It is one of the least densely populated countries on Earth. Suriname is a tropical country dominated by rainforests. It is the only sovereign nation outside of Europe where Dutch is the official and prevailing language of government, business, media, and education. Due to the variety of habitats and temperatures, biodiversity in Suriname is considered high. The sloth is the national animal of Suriname and they’re so cute! Enjoy and if you’re up for adventure, Monique, sloth saver, is looking for volunteers.
What an amazing documentary! I was born in Suriname, left the country when I was 9 years and went back on vacation 36 years later. I am so happy to know that there are people, like Monique, the doctor, pilot, photographer, etc. that care for communities that are in the middle of a forest and are not destroying nature nor trying to eliminate the people that live in these areas, but helping them in their natural habitat, which helps to preserve the culture of the country . I never thought that my birth country is soo beautiful. I have seen dolphins where the Orinoco and Meta rivers meet at the borders between Colombia and Venezuela. Maybe these dolphins are similar to those in the river in Suriname. Thanks for this beautiful documentary!
I truly appreciate @Rosanne and her pillot for sacrificing everything to give hope of life to less visited people's in the world... God bless you all endlessly
So much respect for the doctor, it's very obvious this is her calling. The way she comforted the mother in the plane was incredible and such a genuine display of compassion.
what amazing people. Everyone shown here... the photographer, the doctor, the nurses. the narrator...this program,... the list is long... sending my love.
I love documentary's like this the words can't explain for the places they go to show us how life is and they don't add stuff to it's this is the truest that documentaries can get... Please don't change the nature of these I love how you put them together it's unbelievable.. and the narrator is top notch 👍💕
Thanks for this informative Documentary that introduced two dedicated women who spend their time serving the most deserving people and nature. May their tribe increase .

We had a wonderful and unique experience with Ms. Monique Pool. One afternoon my youngest daughter discovered a sloth clinging to our water supply system at home. We live very close to the forest. We immediately contacted Ms. Monique, because we have no experience with these animals. And the animal also looked so terrifying with its sharp claw nails. While calling, she tried to reassure us that the animal could do no harm and was on her way to pick her up. When she arrived at our place, she picked up the animal as if it were a baby, only to release her safely into nature far away from people.
This video is so touching and inspiring especially Monique with the sloths Nature worldwide needs people like her to protect the environment. I wish there were people like her in the US to protect the whales from being killed there for man needs nature. God bless Monique 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
It's really a remarkable informative piece of our beautiful nature...no matter where still it's a part of our mother nature.A big thanks to the producers and everyone who does those humanitarian and preserving nature activities 🙏🌿🕊❤

Beautiful! I loved this documentary. It was so interesting and so filled with magnificent nature. Thank you. 🙂 I was surprised about the Dutch element in Suriname. I understood some of the words spoken, as I speak Afrikaans, and Afrikaans comes from the Dutch language. Blessings to all the team that makes such documentaries. 🙂
Thanks to the best documentary team! This was absolutely incredible! I learned so much! I was amazed at the harvesting of trees submerged for decades, the stunning beauty of the country, the passion of all the people featured. The narration and photography were excellent. I'm happy that Suriname is taking care of their part of the Amazon and l hope that çontinues. Your documentaries transport us to places we will likely never visit. Thank you!
