Modified wharnpoon👍

All the best for the new year to all knife centre employees 🎉
That vosteed dachshund design is amazing, wish there was a non-titanium budget version
Keep a Titanium version and put a Compression Lock. Bam
This is such a good channel and weekly for shoppers and collectors, even though I love browsing the catalog, having a detailed opinion to go along with the item, is the main reason I go to knife center first when buying a knife, all the way from Washington State, thanks a lot Dave and everyone at knife center, keep doing what you do, we’ll keep spending the money we probably don’t need to, but do anyway 😉
Another great week of knives, thanks fellas for everything you do. Wishing you all a Happy Prosperous New Year
About 30 years ago I remember a guy showing off a pocket knife, trying to see who could figure out how to close it. It was a manual opening, locking knife with a pivoting bolster release just like that Pro-Tech Whisker. This is the first time I’ve seen a knife with a lock like that since that day.
And just wanted to reiterate how impressive qsp knives are, just got a karambit folder for 40 bucks, I have so many tactical/defense knives at every price point and they have to be one of the best value knives I’ve added to the edc rotation, super impressive, it’s no wonder you are repping a qsp knife every week, thanks again
That Vosteed Weiner Dog makes a great sound when opening and closing.
Thanks, KnifeCenter I was fortunate enough to catch one of the WTG V44X before they sold out.
That was a tight race, sold out in a hour, I wanted one but I have a Puzon Bowie just didn't seem worth having two so alike.
Great set of collection this week with a couple of unusual ones. Perhaps Knife Center can do an update of "Unusual Cutting" tools for the New Year.? Maybe start with Mocotaugan. Safe new year guys. Cheers from Australia.
Pro Lite got reintroduced in tanto and saber blade styles. They also made a Working Man's branded version and that description really fits the clip point version you demo'd today. In a lot of ways I prefer my Pro Lites over the Air Lite - the Pro Lites have thicker handles with more rounded edges. Don't abuse your Pro Lite (opening paint cans and other "use a pry bar instead" tasks) and it will stay stronger than any so-called "tactical folder" I've seen. Needs a little more often edge stropping than the AUS 10 Air Lite, but pretty easy.
man that worktuff is out of this world
Holy crap artisan used something other then s35. Wow im amazed. Beautiful knife too
You no like? S35 is my fave!
its just too abundant and i have to much i like many steels better including s45@@user-hk9du6px9x
Happy new year to you and your team I love watching your videos keep up the good work!! Came across a knife that caught my eye. The Toor Darter Fixed blade would love to watch one of your videos or maybe you have one I missed talking and medium size tactical blades such as the Toor Darter and some others to compare . Price size and sheaths . Thanks again for all you do wishing yall a Happy New Year !!!
I have been checking YT all day for the new knives video! Finally!!!
Thanks for sharing bud!👊🏻
I wish the Satyr had some more texture on the finger flick side bc I miss opening it all the time haha
Right on the money with the Dregoth inspiration. I wamted to mix a smatchet and tracker. Work tuff gear did it justice for me
Nailed it man! -DCA
Love the Satyr!
Dachshund is a type of dog. "DaSH+Und" :)
I love the lineup.
www.google.com/search?q=dachshund+pronunciation
Awesome knives this week. And DC you're like only the second person i hear pronounce dachshund the roght way lol. Thought for sure the dog names would give it away to some...NOPE lol. Happy New Year everyone.
I know someone who pronounces it as "Douche-hound"😂😂
Happy Holidays, DCA & Thomas! Maybe a question for a KniFAQ. I finally have my wood burning fireplace in working order & looking for a good inexpensive fixed blade option for batoning firewood for mostly creating kindling. Also want it to be able to shave wood to create tinder. These will be it’s only chores, so toughness & edge retention will reign over stainless. What say you?
Im surprised you didn’t call the Microtech stitch a Harpoon spear point. It does look wicked though!
The ProLite is back! Finally- I'll have the blue/clip point. No need to wrap it up. It's a right'a'way user.
Thanks David - and greeting's from Glasgow , I always tune Into your show ,
Always an eclectic mix of steel , for myself to salivate over - even though our ridiculous laws in Scotland make it illegal to carry anything but a folder under three inches
Kindest regards and keep up the good work
I think the Vosteed Mink would make a great boot knife, I carry a boot knife most of the time and the Vosteed Mink would be a great carry in my 8" boots
QSP have stolen my name - I am the walrus! 😂
I'm always excited for new knives of the week
Not anymore...new knives! Overpriced flipper, overpriced flipper, overpriced flipper nothing new at all
Those WT knives always get me💙💙💙
I see your thinking on the smatchet inspiration for the Dregoth, but I definitely see a Kukri there too. Put 2 kukris together back to back and you’ve got the Dregoth.
My main points of inspiration was the smatchet and tracker. It's a amazing thrower to be so big as well
@@Bighungry89 Good work, it's an impressive design. I ordered mine yesterday, really looking forward to it.
@@jwesley235 definitely go have some fun with it. I appreciate your support
@@Bighungry89you throw urs? It's thrower shape has me considering it but I don't trust the handle. I see a gladius in it
@@jwesley235 Mine is arriving today 😃
Good episode guys keep it up .
Dave thank you and Thomas for your great work. Sometimes I can’t carry my chisel which sometimes I have to pound the handle strike plate with a hammer. Is there a foldable Tanto or chisel blade? To handle being struck by a hammer on occasion that you can recommend. Thanks
I need the WTG Dregoth. I'm not sure exactly what I need it for, but I'll figure something out.
That Dregoth reminded me of an old Schrade design, the SCHF9. If those old Schrade knives had better scales and somewhat better steel, they would be awesome.
Lord Mr. Vic and those guys put a scary edge on every knife, that edge is glowing sharp, you don’t truly know a cut until you open your skin on a brand new WT Nomad 😅
Hopefully we see some or all custom's in your top 5 video.
Question for the show. Is there a Stockman or Trapper profile knife, with higher end steel? I.E. S30, S35, M4, etc. Thank you
That Satyr is a beaut!
200 for a folder is nuts
Yeah. Most I've paid is $100 but each very unique, Kizer sheepdog and a Bestech with ox bone handle.
That Griffin is talking to me. For one thing it looks as cool closed as it does open - maybe even cooler. I may be reading too much into the name but I think 'Griffin' is the perfect name as a Griffin is a mythical beast with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle and, to me, when closed it has sort of an eagle's head appearance but when opened the blade looks like what could be seen as a lion's claw.
I like the Walrus, as well, because I like trailing points. Not even sure why because that is not always the most useful, all around blade shape for general use. Maybe because, as a kid (and still, now) I always liked the look of a Sharpfinger. Whatever the reason the shape resonates with me on fixed blades and it is cool to see that shape in an affordable folder.
wouldn't a reverse tanto be sharpened on the second edge like a tanto?
Is the Backside 7SDM already "discontinued" as noted on your website. That was quick!
Dregoth reminds me of the Condor Bushcraft type knives, rather than a smatchet.
Protech like Spyderco need to come out with some new knives and designs and not the same old stuff!
I'm so damn sick of the endless Syderco designs that all look the same...
Would you consider using the Vosteed Mink as a pocket carry?...of course, without the DOTS clip.
Hey DCA I'm left handed by birth could you show us some of {if there are any } left handed only knives please and thank you for all of the great video's
The MS Stitch blade shape is a WharnSpear.
With the harpoon like spine, maybe wharnspearpoon?
Great vid
Take my money!! 🤘
Am I mistaken, or is that Hydra OTF capable of deploying straight into someone's gut?
Most ive spent is 175 for a custom fixed blade but ive got alot of $80 to $100fixed blades
Do we need a new name for the reverse tanto?
We don’t call a Wharncliffe a reverse straight back.
Or a trailing point a reverse hawkbill?
Or a sheepfoot a reverse drop point?
Let's call it the shiitbelly blade!
Looking for the knife nobody makes. D2 3 3/4 blade. Deep carry tip up ( kizer type). Thin but Curved handle. Axis lock. Hole (spyderco like) for opening. Glass breaker. jimped thumb ramp. manual flipper with jimped finger guard. thumb studs a plus. Bottle opener a plus. $80 - $100 range.
The only time it’s a reverse Tanto is if both edges are sharpened. If not it’s NOT a reverse Tanto.
I need your help a friend has been looking for a knife a coworker had. He splices fiber optic cable. The knife never needed sharpening and was a plus $300 model. It's flipper tab was situated so the action of pulling it out of your pocket would deploy the blade. He's been looking for it for about 10 years.
David we want to see you Throw the Throwing Knives!!😂
Where do you get the "not" from in "SDM"?
"doesn't"
I wish the Launch 14 was bigger. I miss the days of 3.75 inches being more normal. 3.5 is almost considered a monster now. It's sad.
Vosteed Griffin blade type should be called a "toucan-bill."
Knife Center Specs call it a “Combo Spear Point”
Damn, that rose gold whiskers already says unavailable. Was it a limited quantity? He didn’t mention it was limited in the video
Unfortunately some things sell out in between filming these vids and when we post them. I try to keep that to a minimum but sometimes things slip through. -DCA
Love how the Blackside Customs Phase 7SDM, says new item and it's discontinued and no longer available for purchase, on the same page, lol. Was hoping to see how much it was as it looked like a cool knife. A little funny, upset and sad all at the same time.
Stitcho knife blade shape is.....Arrow Head
I think America needs a sub $200 fixed blade smatchet I'm crying over here 😢
Condor?
@@wellregulated8725 Condor Knife and Tool?
Only $60 away...
that Heretic really does have a hefty launch.
Modified reverse clip point 😂
I love this channel
U Just released video but rose gold whiskers is unavailable on the site. What’s up?

TO SLOW BRO!
So I’m not trying to be a smart a** here. This is a serious question. Is that Artisan Satyr sold just for looks, just for a knife collection in which it’ll never be used? The reason I’m asking is because the HRC on it is 59.3. Yes, 59.3 for S90V at $200. Are there folks out there that would use it as their actual “working” knife with a Rockwell that low? Again, just wondering. I mean you can get a Spyderco in S90v for less than that and the HRC will be 62, 63. So I’m guessing the Satyr is just a collector knife right?
All I know is that different steels have different optimal hrcs. I dont know what it is for these steels though
I like tacos 🌮 😋
Where did you read the Hrc for the Satyr? Also Im pretty sure Benchmade made the S90V Bugout with a 59-61 Hrc. The Piratech Kraken was also around 60-61 Hrc. These are not that far off from and both of them cost about $80+ more than the Satyr, just saying. I actually don't even like the Satyr or even care about S90V because even though it'll hold an edge a while its toughness is horrible!
The optimal hardness for S90v per experts is 61-62, but the harder the better for edge retention. The Satyr’s 59 is far from 61-62. A difference of 2-3 when it comes to hardness makes a significant difference.
I received the 59 HRC data for the Satyr from Peter’s Heat Treat, a well respected USA facility. My brother sent his Satyr in for hardness testing and it came back at 59.1. My best friend sent his in as well and it came back at 59.4.
@mikesummers8141 Im not saying s90V can't take a higher hrc I know it can and I've seen it higher before. I also know a change of 2-3 in hrc is significant, I was just telling you what I've seen as well. Typically the higher you go in hardness you'll have better edge retention but you'll lose something elsewhere (in this case I believe its probably toughness) and maybe they like the balance of where its at 🤷♂️. Maybe they're not familiar enough with the steel or for the price point this is where they're at? 🤷♂️Idk bud I've seen people run Magnacut at 60-61 in the Rockwall and now they run it 1-3 hrc higher. I find several companies run certain steels a little lower way more often that the alternative whether ots intentional or not. Thanks for letting me knw where you got your testing done cuz I was genuinely curious how you knew (only because the Hrc is not always listed) and most give you a range and not an exact reading unless you do what you did.
The 7SDM is already discontinued?!?! 😭😭😭
Unavailable or discontinued?
Nice one David...New Year's Eve is on Sunday...Not Saturday 😂

Most interesting knife is axe )))
Seeking professional help for my knife addiction. Fell of the wagon in 04/2023. Bought 15 since than to add to my 300 plus collection. Just retired as a police officer . Beem at it since 1982. Probably going to live with my addiction. Dang kc
Isn't the Microtech Stitch a "harpoon"?? No..?
Man everytime im like "WOW I WANT AND NEED THAT KNIFE" theb i go online and remember i live in canada and not much are shipping here ..
But at least your health insurance is affordable
@@Xander_Park lmaooo im not even using it and its affordable yea but you gotta wait 20hrs to see one single doctor 😂
Knives are better... Feel for ya hellbig
Does anyone know of any decent knife /knife maker with "fidget spinner" scales? There's gotta be one.. right?
👍
Not a reverse tanto blade.

Thanks for calling it the Satyr and not the Satire like I've heard so many call it.
Cold steel has been shit since they got bought out
Totally
That's how it goes...
Cold Steel, just give us something new already…
Yes, and with a new upgraded pocket clip. I love cold steel products, but their pocket clips are so bad
I’ve been a cold steel fan forever but the new cold steels suck:(
I got my prolite for $24 … not only do they not bring much new they now overcharge
Bruh that orange one is basically an Odinwolf only 10x the price ….
@@NOOBKIAtv💯 agree
I just looked at the protech godson. There isnt a single knife on this planet worth over 2k lmao (they did have cheaper options)
Looks like someone lost a bit of weight! Or may be its just slimming (longer) face hair. Anyway. Good for you. Happy new year.
YES YES OH GOD YES THE ARTISAN CUTLERY SATYR EXCUSE ME WELL I GO CLEAN MYSELF OFF OHHH YESSS
👍👍👍👍👍👍 Atypiques !!!
A Reverse "ArrowFootPoon"
Holy crap I didn't see CHINA stamped on the blade of that first knife, artisan cutlery .. that's stopped me from buying a lot of ther stuff
It says china on the blade ?
Or a bunch of them do?
That's racist
Reverend Anderson so nice to see you.
Reverse TAINTo
David C. Anderson is the Joe Biden of Knife reviewers. Don't ever start rehearsing, I always enjoy the videos.
First one is a prime example of why it’s BS an expensive knife would have a frame lock. It’s the laziest possible lock design and is bested by almost every other lock type in terms of working well without interfering with the pocket clip use and detent strength depending how tight you squeeze it. To each their own, but as far as I’m concerned frame lock belongs on cheap budget knives. An expensive premium knife should have a little more effort put into the design. At minimum do it like the Peña trapper and barlow. Even better, push button, cross bar or shark lock.
DCA is so drunk in this one...
Axes "sheaths" are called masks :)
You’ve cost me a lot of money Mr. DCA. I sincerely hope you’re being appropriately compensated for what you have created with this channel. 😊
