Hi there. Thank you all for watching our video. To help out, all the details are in the video description. The zipline is located in Wales at a place called ZipWorld. All the official speed and length stats are on their website. While our little video gives you an idea of what it may be like, to actually *feel* the rush, the wind, the adrenaline and see the height is another level. You must try it to truly experience how quick it really is. Trust me, you will scream doing it too! Have fun!
I'm 59 now, and went on this about 3 years ago. I did it because I'm really scared of heights. If anything it all felt a lot tamer than I had imagined, but was still awesome. The feeling of having stopped over the water was the most terrifying thing about it: the fear of being stuck up there for ages while they rescue you. At 500 feet above the water your forward motion is almost undetectable apart from the roaring wind.
That's the part I was wondering about. From the video, it looks like you get "into the float" over the water, and then things appear to accelerate again as you get down closer to the ground. That's got to be an interesting effect and I would also be scared of getting hung up and sitting up there for a long time as they rescue you.
@@Skank_and_Gutterboy Yeah, your pespective gets all messed up by the distances involved. It is very disorientating to feel solid 100mph air hitting your head with no sense of motion. I'm glad I did it.
The impressive part is when you are closer to the ground I think, because you have the feeling of speed... and danger of collision, up over the water seem a little less impressive.
It's the same illusion created when flying at altitude. You appear to be almost stopped, in spite of the fierce wind in your face, but coming in to land, everything starts to accelerate sometimes at an alarming rate! You are not alone with this illusion.
One moment you will feel like a superhero flying down a mountain, the next moment you hang there helpless at the ending, in need of someone to untie you :P
I have been on this zip wire before and it was alot if fun. However a piece of advice to anyone planning to do it, it's probably quite difficult but try to do it on a day when it's not raining because at the speed you travel the rain basically slams into your face and it hurts alot which I learned the hard way. But it was good fun
This video gives me chills in a good way (because it's satisfying), especially at 0:35 when the ground suddenly becomes farther away, and the zip line is still flying.
