@@1981-A_R Insane. Titanium isn’t even that expensive. $270 for a regular one is equally dumb. The knife is small and basic. The only thing going for it is the pretty colors.
Has Benchmade lost their mind with their prices! Almost $400 for a slip joint with good steel. S90 is nice but not that nice and the action was weak. Idk if its just me but no thanks.
I like that Suprlativ Infidel slip joint, and it sounds so damn cool! But I don't understand why giving it a carbon steel blade? Why any folding knife would use anything beside stainless steel? Firstly, folding knives don't need so much hardness... and secondly, among various small tasks, most of them are used for prepping food on the go, which is a no-no for carbon blades. Maybe some bigger, heavy duty folders could use it, but a smaller slip joint... it's just why??
bruh carbon steel is the original steel for slipjoints, and non stainless steels are perfectly fine for slipjoints. you get insane edge retention and with a tough steel like m4 you can take the edge super thin and make it slice super well, and also get sometimes DOUBLE the edge retention if you knock it down to 12-15 dps instead of 20dps. which is exactly what slipjoints are for, thin slicy blades. most slipjoints originally came in carbon steel and case/boker/rough rider still make knives in 1095 carbon steel and d2.😊

I can agree with the sentiment that Benchmade in general is really pricing themselves out of the market; but who knows, maybe not because they seem to keep making knives with models that are about $150-$250 overpriced and yet they keep selling. But there is a reason that Reate is the prototypical high end OEM that is used by essentially every maker/designer on a production end, and that's because their quality is top of the line, even when comparing USA and China. When you want top notch quality fit and finish and basically the best OEM work the industry has to offer, then the price tag will usually command that same level of expectation; it is what it is and the market has always been that way so it's nothing new.
