron (or even more?)!
Also the corrupted Perks have the "same use" in PvE -> nothing (except some bugged builds, especially the "invincible Build" for PvP...)
But that is another Story of the Game and it's "balance" ^^
The only kind of useful thing in that book is the Resurrected Corpse if you don't wanna bother decking out and leveling your thralls..
But I hear that they despawn after a while. Would be nice if they had a timer in the info Tab, but I guess that's asking too much from Funcom..
They completely ruined this game on console.
This game is absolutely busted exploited people are dooping bombs with unlimited bombs dooping volts setting it all around our bases Causing massive lag in the game blowing everything up with no consequences we have reported it constantly all of our hard work and everything we put into this game is now gone because of how busted and broken it is I wouldn't waste my time on this game in fact I will never waste my time on this game again And yes I play PVP and I expect To have our base Destroyed but not like this
mate, it does not cost too much to hire your own private server. I'm in a group of 10+ using our own server. Sure, it is only PVE but being able to enjoy the game without jerks is worth it
