Your videos have turned into a guilty pleasure for me. Started watching for the wrong reasons and now living vicariously through you guys. It's inspiring for couples relationships and traveling.
That is so nice to hear! We're glad you're enjoying our videos. We got married just before we moved onto the boat and think of being on a never ending honeymoon. 🥰
Hi Guys The journey along the Corinth Canal took me back to the early 80's when we stopped on the bridge going over the Canal and looked down surprised me the narrow distance on both sides when a cruise liner went through. Great video. Regards Crawford
It's so good how you not only show the sailing but I really like how you showcase the towns. It's a bit different to Queensland. Stunning countries. Great work.
It's always a good idea to have a second painter on the dinghy as a back up when towing. Very easy loose a dinghy while towing, especially at night if the single painter chafes and breaks.
Interesting video of the canal, thanks for showing. Couldn't help but notice at 13.00 dropping the main was a bit of a faff. A racing skipper told me to coil the halyard in a figure of 8 and then it (mostly!) runs free, untangled and untwisted as the main comes down. If you tension the halyard a bit with the winch before starting the drop the clutch will open easily and not wear the outer covering of the line at the same time as you force the clutch open. Everyone has their own way of doing things, I'm just suggesting!
Hi Ashley, thanks for the suggestions. Yes, the halyard got a bit tangled. We try to coil the halyard in a figure of 8 but it still seems to get tangled. I don’t think the line is the best quality. Flaking it into the cockpit floor seems to be the only way to ensure it runs freely.
When the outboard is not being used and needs to be tilted up out of the water, so the barnacles don’t plug up the water jacket also it’ll create less drag being towed
This is a very interesting video. How long is that canal? I can't believe they dug it so long ago. It makes you feel very fortunate to live in this time. The city and castle are, again, very beautiful and mysterious. Thanks for taking me along.
12.13.24 I had never heard of the Corinth Canal, but I recognized it immediately. It is a common back drop for movies and documentaries. I enjoyed this very much as the sun set in New England, -3C and clear. 🙂 It was interesting to see you prep the flag loops by sewing them to fit. As a guy, I would have scrounged around to find mechanical snaps or other metal hardware. I think your method was more satisfying.
Looks as though you haven’t learnt the lesson of losing your dingy as of yet ,as you only use one painter😢 We always have two from either side and can pay in-or out depending on the seas😉 Also good practice when at anchor to keep it close to the stern when the Meltemi is blowing 40+
Yes, good point. Heard a great saying recently from an ex-services guy. “One is none and two is one” meaning that things always break and if you only have one option you will suddenly be left with none. A second line would be a good choice.
Hi Pete, We don’t have a visa extension. We actually only stayed in Greece three months and spent winter out of Shengan in Tunisia. But anyway, we travel on a crew list and remain on our boat every night. We made some videos on it. They are called ‘How we beat the Shengan Shuffle’.
Team great channel and well done for doing this adventure…. not being a wanker but run your tender out further when you are under way..…… just some friendly advice …. safe winds…… Only reason for advice experienced offshore and cruising sailor ….
We should be putting it on the deck more. We gut a bit lazy there for a bit. We really don’t want to put it on a davit because we’d lose our very enjoyable stern space and views.
2500 years to build the Corinth Canal ... looks like public works programs haven't changed that much over history. A beautiful cruising ground and good to see you back sailing. FYI Russia is blocking starlink in Ukr and the Black Sea - this won't effect you unless NATO enlarges the war ... Fair winds - 😊🇦🇺
Watching you sort out the dinghy and Code Zero, your life jackets are so loose you might as well not be wearing them. If you fall in, they would just float up round your head. Just saying! Your boat, your rules!
Yeah, they look loose, however they are actually just very structured which allows them to shift a bit, but it’s really only a few centimetres bigger than our bodies. They have a wide crotch strap which will prevent them from rising more than a few centimetres too. It’s so tight that we can only just bend over (and we adjust that as needed). And of course, when they inflate they become much tighter. But thanks for looking out for us.
I love an mature woman with a sense of adventure and a healthy relationship with her body. You are both an inspiration.
Oh thanks! That’s so nice to hear.

Thanks Crawford. It felt very narrow in our boat so I just can imagine how the get a big boat through without touching the sides.
As always a beautiful and informative video y'all ❤
Another super video. Enjoy your next adventures.
Well done you two! Good for you two, too do these things wile you’re still young enough. I envy you guys. Keep it up. It will keep you young and fit.
Thank you! We are enjoying it so much! And need to work on our fitness to keep doing until we are much older.
You had my attention. 😍😍

Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I miss Queensland! Beautiful.
Great to see the full version of your latest Sailing Naturally video. I left a reply on that page to Jan’s question as well.

I know every man just tunes in to look at your lovely wife young and old even me but yous make a lovely couple dont let anything ever ruin that
My thoughts exactly ❤

@sailinghelios2023 hi, hope you don't think I'm trying to teach you to sail!
Very beautiful country.

Oh Babe!

It’s just over 6km, 25m wide (feels less) and 8m deep. That’s a lot of rock to move.
@@sailinghelios2023 No kidding, that's a lot of rocks to move, especially by hand. No track hoes, no bulldozers. Amazing.

That's cruising how it should be , With the code zero its good to have turn around the winch so you keep a little pressure on the line as she unfurls
Good tip. 🙏 Thank you.
Looking good in your swim suit.
Are you talking about Richard looking good in a swimsuit? He’d love that! 😂
@@sailinghelios2023 You BOTH always look great!
Hah! Thanks! We are happy and living the dream 😁 (swimsuit or not)

How much was the fee for transiting the canal? Great video for a tanker. Lol
It depends on the length of the boat. For us it cost €240 (we are 12.95m)
Any bad weather scares?
Visto che il reggiseno tolto avrei sciolto anche un lato di quel costume.
Can you tow the dinghy with the drain plug removed ?
Not really. It would be ok if we were moving fast and it was planning but otherwise it would sink.
We’re their ever any forest/trees on those shores ?
Not really. Just some scrubby bushes. There’s lots of stone and rock. Typical Mediterranean coast.
Hi guys
Kiwi Pete here. How did you guys get your visa extension to stay in Shengin
Hi Pete,
We don’t have a visa extension. We actually only stayed in Greece three months and spent winter out of Shengan in Tunisia. But anyway, we travel on a crew list and remain on our boat every night. We made some videos on it. They are called ‘How we beat the Shengan Shuffle’.

I will go view it now
Listen fella...Those budge smugglers I think you grew out of 50 years ago!!!

Yeah, good advice. Thanks. It seems we really should have a safety line too. Will do! Thanks.
Your wife is Biutiful lady
Thank you
For the man. Lose the speedo and get some shorts. The lady looks good.😊
Do you ever go to Adult only beach’s ?
Not really. In the Peloponnese we anchored just off a nudist beach but on the boat we prefer to stay on the water than the beach.
@ you look so beautiful in a bikini I just had to ask . 😍😉
Thanks! And our boat is a nudist boat if we choose. Our boat, our rules 😊
@@sailinghelios2023 I wish I had a peep at that party 😍
