Here in Southeast Asia, there are a lot of buyers of the original V9 especially the pricing here for PXN is much cheaper and not a lot of people have racing cockpits or even proper PC desks lol. Pricing for Thrustmaster and Logitech products are also not to the reach of many and in some cases higher than the US pricing. Even used FFB wheels are still beyond the price of the brandnew PXN wheels. I myself started with the PXN V900 for a while which is far better than playing on a joypad. I had so much fun with it and when I was able to save some money I was able to upgrade to a FFB wheel with a next level cockpit which is a big jump in my opinion. But I would say that PXN allowed me to enjoy racing games like never before for the price.
@@nickryan6787 So true. This is why PXN targets the Asian market over the US. Here in my country, the Thrustmaster T128 which I think is their entry level FFB wheel is much more expensive than PXN V99. But in the US it is the other way around, the PXN V99 is a bit higher in price than that of the T128
All the criticisms are entirely valid, considering the pricepoint. However, in asia this thing costs around 100-120 dollars - which kinda warrants it if you live there. Its certainly not for serious sim racing games. Definitely for people or kids who do casual gaming on the pc or console arcade driving games
This guy's like "force feedback this and force feedback that" I'm here to tell you that "force feedback" is a lie. It doesn't actually exist. Real cars with power steering, don't really have "force feedback". The rubber bands with vibration feedback is actually the most realistic approach. Real cars with power steering (which is 99.9 % of them) don't fight you at all. Let alone constantly fighting you like "force feedback". Force feedback can go to hell for all I care. Like i said it's a lie. Doesn't really exist. I only prefer wheels that don't have it. This seems to be the best option. Cuz it's the only non force feedback wheel with a separate, realistic shifter. I'm looking forward to buying this wheel sometime in the near future.
Considering that the Thrustmaster TMX/T150 is US$150 right now, I don't think this a great showing for PXN. I think if it were around $120 it would be more considerable. On the subject of racing wheels for children, I think the Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel/T80 or a very old Logitech NASCAR wheel would be a better pick because they're way cheaper. In addition, I don't think kids would care about the shifter or third pedal since they'll likely drive an automatic gearbox in-game.
"Its 900° rotation could be a huge dealbreaker to many" Seriously? WHOM. Cheap bungee return wheels generally come with only 270°. And ETS2/ATS are designed for 900° wheels anyway. The visual rotation range of the cockpit model is only 900°. Furthermore i really can't imagine being able to stretch a bungee return system to 1800°. And 1080° don't make too much sense either, like why even, it's only a quarter turn extra at the end. To me the lack of FFB eliminates it as a useful product considering bad pricing in Europe.
My first wheels were the VRS ones that went between your legs and I paid $50 each. They worked for a while. Better than nothing, I never learned to drive with a controller.
It’s awesome that someone finally said it, you don’t need a Moza r5 for truck sims. This will be perfectly adequate unless you want all your cabin buttons on your steering wheel which at that point I wouldn’t know what to press 😂 The people on the sim racing subreddit seem to think otherwise though 💀
I have a decent bit of experience with bungee wheels but not in racing sims. I beat the entirety of lego marvel superheroes with a thrustmaster Ferrari bungee cord wheel. Idk why I did I guess I just wanted to see if it was possible.
I have the old version of pxn v9 and the pedals are not the worst of the whole thing. the worst thing in the setup was the shifter, one of the two potentiometers stopped working and i cant find one to fit, the wheel itself is very loose and i dont know how to fix it.
what great products absolute beginner kids have available for them right now, comparatively speaking. when i got my first wheel many years ago it was a no-frills MadCatz wheel that is multiple times worse than this right here.
I still think that most people should look at a DD wheel bundle like the R3 / R5 from Moza and the CSL from fantact. It will last longer then what PXN provides, yes it cost more but its not that much when compared to other companies. I see why this bundle is more "beginner friendly" but if you keep playing racing game or sims maybe just jump for the DD wheel over other options. If you're already using a controller and still keep playing racing games just go for the DD wheel. it will be cheaper.
Hi there sir is there any equipment u don’t use as I’m looking to upgrade my setup but I’m just b it short on money and I would love I’ve u have some equipment laying around that u don’t use to much ?
I think they made the right call not to add a force feedback on the wheel, because if they do it'll end up competing with other better brands that has one too. I just wish they bundled it with the V99 shifter because that one looks much more durable.
Also important to know that the pedals of all V9s are extremely fragile and will most commonly fail, starting with the gas pedal first. The cause of failure in question was the mount of the sensor that sees your input which sux

Agreed, I am about to buy the V9 Gen 2. PXN has put effort into making a decent quality steering wheel on a budget, which I greatly appreciate.
As someone from southeast asia, I am totally agree with you 👍🏽
As someone from southeast Asia these cheap entry level racing wheels are ridiculously premiumly priced

the fact this costs that much, you might as well get a g920 and call it a day.

That’s all very close to what I mention in the conclusion of this review. Glad you feel the same
To be fair it comes with shorter, very many weeks dont
its $100 in asian countries, even cheaper if you get it on sale.
