I was in Millineum Park in Chicago that evening. Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles brought this segregated city together. He rocked this town. There were black, white. brown and every kind of people there, all on one accord. Chicago needed his concert so very badly. If it wasn't for Co-Vid I believe the City of Chicago would have been blessed with at least one or two more appearances from Cory & the Funk Apostles! God Bless all of Them. I follow everything the do. So, for now he does a virtual show where they are featuring Cory and, his drummer. I think it's a fundraiser, which I imagine will help maintain them until they can get back on the road! He is a most wonderful young man I met at his album sale and autograph signing. Both his parents died when he was very young. He only had his grandparents to raise him. He said they didn't want him to even go outside. So, he went through a lot of changes! But, God is so Good, look what great things he is doing in his life. So, everybody go to his virtual show and donate to give all you can to this band. Encourage them with all these positive vibes and good feelings coming from them to us. We need thier message, so, let's all enjoy and support them with buying thier items for sale, too. Best To Everybody! Don't Forget Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, they certainly haven't forgotten about us! Just listen to that Music. OMG! What a Great Vibe Band! All Positive! 2nd time watching this today!!! I’m here for all of it!!! I can’t stop smiling. That bass though!!! My God!!! I remember watching Cory play the organ in Memphis when he was about 5 years old. He was awesome then and awesome now!!!
Cory bettah watch it at 15:52-54, that’s that “church” flinch right here, couldn’t hold that. There are certain types of music that are made to either calm you or hype you, Gospel and funk music will hype you, have a bad day and turn music like this on, you will go from depression to celebration, I am a true witness of that. Both genres are similar because it’s spirit based and the greatest performers are the ones who get lost in the music and give you permission to do the same, Cory is and always has been a prime example of that.
