Sorry, with the wireless double rocker is it possible to program multiple taps? Like 1 press turns on/off the light, 2 presses turns on/off the AC, 3 presses turns on/off the light on/off the head rest? Stuff like that.? Thank you
@@madsncakes Am purely speculating here (had been doing a lot of research on No Neutral for singapore but can't seem to get a solid answer) - My best guess it has something to do with the LED drivers themselves. Since the no neutral switches need to be "powered" on when they're off in order to operate the wireless connectivity, they have to keep the circuit live/closed but with a very limited current draw. If the LED uses a constant current driver, it is possible that the circuit design may allow this slow current leak to charge up and momentarily drive a LED bulb to light up. Perhaps the T5 you have that has no issues have is either (a) dimmable (b) a friendly driver design that works with the switch.

Smart switch makes any light smart. To use the smart switch and sensor, u need a hub. The switch is always flat, so u do not need to do anything. It clicks when u press. It doesn’t work like traditional switch that flicks up n down. The app will work at any time. Doesn’t matter if the light switch is “on”

The switch is always flat, so u do not need to do anything. It clicks when u press. It doesn’t work like traditional switch that flicks up n down.
The app will work at any time. Doesn’t matter if the light switch is “on”
is it possible to have connected both switches to one "yeelight bulb YLDP06YL" and have e.g. one switch to read mode, the other one for movie
It’s possible to connect 2 switch buttons to yeelight but not by scenes in yeelight. But you can set to adjust brightness or color temp. I’m using yeelight LED Bulb and strips. I don’t see any scene option under automation.
I’m not sure if other yeelight models will have that
@@madsncakes ok, i see. Thanks for help :)
How you control the air con? Did you connect the air con to the wire switch?
aircon - see my video on universal IR
@@madsncakes which region ur using. coz i cant find aqara switch as child device in my xiaomi app
Heyyy. Thanks for the instructional vid. I hear this switch still wastes electricity as it is always connected to wifi. Is your electricity bill much greater than before the switches?
And also do you have any problem when you switch on/off? Does it lag or sometimes fail when you want it to on and off?
Habiburrahman Eq no change with electricity bills. Manual switch no lag. But sometimes with the app.
Thanks for the clarification. Might want to do this throughout my house. That's like almost 16 switches. Will do more research and start to aqara my house out. Thanks for the video.
so u are buy double button without N, right? i plan to buy next month and still researching whether the box can fix to hdb house ur video ready help.me!
Yep, I’m staying in hdb. So it works! No neutral, double switch. You need to get aqara hub to connect it.
@@madsncakes thanks i planning to use alot of mi products in my house now but i some function not working as well as i think like mi tv i cant add tv join to mijia application not sure anyone got this issue?
I’m using the tv box. Once u add it, will be just a virtual remote. Try changing region to china
@@madsncakes i mean i cant add to smart function like sensor detect no body at living room more than 20 mins then shut down the tv
Hi mads, are your light smart lights or just normal lights? I like to have that sensor automation at your bathroom. It works with just the switch and the sensor?
TheJastay u can choose. Either smart lights or smart switch. Or both.
Motion trigger sensor, to turn on switch.
U can set the automation. Motion trigger something else like send out the robot vacuum. all has to be same Xiaomi ecosystem 😆
@@madsncakes I am doing my new house. So I intend to do neutral wiring. I saw that the aqara switch has zigbee version now. The thing is I wanted to have both. But no seems to be able to confirm what if the old folks turn off the switch manually. Can it still be able to control via app?
On your video, I saw you had a sensor in the bathroom. I intend to get that. I am just wondering, can it work with normal lights? If the schedule can be done on switch level, I don't see why I need smart lights since I can trigger on/off via motion sensor already
I’m using aqara switch to control normal lights.
But u can do it the other way if your house is new, smart lights with normal switches
The motion sensor is independent and modular so u can set automation to trigger by smart switch or smart light.
Manual operation to the smart switch will reflect in the app that the light is now on/off. So don’t worry
What's the use of the multi functional gateway? Why do we need that to make it work, since the switch is wired directly to the lights?
whysee the gateway is for it to communicate to the router / internet. Without gateway, it works as a normal switch
@@madsncakes can we just have the lighting switch and the wireless switch and without the gateway. can they work as a pair? All i want is to have a power switch elsewhere but not requiring the Mobile App part. thanks
Without the gateway, it cannot connect to the app. Will be like normal switch
The switch and the wireless switch will not be able to communicate with each other too
Think of the gateway
Like a modem, connects u to internet.
Links all the devices to communicate tgt
@@madsncakes got it. thanks.
1 question, so as long as we wanna use aqara switches, an aqara hub is needed?
Yes
My very own smart switch is coming soon!!! I will announce when it is ready

Hi, I just noticed something. In the old switch, there were 2 top wires. But when u install the Aqara switch, u only used 1 top wire? What happened to the other top wire? Or maybe I'm wrong and just couldn't see the second top wire.
Yoi yup only 3 wires in total. See 2:10s
The previous electrician used a small wire 2:06s between switch 1 and 2. So that one I took it off.
Yoi 1 top, 2 bottom

Hello Mads!! I am a new home owner and am looking to home automation with MI Hub. Do we only need one MI Hub for the entire house? I am also not sure when to buy an Aqara Wall Switch with Neutral or no Neutral. Any advice?
Catherine Leck I’m using non neutral and aqara hub. 1-2 hub is good enough

Hi can I buy this in India ??? Will the wiring be same ??
Hi how to set yout aircon using the switches?
ahmad firnas Watch my home automation video with ir controller first then come back to here.

can the aqara switch pair with Xiaomi Gateway Hub V2 instead of Aqara hub?
Ho V hmm I don’t have the xiaomi hub 2. If u do find out let me know
Thanks for sharing!
TingHuang Tan welcome!
Does anyone know if i can get any smart switches of any trusted brand that can be connected to google home directly? meaning i dont need a separate hub.
i have a belkin wemo smart plug that's able to do this, but havent found any wall switches yet. thanks!
Iskandar Ishak if u stay in the same brand, it’s easier to expand the automation part. And easier to control all devices with one app. So it becomes a suite :
For example, I have another round switch which I got from xiaomi at $15? I can press 1 time to turn on the aircon. Press and hold turn off everything and send out the vacuum.
MADS, you have to give DIY classes
🤣 you’re right
hi, does the switch works with sg xiaomi hub? or does it only work with the aqara hub from china?
cslai2005 I don’t think so, they locked it to region. So depends where u got it
I am Considering getting this aqara Wall Switch but i Saw lots of comments online saying that aqara switch without neutral wire is unreliable and sellers don’t have warranty and smart switches that don’t have neutral wire are basically dimmers i want to ask should i get the aqara wall switch without neutral wire that you have or do you also face problems because i want to expand my xiaomi ecosystem i live in malaysia btw
Joshua Yew I don’t face any problems... all is good.
MADS thinking if getting the electrician do one switch costly might as well do all the switches in kitchen but the reviews very unsettling the online store got alot of bad reviews but yours seems perfectly fine and working well don’t want it to spoil then have to change all again tho
How does the switch stand against time ? I live in Singapore also and I’ve read some reviews that the switch without Neutral may spoil over time due to higher current in Singapore . Isit true based on ur experience ? Thank you :)
Also though , why hasn’t the Neutral one worked for u ?
Hdb doesn’t have neutral wiring. so it can’t be used. I tried with and fused it. It doesn’t work at all
Not sure about other types of housing. So far no-neutral wall switch works well
Alright thank you ! Will be going for the one without Neutral instead .
Will this dim the lights aswell?
Kevin Hansen no dimmer dial...
Does it remember ON state after power loss or it resets to OFF?
Ghita A. Do u mean what you program into the switch?
@@madsncakes Yes. If You leave it on (manually or via automation) and there is a power loss, when the power comes back, is it still on? or does it resets to off?

Aqara switches are not officially distributed in Sg. So only available in China region. Better to check with Funan Xiaomi store if u can switch region for their mi hub.

Chris Rogoza for normal switch you don’t need the hub. If it doesn’t work
