      But those are just parts...while the XSX is the full package. You are going to need a better example. I would have used a 2080 since you can get that part used for 86 bucks on Ebay

    Great video, although I do want to contest one point you made:
    "1TB SSDs are cheap"
    That's true for SATA SSD's, but for an NVMe SSD, 1TB can get pretty expensive. Of course, we haven't seen how the decompression functions in the new consoles will actually affect load times, an NVMe SDD has much faster read speeds than a SATA SSD, which has a bandwidth that caps out at a little over 600MB/s.
    Not sure how much more affordable 1TB NVMe SSD's will be in thennext few months, but currently, they tend to be priced around $150.

    • @Thornskade
      @Thornskade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't know where you're looking. A few weeks ago I bought a Crucial P1 1TB NVMe SSD for €80, and a 512 GB variant can be had for €50.
      Sure, that one is cheap for a reason as it only has a read speed of 2 GB rather than the 4.8 GB of the SSD in the Xbox, but I doubt that it'll make that big a difference in games, especially since PC gets the same Direct Storage technology as in the XBox. I'm not even yet convinced that such fast speeds are necessary at all. At worst, you'll probably see texture pop-ins/fade-ins on low-end hardware without such SSDs. After all developers still need to consider people who don't have SSDs with Gigabyte speeds yet.

    • @jakedeschamps4454

      @@Thornskade it's been a few months since I last bought an SSD. I just looked up some SSDs, and looks like you're right, they are getting a lot cheaper. I just found a 1TB NVMe for only 109USD, and it has read speeds of up to 3GB/s.
      Upon further research, the only SSDs I can find that are still as expensive as I was saying are the different varieties of Samsung 970 SSDs.
      Thanks for correcting me, I appreciate it! I'll never learn when I'm wrong if someone doesn't tell me. : )

    • @Thornskade
      @Thornskade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jakedeschamps4454 Still it's important to keep in mind the lower read speeds on the cheaper ones, despite my doubts that there'll be a noticeably high difference.

    You have to upgrade your motherboard when you knock a capacitor half way off the board during a rebuild. Such a stupid mistake, board still mostly works but the onboard sound will crap out occasionally.

    These arguments are always silly because console gamers are talking resolution and PC gamers are talking frame rate. Yet we are both saying performance. I don't think the console guys understand what they are actually talking about a lot of the time.

    One thing that this guy doesn’t know what teraflops is that you can’t compare them across different architectures, so ampere =/= rdna2 tf. But using tf is as a performance measure is stupid anyway.

  • @strohhuttv8848

    13:34 min first of all Teraflops are NOT equal to Teraflops from a different GPU architecture different GPU generation. Second even if Teraflops = Teraflops yes this would mean that two Xbox One X = Xbox Series X BUT BUT only in GPU raw power what is about the 8 core 16 threads Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 custom CPU what is 10 milion time faster then the old Jaguar CPU's from Xbox One X. The Xbox One X has 8GB Vram while the Series X has 16GB Vram... The Xbox One X has a hard drive while the Series X has a extremely fast Nvme M.2 SSD. So yeah I lost couple brain cells even thinking about his comments...

    So the guy doesn't know Jack-shit about PC's or how one can build a budget or enthusiast depending on their funds.... But he is making excuses for the restricted locked down OS PC's known as Consoles.......Also he ignores the fact that both of the consoles will be using AMD based mobile components soldered onto the motherboard..... So he is wrong on them using a 2080 when in fact the consoles are using APU's near a RX5700XT or a 2060 super.......

  • @dannydogs4385
    @dannydogs4385 ปีที่แล้ว

    Consoles by their nature will never raise the bar for gaming because they are not upgradeable. Once they are out you cannot make them better. They will also almost always be behind the current tech because they were manufactured before the current tech existed. By the time they release they are already behind PCs. The only option to make a console better is to buy a new console that is slightly more upgraded. On PC you can just upgrade individual parts. Due to PC's nature, the PC will always get the latest innovations in technology and be able to utilize them. It is 2023 and people are very slowly acknowledging that PCs will always be more powerful and now that Microsoft and Sony are releasing their games to the PC, it will be the better option. As for the Switch, you can just emulate the games at a higher frame rate and resolution than the Switch itself.
